It's funny because during the mission I had a feeling I should let the carriage be destroyed

    parent root
    61 points Fortune86

I didn't trigger it myself, but apparently if the carriage's health gets low enough it basically threatens emergency continuity with you as the new body.

    parent root
    18 points Driftedryan

I heard about that but I don't know what happens

    parent root
    32 points Fortune86

Probably standard game over or mission retry.

But eternalism might mean somewhere out there is a version of Ballas wearing our body.

    parent root
    22 points 2ndTaken_username

I heavily doubt it. If the Tenno failed to protect Ballas then it means the Anarchs overwhelmed Ballas and Tenno both.

    I think they mean after

    parent root
    7 points nameless980

It does. Unrelated but that mission reminded me how to crowd manage with a bow that's not the Nataruk, Kuva Branma, or Lenz.

    parent root
    4 points ReactorBoi

What would actually happen if someone tried continuity with a Tenno? Is such a thing ever mentioned?

    parent root
    4 points Fortune86

Well it must at least be possible in theory as the older Grineer Queen tries it on the Operator in The War Within. I'm assuming she wouldn't have tried it if there had been a recorded attempt that failed. So either it's never been attempted or it has and it worked.

Possible future quest? Meeting a Tenno who was taken over by and Orokin?

    parent root
    9 points inemsn

If memory serves, the Voruna leverian entry specifically tells the story of an orokin who wanted to try to execute continuity with voruna's operator. Voruna arrived in the nick of time and stopped the ritual, instead taking the kuva onto herself, becoming one with her four wolves, hence voruna's gimmick.

Hidden leverian lore strikes again. NO ONE appreciates my boy Drusus, no wonder he went bankrupt.

    parent root
    3 points Fortune86

It's been a while since I checked in with Drusus (not since the event I think?) so yeah I clean forgot about Voruna and her lore.

However that still means we don't really know if Continuity would work on an Operator or not, since the process was interrupted.

    parent root
    1 points PaxEthenica

It doesn't end well for the Orokin desperate enough to try Continuity with a mind partially existing in the Void.

I love how ironic it all felt. Here we are, trying to make sure some rebels don't ruin the best chance we've ever gotten at achieving peace.

And then it turns out the guy they send to evaluate the treaty is the last person in the entire universe that would actually want peace.

It really felt cathartic when we are reminded, once again, that we don't hate Ball-aSS enough.

    parent
    59 points SirSlowpoke

Funny enough, Ballas was largely neutral on the peace treaty and was the deciding vote to sign it and then had to be convinced by Nitokh afterwards to go back on it.

    parent root
    45 points ArchpaladinZ

True. Though I suspect, as has been suggested elsewhere, that this was also the opportunity Ballas wanted to try and force Margulis away from the Tenno.

With the blame for the failed treaty falling on our Tenno and Margulis' protection of them, it gives Ballas all he needs to set up the dilemma that kills Margulis (because he's so arrogant that he's genuinely surprised she'd rather protect the Tenno than save her own skin).

This is the part I was confused about after the quest. I was like, "Why would Ballas do all that if he knew the love of his life would get killed?

But the way you framed it as "Ballas didn't even consider it" makes a ton of sense.

I think we will see more quests inside of the old peace. We barely dipped into the archon lore. We only saw Amar, but there is still Boreal, Nira, and Pazuul.

This, as well as seeing the MiTW's next move, will likely be coming in another quest.

Also, based on one sentence that Lotus said in the quest, I think we will find other sentients with the ability to heal. But that is probably unlikely as it's just one line of dialogue.

I failed the mission the first time, I choose to believe that timeline still exists

    parent
    15 points Appearance_Better

Another timeline is, we know its ball ass, we ditch it and run outside of a 700m radius to prevent emergency continuity and let it all burn

    parent root
    8 points proesito

Funny enough, if you fail then the vhicle does an emergency continuity to keep Ballas alive, meaning that if you fail Ballas gets your body.

    parent root
    1 points LesbianVelociraptor

Even funnier is I think that was Ballas' plan.

I think he was like "Tenno suck, I'll prove it and that an Orokin would use their power better!" and used his Anarch Dax forces to try to Continuity into us.

We just so happened to be the only valid Continuity target? Nothing Ballas does like this is accidental. We foil his plan to steal the Operator's body and I think that's what makes him pivot to destroying the Xenoflora.
