Soon as I seen this it woke up the 90s kid in me , and was ready to drive the distance thinking of all the new and amazing futuristic toys they must have in 2025 , then realized I’m old and broke . But still can remember how excited I always was to get to go there. The fantasizing of winning that free shopping spree they constantly enticed us with , the playable video games on display in the isles , staring at all the awesome r/c airplanes and cars in the display cases . And being there the day gameboy was released and grandma convinced me that I’d be better off with 2 cheap handhelds baseball and soccer.. instead of the $99 gameboy that only had one game with blocks .. any other nostalgia stories in here ?

The spirit Halloween of christmas
No they have those too now. Called spirt Christmas.
I thought you were joking so I looked it up. Nope, you're 100% right. What an age we live in.
They really didn't decide to call it "Christmas Spirit"?
They're inside Macy's at malls. We have one here. If you want to pay $30 more for the same set of Legos you can get at Walmart that's your place.
Never seen a macy’s in person 😂
They're creeping back into the UK too, by renting a corner of one of our large stationery stores. Used to be called W H Smith, recently re-branded as T G Jones (which is a completely made up name, trying to copy the familiarity of the 'ordinary' name of its predecessor.)
The old Toys Я Us was my old company's biggest client. Them going bust also brought our company down soon after. I don't have so many fond memories due to that :\
impressed you went through the trouble to write the reversed R
Thanks. It's in my text replacement shortcuts, I used to type it so often ;)
curious to know what did you need it for?
Some more nostalgia for you.

ya no. whp global owns it. just another private company scraping the bones of our nostalgia.
Exactly. They're relying on the name brand to draw people in to seel them over priced goods. This won't last long.
