What? You didn't get that? Fine, I'll lower myself to avoiding SANGRIA.
I hope you're all ready for Project Moon to weave us a new tale; I surely am! Welcome, one and all, to Season 7 of Limbus Company. This post may, potentially, stay up for the entirety of the season and be used as a hub of discussion related to it. In practice, based on past seasons, it will likely end up phased out soon after the Canto concludes. We'll play it by ear. Regardless, for now, please use this space as you would any Megathread.
IMPORTANT: If you do not want to be spoiled, you should avoid the subreddit. This goes double for the first few hours after the update drops and everyone is posting spoilers. We can't realistically catch all of them, especially when we also need to play the Canto ourselves so we can accurately judge what is and is not a spoiler. The moderation team is trying their best, but we're only human.

Spoiler Rules
Spoilers apply to the current season and all story content during Season 7. Major story information from previous Seasons/Canto are still considered spoilers! If you wish to be courteous, we'd still recommend marking minor story moments from past Seasons; it is not strictly required, but it is appreciated. There are flairs for Season 7 to denote what type of spoiler content is behind the spoiler wall. Do not put spoilers in the titles of posts, and use stage numbers [8-??] to announce what content is being spoiled. Do keep in mind that a new season also brings in brand new players, so there are many that might be seeking help or guidance and would not want to be spoiled.
New Addition to Spoiler Rules: From now on, we will be treating the dialogue and Uptie stories of Seasonal identities as spoilers for one week after release. Until an Identity is available in the Dispenser, you are responsible for marking discussion of the Identity's story details as a spoiler. This does not apply to mechanical discussions (skill kits, teambuilding, etc.)
Punishment for Spoiler Infractions: Until one week after Canto 9 concludes, we will punish unmarked spoilers much more harshly than usual. You can reasonably expect a ban that lasts until one week following the Canto's conclusion.

Canto 9 Artwork - Spoiler tag for art posts that you didn't create

WHAT IS THIS MEGATHREAD USED FOR?
As with previous threads, this post should be used for all primary text discussion of the new Canto. As mentioned in the introduction, it may or may not remain in use for further events in the season, such as Refraction Railway or the next Mirror Dungeon. Use this thread to show off-
- Banner pulls from this season- Crazy damage numbers- theories
- opinions on story moments
- ask about teambuilding for specific stages
- ask general questions about the new season
- share/ask for friend codes
All important story content (important character introduction, character death, EGO/Distortion, plot twists and tense moments) needs to be spoiled in comments. You can spoiler your text with this simple formula (remove the periods) “>.!your text here!.<”. When posting spoilers, it is a REQUIREMENT to state the stage number from which the spoiler originates; this applies to posts as well.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS/INQUIRIES

ALSO REMINDER: SPOILERING TEXT IS STILL REQUIRED IN THIS THREAD
(Gameplay spoilers for all of Canto 9 Part 1, tagged just to be safe)
I love turn 1 SP Roulette. I had to restart 9-3 three times because all my sinners lost their first clashes, the boss snowballed from there and even in my winning attempt I had to use Superbia because the boss goes baller on turn 3. It was a nice challenge, but part of me wants PM to dial back a bit on the encounter speed a bit, bosses going all out on turn 3 feels too soon.
The rest of part 1 went by without many issues, although Faelantern gave me a bit of trouble because my strongest damage dealers kept getting charmed. I did not fall for the fruit trap in the Ebony Queen fight and instead focused on the roots (6 attack power up wtf) and Wayward Passenger was... whatever. I got very unlucky turn 1, lost all my clashes, could not destroy any rift except the coin power rift and still beat it.
9-18 was fun. For some reason my "random bullshit go"-team actually worked. The bosses give you more than enough time to interact with their gimmick, their mechanics are laid out clearly and countering them feels both intuitive and satisfying. In my opinion, they are one of the best designed fights in modern, post-unbreakable coin Limbus, even without a complete team to play with.
