This is the real mildly infuriating. How hard is it to snap a picture of what’s in front of you? You don’t even have to look at the screen to do it you fucking idiot.
Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway, because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
not only that, the guy could have the movie playing for his kid or even just listening to the audio. His hands are still on the steering wheel, and there is a non zero chance that it really isnt distracting him. Meanwhile taking out your phone, zooming in far enough to see into the next person's car, and taking a picture guarantee you are taking your hands off the steering wheel and are distracted
Exactly. I have a mag car holder on my dash, and it's positioned so when I pick my kid up, or we're having car rides, he can watch something without having a screen right in his face, and I can choose what we watch.
Lets just blame both, because both arent really great examples of what you should be doing while driving.... and who puts the phone all the way there for passengers to see?
Let's get this straight, you're worried about someone else's car, regardless of the reasons, enough to take your own camera out and take a photo or video? Ignore the fact that there could be someone else in the car watching the show; regardless, you were willing to jeopardize your own safety so you could spy on someone else? Wow, you're a real hero!
To be clear, it was stop and go traffic. Picture was taken while stopped so no jeopardizing of anyone's safety. Also the man was not driving well, only reason I noticed in the first place.
And you can’t tell from this image that there ISN’T someone else in the car with him, so YES, it’s an assumption he is watching. You’re either not very bright or purposefully being obtuse.
I didn’t say there wasn’t an assumption. When I said “not much of an assumption” I more meant it’s a safe assumption. Similar to if you showed up with short hair, it’s a safe assumption that you got a haircut.
It’s remarkable how many people in this thread are leaping to the defense of a guy watching a movie while driving in traffic….
Perhaps he was only watching it when stopped, so no jeopardizing of anyone’s safety. You don’t know for certain where his eyes were looking while he was driving. As for him not driving well, maybe he’s just a bad driver.
Huh, hadn't considered that factor. Am from North Dakota. Closest "big" city is more than 6 hours away. I did drive in pheonix in August this year and never had to stop during rush hour, but they had 6 lanes too. And i have driven to minneapolis and Seattle and not run into this problem. My sample size of days there is really low, and usually from weekends though. I hadn't considered it might just be that much busier on the weekdays. Good call out.
I’ve literally seen a grown ass adult watching Steven Universe while driving on the freeway. Phone was planted right above the steering wheel on the windshield.
Full disclosure: I drive an imported car and the aftermarket stereo it came with plays MP4s and MP3s via old school SD card.
I loaded it up with seasons 4-10 of the Simpsons, BUUUUUT I watched these episodes so many times already that I’m simply listening to the episodes at this point.
No need for me to look at the screen, as I have most of the episodes memorized.
Parents like to introduce their kids to the movie they watched as kids, I guess you watched Snow White when you were a kid and the movie was already ~60yo in the 90s. Also, Bee movie has become a meme meaning kids on social media sees a lot of this film and want to watch it.
on top of that, OP zoomed FAR in just to take this photo meaning he had to have his eyes off the road for extended periods of time to get the shot right
I like the part where they are talking about how the Bee society works too perfectly and then it pans out to the intersection with everybody flying through perfectly without hitting each other 😂
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
yup i have a magsafe mount on my ac grill & i watch youtube videos or i listen to music while i drive. hands on the wheel bc its magsafe so i just have an airpod in while i listen & briefly see the content, but prioritizing the road
Stop and go traffic is no excuse to pull your phone out and take a photo. In fact it's way more dangerous as people are far more unpredictable in that traffic. I highly doubt he was actively watching it. Maybe he had kids in the back seat. Regardless, put your phone down and quit putting people's lives at risk
I think he may just be listening to the movie. I do this all the time on long car trips. It's also possible that there's a kid in there, considering this is a kid's movie. (Also, this post is hilariously hypocritical 🤣)
When I do long road trips I'll have my phone on the holder at a 180 and play movies. Just because it's up doesn't mean my eyes are on it 100% of the time. No different than glancing at my mirrors. Plus Shrek is my go to film so I don't even need to see it to enjoy it
I take a commuter bus sometimes across the Bay Bridge from Oakland to SF. I can see down into the cars, I'm not exaggerating, half of the people driving are using their phone.
