Imagine being this guy....he knows 100% that the girl he likes also likes him back. A girl that would date him in a heartbeat if he so much as asked. A girl that trusts him enough to live with her and sleep in the same bed. A girl that he likes so much, he willingly endured homelessness for her sake. Which was also hilariously dumb and irresponsible and happened for no goddamn reason and was weirdly just swept under the rug, but w.e.
Imagine being this much of a spineless coward. I'm not saying some people truly deserve to be alone but....he is really pushing it. And you just know any new initiative is going to come from her again. This is way beyond manic pixie dream girl at this point. More like state-mandated girlfriend territory.
can't say I feel bad for him, not really.
She wanted to date him and be with him and they had all that time together, but he decided "bu-bu-but I'm not wooorthhyyy" and then proceeded to pull those stunts to make her hate him so that he could justify his cowardice.
I can relent on the whole "the school & our parents wouldn't approve of us continuing to live together here" bit, but he still walked without actually confessing or responding to her obvious feelings, and only now is he regretting all his choices?
It'll still end with them together because I can't imagine this story allowing him to be punished for his choices by making her decide "maybe it wouldn't work out" and simply walking away, but I can't say I fully believe he's earned a relationship with her at this point, outside of being baseline polite and considerate.