Unironically the biggest obstacle were some of the regular enemies (spider manikins). Three unbreakable coins with a conditional base power of 10 hurt like hell. The fact that they were regular encounters didn't make it much better. Small tip for anyone else struggling with them: Offsetting their defensive skills prevents them from nuking you next turn, a fact that I realized far too late.
I got 57 turns on RR5, is it good or nah?
That’s a pretty good score. There are better ones, of course, but actually getting the best of the best requires very deliberately tuned builds and strategies.
Too many things happening in a span of a few stages, and having fights that attribute to a detour to reach the story bits (I kinda prefer if we battle two abnos in one stage with a lower difficulty because one of them had barely any relevance).
my favorite lore bit is how Meursault probably had the nighty fun time once or more, and thought "okay, I did this" and think nothing of it. Probably did city drugs too (canned memories)
I honestly had to bust out Superbia to beat 9-3, but everything else was a cakewalk with a bit of reading for Ebony queen. Overall, I do like how they try to make harder abno fights, because we lack those in Hong Lu's canto.
Theory time: After reading the story a bit, I'm stuck between Ryoshu being a Yuzuki stand-in/role and having a child Or her child is either a crazy experiment using the nursefathers's in some shape or form, or not biologically tied to her—but it's not like that's a bad thing, I just wished a gacha character could have a kid of their own for once- like, a bad parent figure (not as worse as the nursefathers's).
I'm seriously afraid of fighting the remaining abnormalites, because they might be something that's not yet debuted or WAW level without the deterrence!
I’ll still take it over Canto 8 Part 1. The only way I can fathom it went down in PM’s discussions was
“They haven’t fought anything in several minutes! The players are understimulated! Quick, throw in an unnecessary fight against some training dummies!”
Honestly after replaying the part 1 a few times, I honestly think it might be on the weaker end. Its not a problem with the Canto itself it's just the pacing and placement of the fights that throw me off.
We start extremely strong with the thumb apprentice, introducing the thumb nursefather, a hostage situation that forces vergilius into a bad spot. All of this is great, then we head to the headquarters and shits fucked all around, incredible atmosphere were cooking now.
But then the next few fights arrrreeee.. the peccatulla.. I'm just so tired of seeing these enemies its insane tbh, one of the reasons I liked Canto 8 so much was that the generic mob enemies were so unique. From xue pans jars, the training dummies, the failed bolus experiments, they were all interesting. The peccatulla are genuinely just.. boring.
But alright I can push past that what's next on the menu.. oh an abnormality breached? Awesome! What will we have here, maybe a new one that we haven't seen before? Or perhaps one of the more dangerous ones? Oh... it's just.. a slightly stronger faelantern.. okay.. well surely the next one-.. oh.. it's just wayward traveller.. who honestly I couldn't tell the difference from normal. Ebony queens apple was certainly different with some new and unique mechanics though so bonus points there.
Then we finish strong with the fights against more disciples, but I feel like just as it was starting to get into its stride, right when I was starting to sit up, it just abrubtly ended. I don't really have a problem with the abnormality fights just, I feel it might have been more interesting if maybe they were compressed into one node instead of three. Like wave 1 faelantern, wave 2 traveller and wave 3 apple.
It's still part 1 of course but I feel the other part 1s had a gradual curve of introduction and hype building, while this one was all over the place, it went from 0 to 100 immediately in like, the first three nodes, then 100 to 0 with the peccatulla.. then remained at like a 20 with the abnormality fights (Outside of apple who I genuinely enjoyed) then back up to 100 instantly with the disciples.
At least the random fights were justified by the circumstances. Contrast this with Canto 6 part 1. Shoehorned in a fight against some random thugs for no reason except so that we’d have a fight before the super long stretch of reading.
Or canto 8 part 1 where they decided to have us fight… literal training dummies and random thugs.
At least here it makes sense that all of these things are present. We know peccatula and abnormalities are contained here, and things are bad.
