Hi! I'm Kristina, a freelance illustrator with a focus on fantasy and history subjects, mostly in the bookish space. Lately I've been working hard on my skills because I also want to draw for Magic: The Gathering some day -- ideally for character-focused art that takes inspiration from historical themes, which is my absolute favorite thing. Hope you enjoy my interpretation of Tymna.

…you sure you don’t work for Wizards?
I keep sending them my portfolio, but so far, I'm not.
It looks like official Wizards art. Well done.
If they aren't, I sure hope they are soon.
This. My response to the title was "Fanart? Fanart???"
Hello Kristina, random stranger on the internet here, I’d like to offer my encouragement and support on your journey to becoming an Artist for Magic: the Gathering.
Art is what got me into this game and I know I’m not the only one. What’s really incredible is your realistic-looking depiction of a Human/Humanoid, which can be extremely difficult to capture without it looking awkward. Your rendition is impeccable. I feel like there are many artists who can do the awesome landscapes seen in the Land cards, but fewer who can truly captivate with their characters.
Thank you for sharing your work.
Ah thank you so much for your kind words! 😭
Amen!!
FANART?!
This is so good! I thought it was art for a new printing I hadn’t seen
Thank you!

Looks like official MTG art to me 😏 amazing work, I especially like the see through silk material. Is this mixed media, a painting, how do you prefer to create your illustrations?
Thank you! I use Photoshop CS6 and a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet. You can see the technique/watch the process for some of my work at https://www.youtube.com/@KristinaGehrmann/videos
I'm upset. I thought this was new art for an upcoming card. I really really want it to be.
Sorry, haha!😂 Thanks :) Maybe some day...
This artwork is absolutely incredible! Best of luck getting that dream position working on Magic.
Thank you!
That art looks amazing
Thanks :)
Gorgeous work!
Thanks :)
Pretty cool! Looks like some Tymna's based sorcery or instant ❤️
Thank you!
This is on par with WOTC art. I love it. Is that the library of Alexandria to the right of the subject? If so that is an awesome detail.
Thank you! I didn't think of a specific building but maybe it could be 👀
I don’t even necessarily mean the real life one, but it just reminded me of the art for [[Library of Alexandria]]

[[Library of Alexandria|ARN]] rather. It looked more like the art in my head lol

This would be such a dope borderless version
WotC. Hire this artist!
Lovely work! I'd be happy to see this kind of art on a card someday.
Thank you!
This is beautiful. Commenting and liking to boost engagement. Good luck with your ambition.
Thank you!
You're so close, keep sending them your gorgeous work until you get it!
Thank you 😊
Could be pretty cool playmat. Incredible art, I especially like all the effort that was put to make detailed and authentic Theros environment.
Thank you, I'm a bit of a history nerd and love environments! You can see that in much of my other work too ☺️ ( www.kristinagehrmann.com )
Honestly fantastic, thought this was a commissioned piece by WotC for a new printing or iteration of her!
I would love to make a proxy of Tymna using this art! :D
Thank you :) I'm cool with my art being used for non-commercial fan projects (just credit me please)
I appreciate the permission and I'm happy to do so! Would you prefer it by name or an online handle?
"Kristina Gehrmann" is good, thanks!
you've matched the MTG art style perfectly.
this straight up looks like it could be art for a printing of tymna. excellent work.
Thank you ☺️
Tymna the Goat
She's got a simple but generically powerful effect that, combined with partner, makes her one of the strongest commanders ever printed
As a weaver and textile artist I always love seeing Tymna and other references to textile arts in Magic art & fanart. What a lovely piece, thank you for sharing!!
Thank you! <3
this looks REAL nice, well done!! :)
Thank you!
10/10
The fact that you aren't employed for Wizards is a travesty because this is so good!
A big thing a lot of aspiring Magic artists miss is art readability when small and you did an excellent job at avoiding that! The art is incredible at all sizes!
Thank you!
It's a crime your not an official magic artist yet but I'm sure you'll have your time. Your art is beautiful.
Thank you!
It's amazing art and could fool me as official one, but I agree with other redditors that it feels more like a instant/sorcery than a creature art.
Hmm, do you do commissions?
My most played commander.
It's beautiful.
Thank you!
Wow! I don’t usually like partner commanders but if she had this art, I would make a deck just so I could show it off

This is 100% MTG-quality art, I have no doubt WotC would hire you as soon as they acknowledge your work and portfolio :) Good job!!
Excellent art.
This should be on an official card, it's really good.
I would 100% pay for art of some of my commanders in this style, because it's absolutely stunning
Upvoted, this is MTG quality for sure.
Welp, now we need a return to Theros.
Which really I hope they do soon and don't do the whole "we are skipping a bunch of time after all the gods got converted"
This is amazing! Hopefully it catches someone's eye because I absolutely love this
Thank you!
