Idk why people are down voting you. Bad for the tow truck drivers, pays them like shit, and therefore they'll only take AAA calls as an absolute last resort, and you'll often have to wait HOURS for a tow.
I don’t know but that’s okay. I’m a cop and when I work wrecks that are in the roadway with a vehicle that has to be towed, I hate to hear the owner say that they have AAA. The wait is always so long that we end up having to cancel AAA and go with our on duty tow service. We just can have the road blocked that long in most cases.
This reminds me of a cold windy day at Golden Gate Park, we were waiting in line for ice cream and suddenly it isn't moving. The pair up in front were waiting for the second ice cream after receiving the first. 45ish minutes later the guy returns and hands them the ice cream. Dude went to lunch or something without telling us and in the middle of their order.
I waited that long because by 15 minutes I thought they must be on their way back soon. By 30 minutes I figured we waited too long to abandon ship. It sucked I should have just walked away. The ice cream was great, but no ice cream is that great.
I got some co-workers like this. All they have to do is tighten one bolt kick the car out then go for lunch. But noon hits tools down out the door they go.
I think my now husband must have been annoyed but he was a good sport cracking jokes. I appreciate that because I think it helped calm the storm that was brewing within me. In the end it was my fault for not walking away.
Yeah those dudes have special trucks. It still shouldn't take this long though. The driver may be sitting there because the person can't figure out their payment (if he's dropping off) and is getting ready to drag it up and to the yard if they can't pay.
I agree you definitely shouldn't drive over a curb because if you think you are going to curb your wheel or damage your car driving over a curb you clearly don't know what your doing. It's also not for no reason, if you think sitting in a parking lot for over 45 minutes because someone doesn't know how to do their job is completely reasonable you must have absolutely nothing to do in your life. Your reasons for not wanting to are completely unreasonable that's why you think this controversial.
Ive driven plenty of cars in my life that id take over a curb no problem but my current car I would rather not.
Id prefer to not take unnecessary risks with my car if I dont have to. I also explictly and very clearly said potentially in my original comment.
In my jeep or my wife's tuscon? Sure no problem. Just not my current car with low clearance, low profile tires, extremely stiff suspension and plastic undertray.
Either way, if I can wait then I really dont mind waiting whats the big fucking deal to you. You can do whatever you want with your own expensive car and ill do whatever im personally comfortable with when it comes to mine.
The fact that you took my not wanting to do so as me just "having nothing to do in my life" simply because I can decide to patiently wait for a little bit is honestly some weirdo behavior
Take a look at the clearance im working with here. Maybe you still wouldn't care but I do.
People say “don’t attribute to malice that can be explained by stupidity” I believe “I attribute all to malice because people are fucking assholes if given a choice to consider others”
I saw the signage on the left for Hobby Lobby, Ross, and what I think is Orville (I didn't know that store). Then I saw the "ESL" sign further away in the center. I did a quick search using all of those as the search term and found a reference to Eastview Mall. Looking for that landed me near Rochester, NY. Looking further for ESL credit union locations, I found the Hobby Lobby/Ross/Orville center and could match High Point Drive with the partial name on the brick wall next to the center stop sign in the photo.
Worked with a guy once that had a little challenge for his coworkers to find out where he lived. Not sure how the game started, it had been going on for years before I started but everyone took a jab at it.
We had a new hire training one day, not even from the same town. He showed her a picture of his cat. The picture was of the cat sitting at the top of a flight of stairs and taken from the bottom step. Through the window at the top of the stairs you could see a few trees and a red glow in the distance.
Next day she had his address.
She identified the red glow as the neon from a gas station. Looked up every location for that chain in town, found the ones with 3 pine trees between it and a 2 story house within whatever range she had decided, then using google maps found the only one with a 2nd story window facing the gas station and looking between the trees.
Does it not trigger some type of innate curiosity, when someone complains on the Internet about being trapped and inconvenienced, and includes a handy photo of the scene, to want to know where this happened? I was curious. So I took it as kind of a little scavenger hunt to figure it out.
Well, I would have had the personal restraint to not do something like this if it were about someone's place of work or residence. This is a shopping mall. Does it identify the city/town. Certainly. But that's what people need to realize when they post photos and comments on the Internet. We're not your small group of FB friends and family. We are strangers sitting at our computers passing time and satisfying our curiosity.
Sometimes, it takes 5 minutes. Sometimes, it takes an hour to drag somebody's shit-brick onto a roll back, strap it up and get on my way. Depends on the situation, what's wrong with the car, the space you're working with, etc. I've been in this business a while. It's not always as straightforward as it seems. Whatever the case, once those lights come on, nobodies getting by my work area until I'm done.
