Girls: Always the back.
Guys: Front or back, depending on you ride... it dude's just on the phone the whole time, go back. If dude's friendly you want a chat and front seat doesn't have all their crap on it - then in the front.
If you just grab a cab and jump in - back seats on the outside fill first, then front passenger, then middle back.
However... If you're out the front of crown you go to the first cab and counter offer their ridiculous fee, then offer them a bj instead. They're going to refuse. Repeat this for the next cab or two. Then accept the next one at the stupidly inflated price and jump in front and wave to the others as he drives past them.
In the back.
I sit in the back behind the passenger seat. I feel safer being in the back and I think the driver feels safer if Iām not directly behind them.
This is the correct answer
Back
Used to be front, but covid and uber made u sit in the back ... I should change back to front passenger
Feels like a lifetime ago and yet also, like only yesterday
No, you shouldn't
Telling you as a driver: if you don't need to sit in the front for a particular reason, sit in the back.

as a girl i often ride at the front
I always do unless I'm with someone else so we both sit in the back
Thank you for a gendered perspective.
I ask the driver if it's ok to sit in the front. I've never had one say no.
Because passengers will often one star them for "ignoring requests"
As a uber drive myself Pls seat at back cz front is kinda personal for us
Makes sense. Thanks for the insight.
Depends.

I sit in the back but I'm a woman
In the back, passenger side
Front passenger seat certainly used to be the norm, and it's what I still do.
Curious, when was it the norm?
It hasn't been for a long while now. Not seven years at least.
For about a century after the invention of the taxicab in Australia? I wasn't tracking any shift away from it, certainly not before COVID.
It's still very much the norm in my circle of friends and family, across a spread of ages, backgrounds, SES and parts of the country.
Back passenger because I'm not a psycho lol
Lol! I guess this gives me some insight for how it might be perceived if I try to sit in front passenger seat š
I ride in the front because we're both just people in a car, going somewhere
Except that's not the case. You are a passenger, they are your driver and being in close proximity is awkward for the vast majority of drivers.