I think having abnos in different nodes is for the best, since it prevents later two from being snowballed - something that's especialy noticeable with wayward, since his mechanic is threatening only when you can't deal with all his portals in one turn.
Do we have a season roadmap?
No. Likely will get a livestream later. Trust me, once it happens, there’ll be a literal flood of reposts from people trying to be the first to post it without even bothering to check if someone beat them to the punch
We might get a livestream with this season's roadmap during the anniversary or earlier
Not yet
there is a full dialogue sprite of a certain character in 9-18 ive seen in twitter and on the wiki.. but i dont think it hasnt been used yet in game?
was that leaked/datamined?
Go to the theater and play episode 15, it will use character sprite instead of the battle sprite cutscene.
Kira reading The Cloudburst Blade and describing it clearly refers to the Kurokumo Clan and Bamboo-hatted Kim. It made me think about comic writers just straight up interviewing offices and syndicates to make stories.
Also I was really hoping they'd let her finish her sentence on it cuz I think she was about to say "he goes Yield Thy Flesh... To Claim Their Bones" which would've been so funny and hype.
That said, she said the Middle Nursefather was her papa, so during the scene where they straight up be hostile to her instead of playing along had me reeling in frustration like "YOU CLEARLY SHOULDN'T BE MAKING AN ENEMY OF THE DAUGHTER OF THAT SLAUGHTER MACHINE OUTSIDE!!??"
Project moon finally lets us fight an abnormality after canto 8 had none and it's all abnormalities we've seen and fought before. Like lorewise you could argue there may not be any abnormalities we haven't fought before in the LCE but it's super fucking disappointing to just get the buffed versions of the same old abnormalities when they could make any abnormality they wanted into the canto and nobody would really bat an eye. We already fight these abnormalities all the time in the mirror dungeon, why rehash them here? Even just making the Roseate desire manikins into sanguine desire would go such a long way in diversity without changing basically anything but no, it HAS to be the abnormality we've fought in the story before.
I can only pray pmoon will add a few e.g.o IDs since this takes place in LCE but seeing as none of the fingers are wearing it or seem interested in wearing it looks like we're just going to get more fingers, which I knew was coming, but still.
The coolest and most unique part of pmoon's world building and they once again throw Lobcorp fans to the wind. Ayin save us.
Hokma balls.
Is the date for the bad end ids announced? Or will it release alongside part 3
Its usually shown in the seasonal roadmap. The release date for it won't be until a few months from now.
Absolutely loved it. Fights felt like the perfect difficulty on my challenge team, doubt any real team has trouble with them. Just barely first-tried them both (though lost to the Abnos a few times).
This feels like the point where the “A Plot” of Limbus Company is going to start. Each Canto thusfar has been tenuously connected to one another, but I’m guessing that ends now. I’m absolutely all for it.
Canto 9 part 1 spoiler, slight neg
Honestly been loving that they brought back the LCE crew and finally had us met moses and ezra in person instead of just video, although still somewhat miffed vespa (I guess he's hornet in the translation now?) wasn't there... also I couldn't roll my eyes any harder when they did the whole deathflag "ouuuu lookie here!!! the udjat!!!! jingle jingle they are so strong please buy our dias announcer" then immediately cashed it in with the index papa... I will never get used to the shounen powerscaler-bait dialogue i fear
there were no udjats nor index proselytes in this canto, the one you was seeing at the end of chapter 1 were regular LCA units.
https://preview.redd.it/veq57htkqmag1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6a847a99be93d25a95190863e3fdd61c7a517f4
Also I never said the index papa was a proselyte, just that he looked similar to the red thread index guy in the trailer and thus he is probably the index nursefather...
dunno how to add spoiler to images, but still
I guess headquarters did think that this was some type of abnormalities breach or something given the only signals from LCE were ones asking for help and the others from them breaching. So thats why they sent LCA.
