Personally I don't mind the idea of crossovers in Warframe, so long as they go the Helldivers route of keeping it to things that A. could be reasonably seen in-universe and B. aren't too immersion-breaking rather than Ash running around in a Batman skin while mowing down enemies with, say, the Monado
I'd like a Dragon Ball crossover but without trying to make it a focal point. Focus it on the artificial humans such as No. 8. Also an emphemera thats like a Dragon Ball aura.
My point is, you can make anything work, it just requires heavy effort. I hope DE understands that even if they go with a crossover more easy.
I still want NMS and Warframe to do a collab, with the NMS side getting a Railjack-centric Expedition that lets you have a Railjack as a Corvette (a buildable ship) alongside a Multitool based on the Dera
and the Warframe side getting a Traveller Drifter Suit, an Autophage Staff Speargun/Polearm skin, and a Multitool Pistol/Rifle skin
The thing is... I have. 70 hours in that magnificent game.
Making this meme I did have an idea for how it could work out. Simply a quest that is in line with the Warframe universe that just incorporates elements from the game.
It could be something as "small" a simple Warframe side quest that introduces the new Warframe. One that is hidden in the depths of the void in a similar "world" as the Drifter was in Duviri.
A quest that leads us to unlock a new mission. That mission would incorporate a new tileset with a new mission type. Farming that mission would allow you to get the parts for the Warframe.
This quest functionally would be no different than Atlas's quest and even less "complex" than the Vallis Undermine update.
"A painter banished to the Void. It alone painted its world" the theme.
Your idea is even worse than i imagined. You are not even asking to introduce items that have nothing to do with Warframe just because you cant get over how good playing E33 was, you are literally asking for the introduction and alteration of lore with E33.
Because duviri only exists due to the drifter/operator split. Having a third secret world would require yet another version of the operator to be split for it to make sense why we find it/why it would exist. Not only that but E33 and warframe have very very different tones and combining them is borderline heresy. Not only would none of the enemies in 33 show up as even a sneeze mark on the warframe powerscale, but they don't fit the art style or direction warframe has. A Balatro collab would make more sense. Could be a game that amir is coding on his computer, or even silksong/hollow knight. Ham fisting another title in with no links to established lore is a bad idea, not to mention i will happily shit on any game that uses generative ai for code and story
Duviri itself is a product of the Drifter's conceptual embodiment, it doesn't have to do with the Drifter-Operator split. Given enough time, anyone would probably end up in similar situations. It just that the Drifter remained sane enough to actually made it
Although I have to acknowledge it now that perhaps making a "copy" of Duviri undermines its significance as it ceases to be unique.
I'm sorry but "Warframe should severely alter its lore and story to fit in my latest fixation" is just not a good idea. E33 is nice and all, but I think the community likes Warframe as is, and its current direction.
Crossovers are for games in desperate need of branding, identity and/or content. Warframe needs none of those.
You are incorrect yet again. By acknowledging that it was the drifter who created duviri through conceptual embodiment you have proved my point. Duviri exists because the drifter/operator split. The operator is the timeline where you made a deal with wally and got out of the ship, and the drifter is the tineline where you didn't, as stated almost exactly in the new war. Tenno are powerful but even the one you control was not a god in their own world they made, simply a pawn. No other operator or warframe could make what you propose, and if any of them could it would render wally a non-threat at that point because they could then theoretically create a string of pocket dimensions and transplant everyone whenever the murmur or wally started investing that dimension again
Because the Deep Void and Duviri are essential parts of the story, lore and world building, you want to take that and turn it into something unimportant that can be usef for anything because you cant manage finishing a game you loved.
And even if it's just a mission to get a frame we get another problem, using a whole update not for lore, not for worldbuilding, just for a collab with a game that doesnt even have anything to do with Warframe.
Your idea is like making a Star Wars and Pokemon collab where Ash is told that he is the second chosen one of the Force.
"A painter banished to the Void. It alone painted its world"
Hell, look at that line you wrote, you want a frame with Wally's power levels, if not stronger and it wouldnt even be from Warframe since it would be another game's collaboration. Kullervo is a Warframe forgotten and casted to the Void that in Duviri changed his shape to look "Duviri-like", but your E33 Warframe is actually to create a whole new world by himself.
Hell, look at that line you wrote, you want a frame with Wally's power levels, if not stronger and it wouldnt even be from Warframe since it would be another game's collaboration.
This is literally just conceptual embodiment. Duviri was the product of the Drifter's conceptual embodiment and it had nothing to do with Wally's deal. Perchance, the only thing that the deal enabled is for the Drifter to be sane for long enough for Duviri to be actually created.
Although, taking away Duviri's uniqueness by creating a "copy" of it may not have been the best idea. Mistake on my part
This is literally just conceptual embodiment. Duviri was the product of the Drifter's conceptual embodiment and it had nothing to do with Wally's dea
And what does that matter? You keep repeating this in comments as if it matters. Conceptual embodiment is a unique ability of the Void that completely violates reality wich is OP as hell and cant be a Warframe ability and also is situational since is a reaction to emotions, not something you can do whenever you want. Duviri was created because the Drifter emotions were completely out of control due to being alone in the Deep Void surrounded by Angels trying to kill them. And you want a Frame to have all that power and abilities but also under control and without the situations.
rchance, the only thing that the deal enabled is for the Drifter to be sane for long enough for Duviri to be actually created.
The deal had nothing to do (he even tells the Drifter that the deal was to save the others, not them), why i mention Wally is because he tried to take over Duviri more than once and he ALWAYS failled, and when he finally could get it by getting a body to sit on the throne what happened is that the Murmur fused with Duviri, you are literally telling me that your collab Warframe could do that and more, even easier than him. A Warframe with more power and control over the Void than The Man in the Wall.
And this of course without mentioning the Frames that actually ended in the Deep Void or Duviri.
Sevagoth was buried in the Deep Void and he actually was just as weak as when he was buried to the point where the power in Sevagoth was barely enough to reunite with the Shadow, he didnt built a whole world.
