Idk but apparently there was a kid who moved away from my school when we were in 1st grade and I didn't recognize him when he moved back in fifth grade. Though I don't think we were close.
I guess another example is I didn't recognize my baby sitter when I saw her as an adult.
Yeah, I've noticed that I'm forgetting the names of teachers I've had in school. Not even like way back from elementary or something. Even my high-school teachers. I have such a bad memory.
People physically change a lot from child to even just a teenager. Taking into account puberty, change in fashion or styles, change in voice, and you could be unrecognizable from your old self.
Looking at photos of myself from when I was that age, I might as well have been a different person outside of a few key features.
I was best friends with this girl up till 5th grade when she moved away. Met her again in high school 6 years later and didn't know it was her at all till I heard her name. So these scenarios are actually pretty likely from anecdotal experience.
So, just me want to forgot all my previous classmates and people met in childhood, and still remember every face (except when they fisically changed tho)?
Seems cute so far. Kind of like a woodshop version of Dress up Darling, lol. Bit early to tell much of anything but I do hope the self immolating low self esteem gets phased out early on. I see it getting grating the more he puts himself down.
Which, in-context of the setting, seems like something an apparently "popular & with-it" gal like the FL would be aware of.
She should absolutely be aware of how she's perceived by her classmates, and the sort of jealousy they'd feel toward any boy who got close to her - and then she posts that to her social media, gives it away that the boy's in her class, and then singles him out in front of all of them.
If the ML is reasonable in being worried, then she pulled a shitty bitch move by outting him like that - because she can't play it like it's no big deal, if he's required to be that concerned about it.
But that's just a recurring pet peeve I have with manga that try to have their cake and eat it too, with how the gloomy loner is made to be unreasonable for their worries about this sort of stuff when it's then foisted upon them by the co-lead like this.
Don’t worry, she’s just a manic pixie dream gal who will socially cut through all your internal issues by being really cute and chipper about it. Don’t forget to include the scenes about her being a teenager in beauty magazines but still clueless enough to get undressed next to the Male Lead because she’s used to modeling………
This is really stupid to be annoyed at but that’s him “fixing” the bike? He just put the fucking chain back on the front ring. That’s like if this was about the son of a cobbler who “fixed” a gals shoes by tying them.
I wish they showed off his craftiness better, or at least I hope they do, because if he’s supposed to be skillful and the extent of that is hammering a nail and reattaching a loose chain, that’s stupid.
Yeah I was also thinking it was weird that they decided to use putting a bike chain back on for this lol. Any kid that’s eaten shit on the pavement has had to do figure this out, it’s probably the easiest maintenance imaginable
Well since she a gal classic model, she has no practical experience in doing anything that isn't cute. Although she hardly even looks gal. She looks more generic hottest girl in class.
Normally you expect something amazing as the reason a friendship or relationship to happen, but for the author to explicitly show he has a lot more skill than that, but the actual thing he did is like “Pour a glass of water” levels of difficulty, it makes it feel less like he won her interest as a prize, and more like its genuine interest sparking from a single random moment. Like it was her choice to be interested when she didn’t need to be.
You can't give me a really cute glasses girl as a losing heroine in a Gal series. Glasses girl was really nice! She was already reaching out to the isolated main character and clearly wanted to get to know him better!
We all know these kind of things are a bit formulaic, but I liked the oddball bits of humor. It made it seem like the MC is actually human instead of just a collection of events strung together to form a story.
Nothing else about this strikes me as groundbreaking, and 'forgotten childhood friend" is a reliable trope to force two diametrically-opposed characters like these two together.
Close enough welcome back dress up darling
Author didn’t even try to make it even slightly less obvious
something something I got 2 cents but it's weird that something something
edit: wait no, 3 cents actually, there's also Cuprum Bride (though it's not model gal...)
Aren't they childhood friends in cuprum? Also I love that series.
So, childhood friends and he totally forgot/doesn’t realize it’s her because she’s so different?
Yeah, don't you know? A different haircut is enough for leading a person in not recognizing a childhood friend
Tbh I don't even know if I would recognize a childhood friend if I haven't seen them in years.
How many years you need for forgetting a childhood friend?

