CoffeeNutGaming is a Youtube channel that used to make some truly excellent guide and build videos for the Elder Scrolls games, especially Morrowind, but one day he took an indefinite hiatus and decided to take his entire content library with him unannounced. Now his channel still exists, with the old banner promising weekly uploads and everything, but it has no public videos.

To be clear, he DID announce his retirement from making videos, there's a goodbye post here on reddit which I'll link below, but the strange thing is that retirement is all he announced. There was no mention of the back catalogue being deleted, in fact he simply refers to the channel "going quiet" in his post, with no mention of his plans to delete/private the old videos or why.

Whether the videos are gone entirely or simply privated, I have no idea, but it would be a crying shame to lose them forever. His videos were not only entertaining, but taught me much of what I know about Morrowind, and were my go-to resource for friends just getting into the game.

Here's a link to the YT channel, and the reddit post announcing his departure about 8 months ago.

  • This is a hard one.

Content creation is sorta hard, but most of all it's emotionally draining. I made gaming videos for a couple years and now my channel is fairly abandoned. Occasionally I stop by to reply to the three new comments I get but I intentionally avoid going to it because it's a painful reminder of a failure, stress, vulnerability, an obsession with viewing my metrics daily, replying to every comment, etc.

The final straw was how much it was taking its toll on my mental health. I spent 50 hours on a video, while working 55 hours a week. I even green screened me into the game the best I could while using props, trying to be funny and let my character shine through. It got 100 views the first couple of weeks, a few comments of longer supporters and a couple new people saying "What the hell is this game, idk how I got here but this is an awesome video, you were really funny!"

As someone who used to make DBD content and regularly get 7k views a video, this was the turning point. If you make content for only a single game, it's all you think about and if you get tired of that game it makes it hard to do content on it.

I enjoyed making everything but to put that much effort in and consistently get no views? Is it worth it? Am I really enjoying it anymore? I could go back to DBD but I don't have interest in playing that god awful game anymore.

I nuked my discord, changed my handles on steam and discord, deleted my reddit account, deleted the YouTube studio app from my phone and moved on. I still game a lot when I can. I actually thought about making a couple new shorts, I still get fun ideas, but I can never seen to drum up the will to actually fully follow through because I know the path it leads me down.

Anyway. Thanks for listening, I realize I gave you no insights to this other creator, but maybe it helps you understand where he may have been emotionally at the time he privated his entire collection and walked away from it all.

  • you can upload it to your own channel, that can make it easier to find them and maybe contact with Coffenutgaming in any way

Good call, I've edited it into the post.