Kullervo got to Duviri and what happened is that his body became a puppet to act in a theater telling his story as a tale.
But your E33 Warframe actually can use the Void to create a whole new world.
Oh I see. There appears to be a misunderstanding I think.
I didn't wanna say that the WARFRAME itself would have abilities of conceptual embodiment but it being stranded in the Void would make a similar situation to Duviri's. The Void's conceptual embodiment would create "its world", not the Warframe itself.
Dante's whole gist is that he maintained his psyche and mental stability post-"Warframe-ifcation"
Due to his nature as a Warframe, Dante was unable to speak with a conventional voice; instead, he spoke through his writing, and his voice was indeed beautiful.
A natural scholar, Dante possessed an affinity for knowledge, and often shared the Entrati's interest with bones and the dead. He even went on to publish some of the finest works detailing ancient Earth archaeology, something that was considered impossible for a mere Warframe to accomplish.
Because a Warframe couldn't be banished to the Void. Their power comes from channeling void energy and controlling it. Duviri only exists because the Drifter didn't take a deal and learned to harness the void energy by themselves instead of being gifted that power.
Is not even controlling the Void, what happened was that the Operator who didnt have powers was alone at the end and the situation of being alone in the Zariman, deep in the Void and surrounded by Angels was so catastrophic for their mind that the Void was able to conceptually embody a whole world from their emotions.
That's also why this is such a bad idea, so important for the lore and unique at the same time and OP wants that repeated for a collabo.
Warframes are not themselves associated with the Void (The Heart of Deimos played a key part in enhancing the Tenno's transference while they were "sleeping" in the Reservoirs).
Duviri is a product of the Drifter's conceptual embodiment, not specifically their deal with Wally.
Although I have to acknowledge it now that perhaps making a "copy" of Duviri undermines its significance as it ceases to be unique.
Perfect opportunity to introduce a heavily-orienred summoner. Both Caliban and Oraxia's summons are more support and utility than they are offensive tools. As for Nekros, I wouldn't call a Necromancer the same as a summoner.
Good point. Perhaps an ability/passive that encourages the player to also fight alongside the summons? Have the summons "follow" your own agency. You fight enemies, they also do etc etc
Maybe this could be mitigated by the summons being coupled to you being active somehow. For example the more enemies you kill, the stronger and more aggressive they get or maybe couple it to movement or combo counter idk. More importantly if you stay idle, they stay idle and the buffs start to decay - I think that would pretty much solve that problem
Caliban? If you put Uriel then yeah that statement would be correct but Caliban + his augment makes it so his summon can nuke the entire room alone, sure they have some support capability but most use his summon for damage first and support second. Heck I've seen someone run Caliban to lvl cap only spamming skill 1 and letting the summon do the job. (Granted that is only one of his summon but still, the versatility is still good.)
Good point. Although I do feel like the augment takes away from a summoner's "versatile" playstyle as you are kinda forced to only use 1 of his 3 summons
I think there should be an augment that lets you summon one of each type of Sentient as one summon (a la Wisp's fused thingie augment) so that you can benefit from Razor Mortar while also being able to get the buffs from the other 2 sentients
While yes, it certainly pushes you on to only using one type, you honestly can still pop his summulust if you're in a tricky situation (though I can't find any scenario where his melee summon is preferred.)
People in this thread are acting like a collab would “ruin the identity” of the game as if somehow DE would suddenly lose their art direction and vision after everything they’ve given us so far. 🙄
Tho i'm SO tired of hearing about E33. So much so that i was actually glad they got disqualified from the indie awards for the use of AI.
(To make it clear, from what i read, NO part of the game was actually made by AI, they used AI for base models to then take inspiration from and made their own.)
I love that they used Ai assets when they initially were getting investors. The pricks probably creamed their knickers thinking this would be an Ai game and then Sandfall just went and made a masterpiece with no Ai.
(To make it clear, from what i read, NO part of the game was actually made by AI, they used AI for base models to then take inspiration from and made their own.)
Nono. You've got it mixed up with what Larian Studios said about genAI. Sandfall barely used any AI. It was just a point in 2022 that they grabbed placeholder assets made from AI and just forgot that one.. which was patched out all the way back in May.
The Indie Awards DQ was mostly the product of a misunderstand.. and arguably an attempt to go viral.
You make the claim they didn't use AI based on nothing as well.
They could've very easily used AI in parts of the process but kept it a more hidden secret than Sandfall did --- which, right or wrong, they would've gotten away with had it not been for that slip-up.
I think such collab (it even could be called that) would work only on Duviri scale, like some kind of... you know... painting itself... eternalism and all that... anything that would obfuscate and reimagine both core concepts in the process of mixing mediums. Anyway, painter frame and all that, but consider what normal Warframe gameplay is and what other famous painters in history did, it's just too dangerous to do directly, and DE is well aware of all those meme games.
It's probably not even a lukewarm take, but I'm strongly against any kind of collab in Warframe.
Not just because Warframe has a really strong art direction, where anything outside of that sticks out like a sore thumb.
But also because it would open a huge floodgate, what'll inevitably lead to warframe looking like a korean mmo.
edit: There's no official, ongoing crossover between Warframe and Path of Exile (PoE), but the idea is popular due to their similar looter-shooter, action RPG genres, with fans joking about a fake 2019 April Fool's event called "Path of Warframe: The Quest for the Average Neck".
A frame with an exalted rapier, tht has ink/flower petals as effects with abilities similar to some of Maelle's skills would go so hard
DE i beg of you give me a new rapier, please DE there are only 3 Rapiers in the game, it has been years DE, please
They'll get right on that. Right after they rework archwing and chroma... No sooner.
only after a 3rd necramech gets added
Then, get Jennifer English for the red-haired protoframe
Jennifer English is always a pleasure to hear in anything, shes so good
Melle weapon could be a Incarnon Spear gune. Shooting bolts of ink, and when transformed, it acts as a melee that slashes out ink in waves
You forgot that cod mobile is slop that wants nothing but money
And that 2b has found herself anywhere and everywhere
Sorry man unspoken rule but Warframe doesn’t do collabs.
Though an unrelated painter frame would be cool
Please no, this isn't Fortnite. If you wanna play something from X Intellectual Property, go play that game.

