I went to Copacabana for New Year's once. OMG. There were two million people on the beach, with about a dozen boats out on the water shooting off fireworks. That is an EPIC place.

His wife did some shopping downstairs with their (at the time) young children while he did the signing upstairs, and she was one of the most stunning people I’ve ever seen in real life. Mostly because she was so amazingly tall. We had lots of famous people do signings or shopping with us, and those two were lovely. She came across as a down to earth person living a very good life.

But both of these records are still more impressive than the 94’ Rod Stewart IMHO. It was a small part of a news year’s eve show that had a lot of others artists and people were watching and going for him, like they did for Madonna and Lady Gaga.
That makes sense. I remember reading somewhere that the largest concert ever was Rod Stewart of all people, at Copacabanna, because it was a free concert. Now I just looked this up and it's the same idea. They sure know how to party in Rio

I feel like having that many people next to the ocean is incredibly dangerous. If things get overcrowded people will end up being pushed into the water