But yeah. These are literally regular LCA units.
https://preview.redd.it/kpav0dxwqmag1.png?width=789&format=png&auto=webp&s=3c8184115975f6e9117659390f4848f33fdfdbdd
Untrue, HQ knew what was happening and decided to send in people to die just to sell the story. HQ clearly knew the attack was imminent, but let it play out for Ryoshu’s Canto. We still don’t know why LC decided to invest so much into the Sinners
In Udjat Outis story, HQ sabotaged their equipment, sent the team in with no intel and was disappointed to hear that the team completed the mission
to be honest, dunno, I always find it very hard to guess about what exactly would happen in Limbus later on. You can have general guesses, but since we know nothing about HQ or Dias motives(well, other than to replace the Head), and thats when we have alive Purple Tear who is just doing all that she needs to do, which looks completely random.
Also, Udjat Outis story kinda resembled me what happened with Moses where Dias was just having fun exprementing.
Oh I know that in a watsonian sense they are different, but in a doylist sense the writers are clearly trying to make them be another variant of dias' goons (although looking at outis skill and names i wanna cope they are different too), and then specifically worfed them to appease powerscalers.
They made up for it by having the characters continue to glaze them while we watch them get executed, then have Faust immediately cope about how it would be different in open combat. That made the whole situation very funny.
I think those are a branch of the LCA but not the Udjat given that they are not only missing the Udjat eye on the mask, but also lack the golden shoulder trim present in Outis' uptie. They did get Worf'd pretty fast tho. lmao
Upgraded (some) of my ID's to lvl 60 for MD, only to realise this MD caps starting lvls at 55, huh (right is MD, left is them in the menu).

Because this is still MD6, you have to wait until MD7 drop to get the new level cap
So index Faust best for shinking as i think yes?
She is good enough in poise. Just an all around all right unit
How beat don quixtone dungeon
What node you on right now?
Im on flower bloodbug/fiends
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm back again and severely struggling against 9-18. Does anybody have any solid ideas that actually work? I'm getting thrown around.
Just win clash and hit them, their buff will be reduce with each hit. If you has a decent ryoshu ID, just bring ryoshu and capo mersault. Class anything you want to win with mersault, and red coin let ryoshu tank it. The strategy is just to get both of them to 45 sp as soon as posible, then capo mersault should just win anything clash, even when out of ammor.
You won't be able to bring a 'real' team with just 4 unless you have an ultramaxxed account, so try to bring 4 independent powerhouses who can all hold their own. If you're slightly under levelled, use moriostatis for turns 2/3 so your sinners can more easily win clashes and build high sp. From there, clash all of his skills except for his block, even his counters and evades. Make sure it is a sinners primary target, as he received reduced buffs when sinners target his defensives. Just keep clashing and winning (you may have to reset a few times to build high sp early on) until he runs out of his 50 stack, at which point he becomes a lot more squishy and you can deal some real damage.
As for the second one, she pretty much speaks for herself. Unappose attack her 3 times before the nuke and it literally rolls a 0. Otherwise you don't need to really worry about her at all other than winning clashes
I brought KK Greg (my only level 55 Greg), contempt, awe ryoshu, blade lineage mersault and solemn lament Yi Sang, since they can all hold their own and clash high. If you have any healing ego definitely try to bring them because having 4 sinners makes the unbreakables wear you down quickly (I brought pursuance on mersault). They both piss off at about 50% hp, so you don't need to worry about killing them. I focused down the pinky guy when he got low then beat the ring chick to death while she was alone.
Cheese it since Ryoshu can’t die, just have all Bad attacks hit Ryoshu while dealing damage with Meur (I used night drifter and caposault)
Wait, that's a thing? I soloed it with maidshu and had to reset so many times because she kept dying.
Like, I had to wait for Superbie to get back online (fluid sacked 9-2), so I could use contempt and awe to get access to it's passive, to slowly build up gluttony resources, all so I could have access to G-corp Gregor's passive and have actually good healing. God, I want to kill myself.
