I was amazed at how much he advocated for gollum as a character, which resulted in a redesign, first-in-class mocap / mixed animation, and maybe the best mocap performance to date!
From what i understand It was less that he looked too young and more that he acted like a little bitch on set. Apparently he refused to ride a horse or wear anything but a cheap prop sword. The anecdote is that he was so bad Ian McKellen had to try and do an intervention and get him to do his job, but to no avail.
I can't even imagine sitting in this interview. Not as Andy ( I don't think I could go this hard into the paint on anything) or as the panel... Imagine sitting there watching this, feeding him lines and just waiting for him to jump across the table and start biting people's ring fingers off.
Terrifying and amazing. Once in a generation role/actor combo.
With that leather jacket and haircut I'm putting him mentally in a 50s biker movie like The Wild One playing the psycho gang member who just goes too far. Genius actor.
Absolutely nailed it
He helped all of us visualize Gollum.

ok guys. we have it. we found smeagol
Now we just need to find someone to play Gollum...
I’ll give it a shot
Some people are born to play a role.
Could you imagine if we could partially see into the future
And when Andy Serkis was born, someone showed his mother a video of Gollum and said "Your son is destined for this." With a smile on their face 😃
This whole trilogy is impeccably cast. I can’t think of a single role I would change in any way.
100%
Tom Cruise for Aragon and Will Smith for Gandalf. lol.
Absolutely repulsive.
10/10
Gollum auditioning for the role of Andy Serkis
I heard he had to do mocap to look like a human.
Holy F*cking Shit!!! This is excellent!!!
They should have hired him! Much more attractive than whoever they hired for Gollum
But the vocal similarities are uncanny
Gollum in a leather jacket 😅
Makes me wonder what the shortlist for the role of Smeagol/Gollum must have been.
Like how Stuart Townsend was initially tapped to play Aragorn before realizing he looked too young.

#notmyking
Oh lord, just read up into it, yeah, it also screwed his career since it was widely publicized that he was replaced.
He looks like he just came off a Nu Metal music video.
Hollywood is crazy. You send this video to anyone else, and they’re sending you professional help
100% commitment, Andy Serkis is a treasure
U can see him turn back and forth between smeagol and gollum. So good
Holy fucken shit, talk about a man being at the right time and place in life
lol imagine there was a real smeagol, who’se more smeagolly, ok imagine you’re in a cave gollum could be anywhere “you should be dancin” starts playin
I love this absolute freak
Absolutely incredible
Seriously one of the greatest performances of all time. He should have won at the very least one Oscar for this.
Can’t think of anyone else that could do half as well. He really did bring that character to life.

Let's see Timothy Chalamet do this now /s
It’s not Andy Serkis. It’s Smeagol.
He delivered.
Oh they did NOT need to CGI him for this at-all.
Watching some BTS videos, I have often wondered how it would have looked on screen with costumes and practical effects instead of CGI

He did a phenomenal job. I can’t imagine anyone else as the voice of Gollum❤️
That's true commitment.
Such a fine artist. But I am dissappointed in him after with that animal farm movie trailer
Yup, animal farm meets Joe Rohan money farm
Genius
An amazingly talented genius