Ex-tow truck driver here: as frustrating as it is, it's sometimes the only way we are able to get a car on the bed.
Yes it sucks and we apologize and we're moving as quick as we can but sometimes there are complications with the car like if the wheels are jammed up, broken axles and missing Wheels that require skids to be put on a flatbed like this one here which does take a little time if we don't want to damage the car.
I've had to drive on the opposite side of the road just even got a car the safest way possible, it's as annoying and inconvenient as it sounds.. but so is their car breaking down.
It sucks I get it, we can only get the car from one of two directions and we take the easiest one even if it means blocking everyone.
I know it sounds like bs, but cars breaking down is incredibly inconvenient for everyone, it happens to the best of us.
I'm not trying to call you out or anything but be thankful your car runs and you're not the one getting towed to a mechanic.
Edit: "why didn't they grab it the other way" it depends on the drive of the vehicle they're towing, sometimes it's easier tow from the front and sometimes it's easier to tow from the rear. It really depends if your car is front wheel or rear wheel drive if it can't be put into neutral.
For 45 minutes to tow a car? Personally it never takes me that long to tow a car, sometimes things can go wrong and takes more time.
If you have further questions feel free to ask and I'll answer the best as I can.
Not 100% just because it’s more “convenient” for you doesn’t mean it’s legal…if you’re blocking the exist and there is no alternative exist…cops will be called. Now, what they do when they come, not sure. But imagine telling someone who is having a medical emergency…sorry, “we the tow trucker drivers” are more important than you…which is why we took the “easiest way even if it mean blocking everyone”
And to add more to this stupidity: Have you ever been stuck on the highway bumper-to -bumper gridlock? Ever have an emergency vehicle come up from behind who is ALSO stuck in that same traffic?
Well, you gotta move for them right? In total highway bumper-to-bumper gridlock? Not easy and takes a while right?
But hey, like you said: "Every second counts" so hurry up and make those thousands of cars get out of the way yourself! :^)
You see how easy it is to throw your own bullshit back at you?
Fake scenarios? Yea, because no one has ever had a medical emergency…also everyone wants to wait for 45minutes because the lazy tow trucker driver wants to take easy way and block the exist rather then the hard way and not block the exist…. (I can match your energy too, my guy) …YOU ARE THE KAREN…the hypocrisy is crazy…just reread your 4th paragraph in your initial comment.
There is a reason why people cannot legally just block exists for their convenience while inconveniencing everyone else. If they do, they usually have cops come over to direct traffic.
You know that most if not all emergency vehicles drive on the shoulder in the highway if it’s gridlocked…right or they get off the highway. If it was gridlocked and no shoulder to drive on…where would the drivers go?
Let’s have no empathy for the drivers that have to sit there for 45mins so the tow trucker drivers take the easy way out. See how easy it is to throw back your bs back at you. If you cannot do the job legally, let another guy who can
Or maybe, just maybe stop making up fake scenarios that didn't happen and show empathy to the guy who's car broke down and need to spends a lot of money to get it out of the way and to a mechanic.
Edit: Stop acting like a Karen, You Karen. Like I literally said above: "If there is an emergency, then it would be a justifiable reason to move"
I never said "because we are better than you". **you** made that up in your mind so you can play the victim by painting a target on yourself.
So, sorry if a tow Truck doing it's job by removing a car that is an active road hazard prevents you from getting your morning Starbucks.
We'll just leave broken down cars where they are next time it happens and let people PUSH their cars where they need to be, I hope you'll be there to help push!
looks like an accident scene. parking lot is blocked obviously there was a accident and maybe the car being towed can't move and the only way the tow truck could get it was in this angle. and your upset you can't get out . 😂 unreal
Okay as a tow truck driver, sometimes straight on to the drive wheels is the best way to do it. (In this case the van is fwd/awd) It won't always roll, especially newer or hybrid/electric vehicles. Or you can't always steer. This one appears to be wrecked in the front quarter if you zoom in and the wheels are turned pretty sharply, I can't see that being intentional. My guess it was wrecked, possible damaged steering, or the CV got knocked out and that tires nothing better than a limp rubber stop. Now in my state unless it a police rotation your liable for additional damaged loading, I don't see cops in your photo. I would take my time too, I'll admit 45 minutes is a little long and you could be exaggerating a bit, but all the same I'd like to see how long it takes you to do it. It's not always quick and we don't want to be working in the middle of a bunch of pissed off people either. You don't call us because things are going the way they should. Have some compassion and take that 45 minutes and breathe.
