[Gleeman] Twins acquired first baseman/corner outfielder Eric Wagaman from the Marlins for Double-A left-hander Kade Bragg. Wagaman is 28, right-handed, and hit .250/.296/.378 in 140 games last season. Bragg was a 17th-round pick in 2023 and didn't rank among the Twins' top 30 prospects.

    Ryan Fitzgerald DFA'd

Feels like a floor upgrade over Gasper. Marginal player but has options

Didnt exactly cost anything and will likely spend the time at AAA

Totally underwhelming BUT its fine as a marginal move

you know its going to be a rough season when people are pining for the twins to sign a 30 year old rookie utility infielder with 50 plate appearances that couldn't hit .200.

For what the move is I like it. Gives a right handed option behind bell when he’s up has options. Had the second most hits for a rookie in the NL. Hate to see Bragg leave tho was a very good reliever. But he is a reliever in AA so not much value there.

Wagaman probably platoons with Larnach/Wallner vs LHP, not Bell. Wagaman was good vs LHP last year:

    • .283 / .321 / .462 / .783.
    parent root
    5 points tballzzz

Could be both. Sounds like they want to try keaschall out in the outfield some this year which would put Cody at 2nd. And bell has been getting worse at hitting LHP recently so this gives you a guy that can cover both OF and 1st

These are the moves a below .500 team with no direction make

As a fan of both the Marlins and Twins. Wag aman was the bane of the fan bases existence he stayed on the roster way to long being unproductive for a 1st baseman

    8 points MnWisJDS

    So the Marlins Jose Miranda?

    parent root
    3 points UseFinal6224

Miranda was better by a long shot and had a lot more potential

Bad at offense, bad at defense, and I'm just going to assume large and slow on the basepaths. What a joke.

Yeah, because this move will put us over the top for a WS banner.🤣🤣🤣This wouldn't even really count as a low-wattage move by Gleeman's standards, now the front office/ownership are making cheap moves to go to fans and say, "see, look what we're doing to improve", when in fact little they've done actually improves anything.

Wow, a first baseman with a sub .680 ops. I didn't think that was possible.

Is this going to be like the early 2010s when Cuddyer was our all star with 14 home runs, and we'd regularly field teams where no one had double digit power, and also couldn't hit .220?
