How could you possibly forget to finish literally the best MCU show? (Minus the ones that were on Netflix first like Daredevil and Jessica Jones and even then... idk, Hawkeye was reeeeeeally good).
That’s very true yeah there are some good Christmas moments in some other MCU movies💚❤️like Iron Man too. You know the shots are very beautiful, but Hawkeye definitely 💯 yeah it’s even listed under the holiday collection on Disney+🙌🎄
Is Home Alone a Christmas movie though? It takes place at Christmas, sure, but if the reason the family was leaving was spring break, the movie could remain unchanged besides like five lines. When you say "a Christmas movie", I think like Polar Express, Elf, Grinch... Y'know, Christmas needs to be a notable part of the plot, I feel.
- the McCallisters and all of their neighours were leaving the city for Christmas break. And we know their neighbours did too because 1) Wet Bandits were talking about robbing everyone and Kevin's house being the crown jewel, and 2) and we already saw a neighbour's house being robbed (when Kevin broke into the neighbours' hosue to call the police at the end, there was water running). There wouldn't be a plausible explanation for everyone on the street to leave at the same time if it weren't for Christmas (even in the summer people work but it's more probable they're all have break from work during Christmastime)
- Kevin hid in the church's nativity scene to escape Marvin and Harry. No Christmas = no nativity scene and no other decorations for Kevin to hide in time
- Kevin went to church where he talked to the scary neighbour. Marley's granddaughter was in the choir, practicing for Christmass mass. There would be no reason for her to practice (and for Marley to watch her) at any other point in time
- Marley was shoveling the driveway when Kevin and Buzz were watching him. He also saved Kevin later with a shivel, which he wouldn't have had if it wasn't winter.
- the reason why the McCallisters couldn't get home was because all flights were booked for Christmas. No other time period or holiday could give them such troubles returning home, not even Thanksgiving or Easter.
- Christmas gave Kevin the excuse to throw the fake Christmas party to scare off Wet Bandits and to use the decirations to defeat them. He wouldn't be able to freeze the staircase or put up a Christmas tree without suspiction at any other point in time
- there is probably more proof but i don't remember it now
Let's just do the conclusion, scary guy hit both Marv and harry with a fuckin shove to save Kevinl. No ones carrying around a shovel in spring in Chicago.
That example was just my opinion. Not really relevant to the original comment. But also Christmas is a bit relevant, the lack of flights home was due to Christmas. I don’t think that’s as much of a problem on spring break? And everyone was busy and out of town due to Christmas this doesn’t happen for entire family’s on spring break.
And it literally takes place on Christmas lol. And I think New Years towards the end right? Either way it follows themes of family and whatnot’s with Tony destroying all the suits because his obsession is ruining the relationship between him and Pepper in the movie (despite his obsession being the reason why they win in the end 🙄😂). So I definitely agree that it’s a Christmas movie.
While those 3 points make sense, it seems more like all 3 need to be present. If this is a serious post/discussion, then I'd say the source of that graphic also matters. I'm not letting some rando define Christmas movies for the entire human race just because they had internet access and figured out how to post a picture online.
It is not a movie about Christmas, which is what a Christmas movie is. It's a movie that takes place during Christmas, but Christmas is not the main focus.
Yes.
Hawkeye is the best MCU Christmas content imo
Truuuuee! I forgot to finish Hawkeye, but it was good up until where I watched it!
Bro, you have to finish it.
Bro, you know it bro.
How could you possibly forget to finish literally the best MCU show? (Minus the ones that were on Netflix first like Daredevil and Jessica Jones and even then... idk, Hawkeye was reeeeeeally good).
Good, yes. Best? Lol.
What's the best then? Fucking Moon Knight? I suppose in all seriousness you're probably going to say Loki. Loki was dope but I liked Hawkeye far more.
No Way Home is technically a Christmas movie as well.
[deleted]
But Homecoming didn’t have any Christmas scenes in it. No Way Home had 2 Christmas scenes.
Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special holds that title, sorry.
That’s very true yeah there are some good Christmas moments in some other MCU movies💚❤️like Iron Man too. You know the shots are very beautiful, but Hawkeye definitely 💯 yeah it’s even listed under the holiday collection on Disney+🙌🎄
It’s Shane Black. So, yes.
This is the answer, Shane rules Christmas lol
If die hard is, this is as well. Now if she says no to both and only ones like Home alone I'll take that take too.

