Hi all, I am new to the city and love the vibe of fitzroy/collingwood/brunswick, and wanted to ask where I could socialize and mingle with these folks on a night out.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I meant certain venues like say Hope St Radio etc.

Is hope st radio not a place they go to?
The Hope St Radio crowd is more trust fund babies pretending to be artsy rather than actually being artsy. Although at least it's not full of young corporate types like Brunswick Street is since 2020
Nah hope st is great! Collingwood yards in general is a Great hub for markets, parties too but didn’t say it cos I knew you already knew about it :)
Yeah makes sense, thanks!
I'd suggest checking out art galleries. If you want a drink then good places with more artsy people are Cafe Gummo, The Evelyn, Black Cat. If you like clubbing, check out Miscellania.
I'd suggest attending some gallery openings. The same people will do the opening rounds, that way you can meet and suss it out.
2nd this! I’d go to a lot of small exhibition opening nights in my early to mid 20s when I was a poor fine arts student. They always had free booze haha! I would see lots of familiar faces attending each time, and made quite a few friends. Beinart Gallery is still a favourite.
As stated numerous times above, but also check out Footscray and sometimes you can get lucky with a few country pub gigs.
If you're feeling seriously artsy, The Victorian Artists Society runs casual portrait and life drawing sessions on Fridays and Saturdays. BYO art supplies, cash or card at the door. They will restart in February.
They're a 5 minute walk from Parliament Station, near the CBD.
Any of the local pubs and bars! Try High Note, Raffys, Tramway, Railway on Nicholson St, Capers
How old are you? The Ev in Fitzroy is usually pumping
I’m 26
Miscellania
Nastys in Thornbury, Gummo, Bar 303, The old bar, the pinnacle- my son loves the caretakers in the city. What specific artsy are you into?
Meat Market in North Melbourne
For fun vibes and good drinks: Bahama Gold, Slowpoke For lowkey vibes and bangin drinks: Babines in Collingwood, Bar Liberty, Black Pearl More cheap/pub/vibes: Builders Arms, the Gertrude, the Black Cat
Hell's Kitchen, the Tote, Old Bar, Northcote Social Club
Fuk all this, go to a gay bar, get drunk, and do something you regret. That's true art.