Yeah, fuck you buddy. Those kinds of tows should be done at the least busy time so as to not block others. If I had to pick my kids up at school and could not just chill for 45mins, I would be suing your company. Tow these cars at 3am if the only way it can be towed is by blocking the exit!!! I don’t give a flying fuck about what is easiest for you and your stupid truck. The car isn’t going anywhere and isn’t broke down in some dangerous place like the middle of the road requiring an immediate tow. Just let it wait until a time when nobody is coming and going.
Send this picture to the tow company. They probably won't fire him, but maybe his boss will ask what the fuck he was thinking, and he'll do better next time.
I've always found it interesting how society has come to irrationally believe that it's an object's fault for breaking, not human miss-use or negligence.
You clearly have your opinions and I clearly have mine, and since neither of us are going to take the time to post unbiased data to corroborate our opinions we're at an impasse...
since neither of us are going to take the time to post unbiased data to corroborate our opinions we're at an impasse
We don't need a data source to realize that your opinion is wrong, since like I said, brand new cars break down all the time. This has nothing to do with neglect on the owners side.
When your car breaks down, you don't get a choice, and when it gets towed, the driver has to go to where the car is. It's like saying you did not think hard enough before parking in a parking lot that was going to get blocked off.
That's insanity. It should take maybe 15 minutes tops, that's if they strap it all the way down while they're there. Normally they'll load it up and move out of the way to secure it the rest of the way from my experience.
45 minutes to load a car? Did they stop for coffee or something?
They must not have called AAA and are paying by the hour.
Must be A service not triple AAA
God AAA is the absolute worst
Idk why people are down voting you. Bad for the tow truck drivers, pays them like shit, and therefore they'll only take AAA calls as an absolute last resort, and you'll often have to wait HOURS for a tow.
AAA is for poor people.

Ole sunk cost fallacy
Gets everyone at some point
I got some co-workers like this. All they have to do is tighten one bolt kick the car out then go for lunch. But noon hits tools down out the door they go.
I would be fuming if that happened to me
I think my now husband must have been annoyed but he was a good sport cracking jokes. I appreciate that because I think it helped calm the storm that was brewing within me. In the end it was my fault for not walking away.
You could have probably walked a mile to the nearest ice cream shop lol
They’ve probably actually been sitting there for 10 and want to be over dramatic about it
I've been spoiled by watching repo videos and seeing expert tow truck drivers do their deed in mere minutes, or seconds in some cases.
Yeah those dudes have special trucks. It still shouldn't take this long though. The driver may be sitting there because the person can't figure out their payment (if he's dropping off) and is getting ready to drag it up and to the yard if they can't pay.
He took a nap.
Meth
He should be towed
Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to load a car on a roll back.
Hop that curb and be on your way
OPs ride:

My first thought exactly lol. After 45 mins, that’s a choice you’re making
I wouldnt want to potentially curb my rims cause another driver couldn't be bothered to make sure they werent obstructing an exit.
Id just chill in my car and watch something.
If you curb your tires you doing it wrong. Your supposed to hit it as stright on as possible.
How often are you purposfully driving over curbs?
Im not doing that in my WRX but you are free to go nuts lol
Bro has successfully curbed his enthusiasm
Where I live. A lot, but I also drive a truck
Fair enough lol
This is the clearance im working with here
Am I really being as unreasonable as people are making me out to be?
https://preview.redd.it/98xatmpz327g1.jpeg?width=840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64a6cb3d1ffb9e3e488091424acd407fe662a80c
No i totally understand dude. My dad doesnt even like me driving over shit in his lifted jeep with AT's.
Beautiful machine btw
Too bad they’re so unreliable
Awww, your dad drives a pavement princess. Cute.
No he hates when I do it. Its only okay when he does lmao
Has rally car, refuses to rally 😂
Well I technically drive an STI but regardless since when is "I dont want to drive over a curb for no reason" a "refusal to rally"?
Im driving a stock STI dude not a prepped rally car. Just cause its rally inspired doesnt mean its literally rally built off the lot.
Man yall are weird lol
Im not saying you cant do it im just saying I dont want to jfc I had no idea this would be so controversial
I’m just giving you a hard time man I get it haha. Only reason I would is because I have a crosstrek.
I agree you definitely shouldn't drive over a curb because if you think you are going to curb your wheel or damage your car driving over a curb you clearly don't know what your doing. Why do you even care lol

All the time! But I've driven Jeeps and pick-ups for 15+ years...
Or take it at an angle but hit it with your tired turned forward the curb.
