On the Jan 8th 2026, In a video on the official Magic: The Gathering channel, Wizards of the Coast revealed 27 unique new cards (43 new artworks total) that haven't yet been added to the official card image gallery.
Reddit has an image limit of 20, so I couldn't put them all in this post, but I wanted to share the special treatments at least, since I hadn't seen anyone post the whole batch yet.
The cards are presented in the same order they appear in the video.
Almost every single special treatment card is just an absolute slamdunk in terms of quality.
That said, I'll be a little bit disappointed if it turns out there's no alt-art version for Marelen, considering her importance to the narrative.
There is not. She's just getting an extended art variant.
That is a shame. Maybe they will do a SLD down the road if she becomes popular.
Guess I’m gonna have to commission an alter. Why would they do our girl like that!?
It's really wild that they missed art for a showcase artwork. Hard to understand why the Eclipsed uncommons all get one, but not the queen.
And the eclipsed ones are not even clear on how they are different than their parts
Soul Immolation is interesting in that if you have a 4/4 and a 1/1 you can make X 4 and put the counters on the 1/1.
Love twilight diviner alt art. It's so good.
The short story involving that one and Eclipsed Elf made me sad. Its a good one though.
Another addition to the cute anime lady deck I'll eventually make
Disregard set mechanics, acquire cheap shock lands!
I think what they did for those is sick, dual-faced Lorwyn/Shadowmoor versions of the shocks. They’ve done a good job thus far with the art on all the cards I’ve seen!
I'll be amazed if those arts are cheap. The drop rates for those specific cards are lower than even the other alt art treatments.

Are they doing a shock land sheet like they did for EoE? If so these are going to be super abundant
Moonshadow looks like a fromsoftware boss.
Her scaling relative to the trees in each art piece is funny. In the regular frame, she's enormous compared to the forest. In the showcase, she smol.
Kind tracks with her rules flavour though
1/1 vs 7/7
The art is amazing! Does anyone know if the last 2 japan showcases have been revealed? The number crunch shows 8 of 10.
It's kind of interesting that [[Vibrance]] is the only one of the incarnations whose alternate art treatment features a very different design from its regular art. Makes me wonder if it was deemed too uncharismatic not to be replaced with something fluffier, and if so, justice for my ugly boy
Horns, dog parts, pink/purple/green plants... If I had to take a guess, the alt-artists were given the original art to reference when possible, but there were some cases where the timing didn't line up and they instead were just given the same art description. Might have just been a scheduling issue and not a deliberate change.

FAQ
Special treatments are so good
Moonshadow is dope
Such a funny cuteness disparity between the two Scuzzback Scrounger arts.
Where is Maralen :(
Did maralen get a special treatment in the video?
Ive only seen normal and extended art for her, along with Morcant.
I do wish they would both get special treatments though.
I honestly don’t get why they literally missed to make full art / alt art versions for the foreseeable most popular commanders of the set.
These special treatments are amazing, I wish the cards were a little bit stronger in their power level, I have no desire to use any of these cards in my decks so my desire to pay a premium for pretty arts is low
If I could sum up everything we've seen from Lorwyn Eclipsed so far into one word, it'd be: Synergy.
None of these cards seem particularly broken on their own, but they synergise incredibly well with already existing cards and archetypes that will be stronger as a result of their addition.
Like, Boggart Cursecrafter is a 2/3 deathtoucher with a [[Guttersnipe]] effect that triggers upon every Goblin death (which happens a lot). Every Goblin deck would appreciate that and you could pair it with [[Murderous Redcap]] and [[Putrid Goblin]], both of whom have Persist and can already create infinite combos.
[[Xu-Ifit, Osteoharmonist]] taps to return a creature from your graveyard to battlefield, with the downside being they return with no abilities, but Twilight Diviner creates a copy of the revived creature that retains all its abilities, and in general is doubling the value of recursion once per turn.
I have a deck with [[Nest of Scarabs]] in it. Everytime Moonshadow enters, she puts six -1/-1 counters onto herself and gives me six 1/1 Black Insects. If I'm playing with the new Commander: Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, I also get card draw.
You could even put her in an [[Assault Suit]] and let her die under an opponents control, then [[Necroskitter]] or The Reaper, King No More will automatically revive her under your control, starting the cycle again.
The elf lord is definitely going in my lathril deck
Bow to mommy, get in bed
Will do🫡
Ajani making kithkin?? The hell??
Edit: Seth is gonna make an "Against the Odds" deck with him and dumping his entire deck on the field, haha. I can see it already.