Before smart phones I saw a guy reading the news paper while driving, the car was moving and he was reading and turning pages like he was sitting on the kitchen table
Look well. According to his eyes and the rearview mirror, he looks to be looking straight ahead. I turn on podcast, TV shows and all kinds of stuff and leave it on while I drive. Just because it's on a phone mount doesn't mean he's watching it
Apparently, so were you
I like the way you think
THIS BEE IS SO FUNNY, IT MAKES ME WANT TO MERGE WITHOUT LOOKING!
YEAH, SEINFIELD!!!
https://i.redd.it/9i0wq18fy86g1.gif
I thought he said rumsfeld?
But Seinfeld acts in the bee movie
How the fuck did I not know this what
He isn’t just the main voice actor, he also co-wrote it
"What's your favorite Transformer, Barry?"
"Bumblebee! Woo, yeah baby!"
Bro
With 7 beers?
Were you sad because you couldn’t get the audio?
The bee movie doesn’t need audio. Everyone already knows all the dialog at this point.
“Honey slaves to the white man!?” Is my favorite part of that whole movie
It's overdone, but "ya like jazz" has had me in a chokehold for YEARS
I remember when the entire bee movie script became a meme
This is the real mildly infuriating. How hard is it to snap a picture of what’s in front of you? You don’t even have to look at the screen to do it you fucking idiot.
According to all known laws of aviation
There is no known way that a bee should be able to fly.
Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway, because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
Yellow black, yellow black, yellow black, yellow black, yellow black, yellow black… Ooh, black and yellow! Yeah, let’s shake it up a little
Looking sharp! No flying in the house, Barry! Your father paid a lot for these stairs.
"Let me take my phone out and use it while behind the wheel to shame another individual using their phone behind the wheel."
OP, pardon me, but you are a fucking dumbass.
not only that, the guy could have the movie playing for his kid or even just listening to the audio. His hands are still on the steering wheel, and there is a non zero chance that it really isnt distracting him. Meanwhile taking out your phone, zooming in far enough to see into the next person's car, and taking a picture guarantee you are taking your hands off the steering wheel and are distracted
The dude is clearly looking at the road in the picture.
Also, the movie was prob on to entertain a kid, not the old man driving whose eyes are looking ahead and not at the phone…
OP could be in the passenger seat
They imply otherwise in their comment downthread :(
They appear to be stopped.
Not much of a risky moved while stopped.
On the freeway?
OP said stop and go traffic.
Those three cars look very close together, so I assume they are stopped.
Color me jealous that you think being stopped on the freeway is unlikely.
Oh god I thought you were a passenger, wtf???
Fair enough, we made assumptions, as did you...
What assumptions did OP make?
That the dude is watching the bee movie. It could reasonably be for a passenger.
There’s a phone on his dash playing the bee movie while he’s driving. That’s not much of an assumption lol
You just described assumption
In the same way that if you showed up tomorrow with shorter hair it would be an assumption that you got your haircut
Maybe he's got a kid in the back seat and just playing a movie to calm the kid down?
Perhaps he was only watching it when stopped, so no jeopardizing of anyone’s safety. You don’t know for certain where his eyes were looking while he was driving. As for him not driving well, maybe he’s just a bad driver.
Don't know why you're getting downvoted, you're just applying op's logic to their own statements
So then why post it here? How is any of this infuriating?
Wonder why he's driving like shit
Stopped on the freeway? That can't be too common
Rush hours are a thing.
So much so they made 3 movies about it.
Out of curiosity, where are you from? This is incredibly common
Im in Baltimore and every single day on my way to work I find myself stopped dead on a 5 lane highway multiple times
Bro Delaware is the worst
Everyone here that’s disagreeing with you doesn’t see the actually point, why the fuck is someone watching a movie while driving a car.
You mean the driver had the bee movie playing.
I doubt a grown adult is watching a movie while driving...
Maybe they have kids in the car?