Could curb the rear tire.
Possible if you don’t know what you’re doing
Must be nice to not have things to do or places to be.
I dont want to drive my car over a curb and yall taking it so personally 😭
I think it's a Toyota sienna. I have one and absolutely no ground clearance and if I park to close the curb it will hit it.
There's a pretty good chance that OP - taking the photo - isn't in the Sienna.
50/50 on whether there's a driver in that Sienna. Might as well be OP for the sake of this story.
I would have been gone in 5 minutes in my car
In my Jeep, yeah. In my Mercedes, nah.
Mercedes b200 will clear a curb lmao
Not my CLE 53 AMG
How many of the cars “stuck” are oversized SUV’s?
100% I would hop the curb in my little hatchback.
100% I would hop the curb in my 09 Camry, idgaf.
Seriously. Most cars of the clearance to hop a 4 inch curb.
Especially a VW Rabbit
Just drive left or right over the curb instead of posting it...
Yeah, I'm sure it's a line of SUV's anyway!
Someone won’t know how and now they to are stuck.
I would’ve found an exit option by now.
Suicide is not the answer
I used to feel that way too, but then I was minorly inconvenienced once and now I crave the sweet release of death
The only good way to handle this is to creep up close to the tow truck and hold the horn down.
Jump the curb slowly
Skill issue? I see many escape routes.
This right here.
Call a Tow truck Tow truck
That’s the slowest tow truck pick ive ever seen
Call a tow truck on him
Climb the curb and go around him 🤷♀️
45m? Sounds like a stretch to me.
Call a tow truck for the tow truck.
Too bad there is snow way out.
Could have easily driven over the curb
Call a tow truck
My lord. How old are you?
In his defense, where else was he supposed to park? Is not like he can move the car.
People say “don’t attribute to malice that can be explained by stupidity” I believe “I attribute all to malice because people are fucking assholes if given a choice to consider others”
45 minutes sounds like an exaggeration. It shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes to load a car.
Boouurns!
no you werent. takes 15 mins max. plus were tf else you want him to load the broken down car...its broken down.
Blue collar give no fucks about others syndrome…work with it daily.
He didn't care.
I’d call a tow truck on him
Does nobody drive a 4 wheel drive?!
Bro sometimes you either wait around for an hr or drive on the curb a little bit.
It's a tow truck. It doesn't matter where you put it dealing with dead vehicles, it's going to be in someone's way.
[removed]
"Trapped near the Olive Garden" would be a good William Shatner Rescue 911 episode
They would probably call it the "Pasta Panic".
"Noodling with Disaster"
I’m always curious how people are able to find stuff like this from a photo! How did you do it?
I saw the signage on the left for Hobby Lobby, Ross, and what I think is Orville (I didn't know that store). Then I saw the "ESL" sign further away in the center. Dang. Well I know who to reach out to if I ever suspect I’m being cheated on.
Or if a truck of some sort is blocking my exit
The crazy thing is after he said all this I zoomed in on the tow truck to verify (by looking up the towing company) and he is correct.
Worked with a guy once that had a little challenge for his coworkers to find out where he lived. Not sure how the game started, it had been going on for years before I started but everyone took a jab at it.

You are creepy. Why can’t you let random strangers stay random?
Does it not trigger some type of innate curiosity, when someone complains on the Internet about being trapped and inconvenienced, and includes a handy photo of the scene, to want to know where this happened? I was curious. So I took it as kind of a little scavenger hunt to figure it out.
No. It triggers being doxxed.

You looking it up out of curiosity is one thing, but it's creepy that you came and posted OP's location as some predator-type flex.
This , go get some fresh air , read a book about reducing stalking on the internet
Hi Rainbolt love your videos
That’s your fault . Go over the curb / grass.
Sometimes, it takes 5 minutes. Sometimes, it takes an hour to drag somebody's shit-brick onto a roll back, strap it up and get on my way.
If there is an emergency then it would be a justifiable reason to move out of the way obviously.
Or, maybe, just maybe, don’t block the exists? They can’t guarantee they can move the tow truck fast enough…every second counts in an emergency.
And to add more to this stupidity: Have you ever been stuck on the highway bumper-to -bumper gridlock? Ever have an emergency vehicle come up from behind who is ALSO stuck in that same traffic?

Let’s have no empathy for the drivers that have to sit there for 45mins so the tow trucker drivers take the easy way out. See how easy it is to throw back your bs back at you. If you cannot do the job legally, let another guy who can
From what I'm seeing, there are no managers here to cry to Karen.

Did you miss the part where OP said they were there for 45 minutes?
shit happens, what about it?