The Unreal Tournament crossover felt ok though, given DE's history with the series.
Well aware of that, just used it as an example in case of anyone reading the first few words and immediately going "ewwww yucky crossover"
I'd like a Dragon Ball crossover but without trying to make it a focal point. Focus it on the artificial humans such as No. 8. Also an emphemera thats like a Dragon Ball aura.

Super saiyan rhino would go hard

Why would it be dera based when the omni-tool exists? Also wouldnt mind this collab
I'm aware the Multitool is a thing, I'm saying that a Multitool that is basically the Dera would fit as an expedition reward
Though I think the Omni fits better than the Dera
The thing is... I have. 70 hours in that magnificent game.

I believe that's what led to Uriel

Summons with bad Ai
No. Don't want Warframe to become anothe slop ass game with no soul, just as much crap as possible
People in this thread are acting like a collab would “ruin the identity” of the game as if somehow DE would suddenly lose their art direction and vision after everything they’ve given us so far. 🙄

Oh, okay then.
They got disqualified for the use of AI allowing Blue Prince to win, a game that used AI too lmao
Blue Prince did not use AI, the Escapist claimed that it did based on literally nothing, and have since retracted the story.

no. warframe should never collab with slopedition 33
Painters seem to be really prevalent in other genres like anime/gacha games, Nintendo and JRPGs. I’m surprised we don’t have one yet tbh
Please no, we already got one Fr*nch character this year.
Actually it's 2
Oh God no
Oui oui
Finally, a frame with bare feet
They all have bare feet... they're all canonically naked.
I think such collab (it even could be called that) would work only on Duviri scale, like some kind of... you know... painting itself... eternalism and all that... anything that would obfuscate and reimagine both core concepts in the process of mixing mediums. I don't wanna go get the Twitter link but: they played MTG after The Game Awards. It's on Rebb Twitter
Just found it. They were opening mtg booster packs.
Next warframe is those expedition 60 dudes flexing in front of wally
Fuck collabs
I hate how 1999 characters pronounce Aoi's name
It's probably not even a lukewarm take, but I'm strongly against any kind of collab in Warframe. I play Magic the Gathering, and next year we have 7 set releases; only 3 of those seven even take place in Magic's canon setting.
I want crossover Marvel comics culture to fucking die already.

E33 if Tenno was there or something, idk.
Visually Dagath’s face-hole is close.
Just no, keep collabs out of Warframe.
Warframe should only do collabs with properties that match their art direction and story. Full stop
Great so first its dinosaur frame that i cant live without and now a painter frame 🥃🗿STOP MAKING ME WANT THINGS
No.
there was a Collab with path of exile, so why not lol
We had a Collab with PoE??? When? Where?
it's been years, don't really remember
around the release of plains of eidolon maybe?
edit: There's no official, ongoing crossover between Warframe and Path of Exile (PoE), but the idea is popular due to their similar looter-shooter, action RPG genres, with fans joking about a fake 2019 April Fool's event called "Path of Warframe: The Quest for the Average Neck".
apparently it was only a meme