I’ve literally seen a grown ass adult watching Steven Universe while driving on the freeway. Phone was planted right above the steering wheel on the windshield.
Right? OPs prefrontal cortex is malfunctioning
Or the driver is really watching bee movie
Yeah that was my first thought
When my father and I go on road trips, he puts movies on to listen to and I watch them from the passenger seat lol
Yeah, no. Have seen people with phones on mounts scrolling fucking tik tok while driving. People are fucking idiots.
Critical thinking? On Reddit? How is this possible?
What kids in 2025 are gonna wacth bee movie
Parents like to introduce their kids to the movie they watched as kids, I guess you watched Snow White when you were a kid and the movie was already ~60yo in the 90s. Also, Bee movie has become a meme meaning kids on social media sees a lot of this film and want to watch it.
Speak for yourself. Sent from my FREAKING FOLDING GALAXY PHONE (6)
[removed]
Especially the part in that movie where the distracted driver nearly runs off the road
😂😂😂 taking your phone out and taking a picture while driving to complain about a guy watching a movie while driving. This can’t be real 😂😂😂😂😂
on top of that, OP zoomed FAR in just to take this photo meaning he had to have his eyes off the road for extended periods of time to get the shot right
Had the same thought.
https://preview.redd.it/q3ux4w8aj96g1.png?width=220&format=png&auto=webp&s=18f5c9e2c639e2989a2f695a32bb79482aeb88af
OP never heard of the word
I’ve done this so my kid in the back can watch. I listen but don’t watch.
https://preview.redd.it/6k980lkvgc6g1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c05609eeed569a449ba018abf27bcb18c9b3d4f8
Probably kids in the back, I’ve done this on a long trip before. I wasn’t watching it, but the kids could see it from the back seat.
Seems almost as unsafe as taking out your phone to take a picture of the person driving in front of you on the freeway.
Imagine he fucking dies in a head on collision but the Bee Movie just keeps playing
Okay I'm imagining...
What, you don't enjoy a little jazz?
You sure it wasn't "driving but the bee movie speeds up every time I hit the gas"
At least it was a PG movie ....
He’s just using his car to go from A to Bee…
There probably a toddler in the back seat
I like the part where they are talking about how the Bee society works too perfectly and then it pans out to the intersection with everybody flying through perfectly without hitting each other 😂
At least he wasn't listening to Betty White read the erotic novel "The Hot Chick Who Was Italian or Maybe Some Kind of Spanish."
I mean don't we all just use our phones while watching a movie, at least he's doing something productive /s
guys why are we hating
And clearly, dude is looking at the road.
What a coincidence! Some asshole driving behind me just took out his phone and took a photo of my kids peacefully watching the bee movie
W movie choice
It’s a good movie dawg
Peek irony
OP taking photos of guy watching bee movie while driving on freeway while OP is also driving on freeway.
Makes sense to go on your phone to shame someone else being on their phone.
Op shouldn't you get off your damn phone and focus on the road?
How did you get that photo?
Can't believe it's even legal to have these things in cars at all 🤦♀️
Uhh what?
bees
Your taking photo while driving
You need to start thinking bee
You're watching him through your phone while driving watching him watch a movie while driving
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
probably the guy
This is far more common than you may think
yup i have a magsafe mount on my ac grill & i watch youtube videos or i listen to music while i drive. hands on the wheel bc its magsafe so i just have an airpod in while i listen & briefly see the content, but prioritizing the road
You've heard of Drive-in Theatre, now get ready for Driv-ing Theatre
Excellent use of free will
Yes, also dont lie, we can see that you also were watching it along with him.
Wrong sub needs to be ok mildyinteresting
There are so many good movies out there guys. Do not die for The Bee Movie.
I'm willing to die for Barry Bee Benson
He has a presentation at work about the Bee Movie and did not prepare
Don't cars have built-in media player?
The bee movie but every turn is .99 slower
You dont think maybe a kid watched it and not the driver?
To be faaair,
So were you...
It looks like it's the rear screen based on size.