I appreciate you explaining the other side of this. Thank you!
We can see in this very image that’s not the case lmao
Honda van, FWD, easier to load a car's drive tires first.
And there are easily >2 tow truck lengths left of the intersection.
He was giving an example to show how incredibly inconvenient it can be for everyone. Reading comp isn't your strong suit eh?
Okay I can give hundreds of hypotheticals why it is completely unacceptable to block entry to people or emergency vehicles for nearly an hour.
It doesn’t pertain to this post. It doesn’t pertain to this image.
Okay I can give hundreds of hypotheticals why it is completely unacceptable to block entry to people or emergency vehicles for nearly an hour.

Oh good grief! Just drive up over the curb and leave! I’ve done it in my Honda CR-V, and before that in a Honda Civic. Easy. No damage.
What did the police say when you called them?
They said to call Reddit
Ooops. Had to run in for my bathroom break and find some coffee. My badddd.
That's just wrong.
My car can off-road.
looks like an accident scene. parking lot is blocked obviously there was a accident and maybe the car being towed can't move and the only way the tow truck could get it was in this angle. and your upset you can't get out . 😂 unreal
I’d be driving over the curb
Should call a tow truck, on the tow truck.
Someone call a tow truck on the tow truck driver. Give them a taste of their own medicine
I don’t get it. Where’s the tow truck driver?
Me and my Jeep would be home already. 🤣
Call a tow truck
I've heard the paradox of who cuts the barber's hair. I've never thought about the paradox of who tows the tow truck driver.
you don’t become a tow truck driver to make friends
call a tow truck to get the tow truck toed
If they want it toed, they could just take their shoes and socks off and go kick it.
Can you not back up looks like you pulled in there?
Have them towed
You should call the tow truck company to tow the tow truck.
call a tow truck to tow the tow truck
Call another tow truck to tow him. Cause even more chaos.
Call another tow company to tow that truck.
I see two ways out and both curbs can easily be hopped.
How many of those waiting were driving SUVs or trucks? Most cars could even hop that curb to get out.
Why are you sitting there for 45 minutes? I would've hopped that curb after 2-3 minutes max, have no patience for people doing stupid shit.
Call a tow truck.
Hey, guys! Anybody got some beer? Let's partay!
I hate asshats like this.
I’d lay on the horn and not quit till I got out.
Bro I am causing a ruckus
If that car is broken down and won’t move, the wrecker driver doesn’t have much of a choice.
Just go up the curb and through the grass
arg, this is a great peeve. It's not hard to be considerate and still get the job done. This goes for emergency responders especially.
You could safely exit to the left behind him using the ramp and angling off the curb.
Zero risk of vehicle damage
I would’ve pick out that stake at the corner of park space and drive thru it
I bet you could drive forward from that first parking spot and squeeze out past them
Jump the curb, my man
Go Over the curb 😂👍🏼
If you’ve got more than like 5” of clearance, pop the curb man
Should have called a tow truck on him
People are a-holes. No consideration
Can you call a tow truck for another tow truck?
I’d call the police and have the tow truck towed
call the police
Can you change your username please? You are clearly not a rainbow unicorn.
Tow trucks totally pick where cars break down.
wth, my friend operates a tow truck and I watched him do it in less than 15 mins. Tow truck driver must be new or lacks the skill
Send this picture to the tow company. They probably won't fire him, but maybe his boss will ask what the fuck he was thinking, and he'll do better next time.
One of many reasons that I own a truck
Fire marshal would clear that up in 5
I'd be calling the cops
"I've been stuck here for 45 min because some idiot decided to be too cheap to do maintenance on their vehicle and broke down."
FTFY
Even brand new cars break down, so this is a dumb take lol
I've always found it interesting how society has come to irrationally believe that it's an object's fault for breaking, not human miss-use or negligence.
Your argument that cars only break down because of neglect is misguided and wrong.
You clearly have your opinions and I clearly have mine, and since neither of us are going to take the time to post unbiased data to corroborate our opinions we're at an impasse...
Could push it to a more convenient spot.
That's insanity. It should take maybe 15 minutes tops, that's if they strap it all the way down while they're there. Normally they'll load it up and move out of the way to secure it the rest of the way from my experience.
I think I would be calling the police after about 20 minutes.
For what? What the hell is the cop going to do?
Give the idiot a ticket for obstructing traffic
Tell the idiot to move or get ticketed or towed himself.
4x4 truck driver here. Id make my own exit
Tow truck drivers are the most entitled and arrogant. He doesn't gaf guaranteed.