I don't recognize my preschool teacher even though i met her 3-4 times during my teens with constant reminders from my parents.
I WOULD NOT remember my classmates. Sorry guys but this brain got less RAM than the available RAM for cheap.
Yeah, I've noticed that I'm forgetting the names of teachers I've had in school. Not even like way back from elementary or something. Even my high-school teachers. I have such a bad memory.
good news, the RAM will be more expensive next year, your brain's value will rise
Ram is volatile memory, short-term. If you forget someone from years ago, theres a fault in your hard drive
all it took for me to not recognize a friend I played with all the time was for them to grow taller than me lmao

in my case, less than 5
like i know they exist i just can't recognize them by face anymore
nah if its following protocol, she'd have been the tomboy friend when she was younger, that he took for a boy, ofc
"I didn't know you were a female" suddenly falling in love suddenly thinking of when you did guy things with her
especially if shes a gyaru with makeup and bleached hair plus girls mature faster so i can believe it
Can't put the blame on him entirely, she didn't recognize him either.
I REALLY hope that's not what's gonna happen. I'm so tired of that absolutely idiotic trope
Seems cute so far. Kind of like a woodshop version of Dress up Darling, lol. Bit early to tell much of anything but I do hope the self immolating low self esteem gets phased out early on. I see it getting grating the more he puts himself down.
He can pull a normal conversation so it's all good i guess
All of his internal monologuing about being pilloried and put to the torch via that social media post witch hunt, doesn't give me the most confidence.
But I guess we'll see.
Tbh, modern social media and targeted bullying is a terrifying combo even for adult, let alone an undeveloped mind of a teenager.
Very true.

So this is the guy who means it when he says “I can fix her”.
"i can fix her bike"
ftfy

you know that got me thing would be cool if it was a motorbike and he was the son of a mechanic
I think its personally cool.

that skirt is way too short for that bike
It's not the worst thing I've read. Not sure it lasts more than say 24 chapters. Not much room for the story to go
is it bad that i got excited thinking it'd be a biker girl before clicking the link?
Biker gril x salary man would be nice
welcome back smoking behind the supermarketWe need a romance with like Suzuha Amane heroine frfr.
I'm glad some other scanlation team also picked this up.
It's better than those greedy translation team where evry chapter is locked behind a payment
So far, it feels like a great-value version of my dress-up darling
You should check out Ane no Tomodachi.
I demand 100 chapters.
You can't give me a really cute glasses girl as a losing heroine in a Gal series. Glasses girl was really nice! She was already reaching out to the isolated main character and clearly wanted to get to know him better!
I like it, Her attachment reminds me of the early chapters of Dress-Up Darling with Marin and Gojo.
Thank you for scanlating this, Kawai scans!
We all know these kind of things are a bit formulaic, but I liked the oddball bits of humor. It made it seem like the MC is actually human instead of just a collection of events strung together to form a story.
Kind of bored of wet rag mcs with beauty love interests.
They copied My Dress up darling bar for bar
this is giving me fuufu vibes with the type of humor. im in
Sure sure sure
Glasses girl seems nice and also doomed. Seika's pretty careless; funny how she stalked him, though.
Yes, this is the one, thank you. Just avoid any love triangles and we're golden.
Seems cute so far
I read reincarnated for some reason...
I really need manga authors to understand that humans do not peak in high school.
Wei! Wei! 😆❤️
It looks like she knows him from before, probably a childhood friend? Since their way home also somehow intersects in a way 🤔
Anyway, poor guy about to go to a witch trial, even Seika realized it when she posted it but still greeted him in front of everyone 😂
Nice. I will definitely keep an eye out for the next chapter.
Ryo
Cute. Hopefully, that is not a childhood friend trope I see hinted at.
Otherwise. Ew.
It almost certainly is.
Nothing else about this strikes me as groundbreaking, and 'forgotten childhood friend" is a reliable trope to force two diametrically-opposed characters like these two together.