While following a van in central florida traffic, the van in front was watching a similar movie. ( Incredibles, maybe. It was one of those)
It's large enough for me to watch and a pleasant refuge away from the stop and go traffic.
Free will is a hell of a thing
how does this infuriate you in any way
If you took a picture while driving, you are the problem
Can you blame them, that's a funny movie
If i was watching the Bee Movie I would want to die too…
At least you were taking pictures while driving on the same freeway
WhAtS tHe DeAl wITH pEopLe wAtChInG My MOvIeS In TrAfFic?!
I think he may just be listening to the movie. I do this all the time on long car trips. It's also possible that there's a kid in there, considering this is a kid's movie. (Also, this post is hilariously hypocritical 🤣)
i’m as annoyed at you deciding to photograph them while driving yourself as i am at them for watching the bee movie on their phone while driving.
You are using your phone to take a picture while driving on the freeway... the dude in front of you is an idiot but so are you
IT'S CALLED MULTI-TASKING!
Does he like jazz?
a man of culture.
...and every time they say Bee, he goes faster?
When I do long road trips I'll have my phone on the holder at a 180 and play movies. Just because it's up doesn't mean my eyes are on it 100% of the time. No different than glancing at my mirrors. Plus Shrek is my go to film so I don't even need to see it to enjoy it
Do you not like the bee movie?
Ironic
What?
Ironic
I saw someone do this with Frozen 💀💀💀
Nah the real crime is the bee movie
Ya like jazz?
I mean it is the bee movie, what else you supposed to do
Do you like jazz?
I take a commuter bus sometimes across the Bay Bridge from Oakland to SF. I can see down into the cars, I'm not exaggerating, half of the people driving are using their phone.
By the laws of nature, bees should not be able to fly, yet they do. By the laws of man, idiots should not be allowed to drive, yet they do.
On a poodle!
He was taking the beeway, not the freeway
So you took out your phone to make a picture while driving
Do you like jazz?
Legend.
When he crashes:
When my dog misbehaves I always tell him I will sell him to Ray Liotta, so he can work as honey bee cause he sucks as a dog
The bee movie?! So nostalgic. Good times man , but please dont watch while driving.
Absolutely based
I'd be mildly infuriated too if I was subjected to that cinematic trash fire.
Send him some recommendations.
DO YOU LIKE JAZZ ?
Before smart phones I saw a guy reading the news paper while driving, the car was moving and he was reading and turning pages like he was sitting on the kitchen table
Any other movie and that might be a crime
And he posts "that guy behind me watches bee movie on the screen in my car on the freeway"
Ya like jazz
Damn Beemer drivers
OP doesn't like jazz. Noted
I don’t see a problem.
Probably kids somewhere in the car watching it.
OP getting SLAMMED
Absolute irony that it’s this scene in particular.
I'm guessing based off the partial plate I see that you're in Utah? Definitely tracks for the drivers here
I'm more annoyed by your picture than his movie.
Guy behind him was on his phone
And you weren't?
The bee is worth the accident
Look well. According to his eyes and the rearview mirror, he looks to be looking straight ahead. I turn on podcast, TV shows and all kinds of stuff and leave it on while I drive. Just because it's on a phone mount doesn't mean he's watching it
OP is just jealous
Unfathomably based
Kids in the backseat
I get it to be honest
He was or kids in the back seat were?
Honestly, good for him
Wait till you see what I play on my center screen while I drive!
Once I followed a car in my bike for 40 mins because they were watching Law and Order SVU
LOL, so that’s what it looks like driving behind me.
(Not “the bee movie”, but certainly whatever series I’m binging. Currently Mad Men)
Ugh. Terrible movie.
So what Japanese people have been doing this since the 2000s
Dude's eyes are pointed straight ahead.
Movie is ass
I mean... I do this...
Granted its city driving, and it's usually traffic to traffic movement here in the Philippines.
But i either have Netflix on or a YouTube video as background noise while i drive, and i have something to watch when im eventually stuck in traffic.
I do find it interesting(and telling) when someone complains about distracting driving by snapping a photo/filming. From the driver seat.
