Picked up my Savage Trailhunter Lite in 308 yesterday. Added the MDT XRS, GRND-Bipod, and Mags.

Waiting on some 3D printed setup rings before I get Area419 base and rings headed this way. Then II can mount a Viper PST GenII 5-25X50 FFP I have waiting.

I bought the rifle and traded for everything else. Even have 3x boxes of HSM 168gr Match ammo I traded for.

  • Nice job šŸ‘šŸ» She looks sweet. Hope your MOA is as good as it looks !

  • I've got a few chassis and stocks but still really like my XRS chassis enough that I have 2.

  • So nice! I’m about to become poor myself

  • I basically just did the same exact thing.. cept the not lite version of the trail hunter and the LSS gen II instead of the swept chassis. The gun is crazy accurate but the bolt does kinda suck to action.

I still have research to do but, what all can be done to the bolt? Lift kit? Or?

I ordered a lift kit and will let you know how it goes. Oil and reps seem to help. Just dry fire like crazy. Supposedly there's things you can polish but I haven't done that. Also supposedly There's a gunsmith somewhere who "times" the actions and that's supposed to be nice but again I haven't looked too deep into it. Only just shot my rifle like 2 days ago.

You're ahead of me at least, I haven't shot mine yet. Time for more research it seems. I'll keep you updated if I find anything as well.

I went ahead and ordered a lift kit from Desh. We'll see how it goes.

I bought the desh industries bolt lift kit. It helped a little. According to my uncalibrated finger gauge I would say it was 20% lighter.

  • I believe you mean efficient. Looks good!