HA! Great quote
Die Hard is much more a Christmas movie than Iron Man 3.
If you take Christmas out Die Hard doesn't happen. If you take Christmas out Iron Man 3 does happen.
Ironma is a xmas movie because its like marvel hallmark movie.
EXACTLY!! Especially at the end with the kid’s Christmas miracle from Tony lol 😂

All that was missing was Ode to Joy playing somewhere.
Yes. I'm watching it right now.
I feel like Spider-Man : No Way Home is as well
Christmas doesn't matter to the story of Iron Man 3 so no it isn't a Christmas movie.
The first rule of Christmas movies is…if you have to ask if it is…it isn’t.
But you can still watch it at Christmastime!
Definitely. Take ‘em to church.
Watched it Christmas Eve, so I think so
As about as much as X-Men 1 because of snow, which is what we watched.
It's Shane Black, of course it's a Christmas movie!
The way I deem things a Christmas movie: Do the events of the movie happen because of Christmas?
Yup.
Why does no one call out Gremlins as a Christmas movie
Because it's a known Christmas movie?
Well, I feel like it’s just non-questionable lol. I aint never meet someone who says it aint 😂
It's listed in the Christmas section on Disney+ so
It is definitely a Christmas movie like there are Christmas trees and snow come onnnnn
This is what I put on this morning for Christmas, despite the fact it is my least favorite Iron Man film, so yes.
Very much so
Yes.
All I want to know. What happened to Shane Black on Christmas?
If it happens at Christmas, it’s a Christmas movie.
BLUEY CAMPER 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Yea, the little one loves her mama’s present to her lol 😂

Whats wild is that jet packs and backpack mounted nerf guns are canon in the BCU

I watch it on Christmas
I think all Shane Black movies are Christmas movies by default.
My rule is if u think it is, then it is, it’s that simple, no reason to stop you from finding a fun tradition
Anything is a Christmas movie if you watch it on christmas
Yes, see point 2

So a Christmas movie only needs to meet one of 3??
While those 3 points make sense, it seems more like all 3 need to be present. If this is a serious post/discussion, then I'd say the source of that graphic also matters. You know how every bourbon is whiskey, but not every whiskey can be bourbon?
Every Shane Black movie is a Christmas movie, but not every Christmas movie is a Shane Black movie.
Truuuuuueee. As a whiskey man myself, I completely understand the correlation lol.

It released in May of 2013. So we ended up getting Christmas in May?
Like summer in December with a flight to Dubai lol 😂
Thats an ANY day movie friend
It is not a movie about Christmas, which is what a Christmas movie is. It's a movie that takes place during Christmas, but Christmas is not the main focus.
Interesting 🤔
Wait. ... you have a shelf behind the TV that is blocked by the TV? Please fix that.
It’s not just a shelf… it’s an entire fireplace lol 😂. I refuse to have the TV over it, so in front of it, it goes 🤷🏽♂️
I mean... TVs do NOT go over a fireplace.
Exactly. And that’s why it’s in front of it lol.
I mean... it makes sense now... I've just.. seen things
it is if Full Metal Jacket is
It was for me today
When was it released in theaters? The majority of Christmas movies come out in November, unlike Die Hard.
It was like March, or May, I forget
May
When was Die Hard released?
Yes
Listen, If you think that Die Hard is a Christmas movie then you better claim Iron Man 3 as one too.
That’s what I’m saying lol.
Hell, Die Hard is advertised as part of D+ on buses where I live (Bluey's home city IRL btw), as a Christmas movie.
Yes. Duh.
Yes very much so
Duh
Yes
Yes