I might be lowkeuinely bad at this game
Ryoshu doesn't die only when she has allies left.
Generally focus on Ren and target the defensive skills to reduce her poise count and potency gain. He also loses 2 Clash power if he clashes against targets that are not Ryoshu.
.Two of his skills also give him stacks of his special buff on Clash win so if you feel a bit brave and not cofident in winning the clashes just take the attack one sided or evade.
Otherwise when both him and the Ring lady is ther focus more on him and do only the bare minimum against her until he is don
What's the main issue?
For the pinky, I just clashed with every single skill he had to ensure he loses Shield and Poise as much as possible.
For the Ring, I kinda ignored her apart from the dangerous skills until Pinky was down, then I just outclashed her shortly after.
I was using NRyoshu, Night Awl, and Caposault at level 55.
-reset if you lose even one clash against pinky on turn 1
-get your ids to lvl 60
-read up on their passives, a lot of the fight has to do with hitting them with skills rather than just clashing
-if either one of the enemies gets staggered, sicc all your sinners on them, save for a few skill 1s to clash with the other enemy. they exit the fight the moment they reach their second stagger bar, leaving the other alone
-make sure no one dies, otherwise you won't have enough skills to clash with
i lost 2 clashes turn 2 and still won, fight isn't impossible if you lose early unless you got shafted completely
Got my ass beat on 9-3 did I forget how to play this game lmao
The miniboss punishes repeated clashing with the same character by killing your clash power and increasing damage taken. A couple tips:
Evade, guard and counter can pass a turn if you can't reasonably clash. Bleed can get away with throwing down some unopposed attacks while Priest Gregor and N Corp Ryoshu play guard duty. Burn doesn't rely much on hard clashing either. Heishou surprisingly does well despite lacking that type of defensive utility, as they're all slash resistant so they have wiggle room to just ignore a few weaker attacks. Hong Lu and Ishmael can rotate the frontline for fresh units without debuffs.
Save Superbia for Turn 3 and win the clashes before the super move.
In your opinion, what is the main art form that Albina practices? Stage play? Sculpture? Performance Art? Body Art?
She's a Corporist like her Nursefather, so body art is the foundation of her art. The Corporists are also sculptors with how they specialize in crafting manikins and weaponry, so that counts too. Doubly so for Albina, as her Magnum Opus seems to be Faschia, her great sword. I'd say sculpting (or perhaps just weaponry?) is her main artform.
Considering they're all about the movement of muscles and bones, I'd put them into a mix of sculpting, blacksmithing, and robotics.
Kiled the Pinky twink so unbotherd I only noticed one turn after it was just Albina.
I’m trying not to use my Heishou team because that makes shit too easy, but I also want to bring Ryoshu and the only 000 ID I have for her is her Walpurg Charge ID and I feel like I’m going in the exact opposite direction as everything is just painful slog
Anyone struggling with any bosses, remember that Morositas and Superbia are still here.
Superbia slots an ego in to deal with powerful attacks.
Morositas nerfs the opponent's offense level to where you can safely clash it.
Finished up to the timegate and good fuckin lord man I am over unbreakable coins lmao
The way a single manikin wave dealt more damage than the entirety of 9-18
This canto has reminded me how much I hate unbreakable coins and how much I hate bleed.
Those manikins are pure hell. Even ignoring the guard i was eating so much damage. The chain battles were boring as wrll
The only stage that I need to retry in Part 1 is 9-17 somehow...
Those UCs hit so damn hard.
Edit: I really like the highlights in both the skills and passives of enemies. I only read the highlighted parts and still got all the necessary information for a smooth experience.
What are y'all's thoughts on 9-3? Specifically, what am I supposed to do to even beat it?
You either win the first few clashes and snowball or you guarantee the clashes with sinking
You don't need any specific team, I had a ragtag bunch of generalists. Just don't clash with the same sinner too often.
I've heard the best strategy is to abuse sinking to negate all coin flips.
Else, just level ur IDs to max and it should be fine.
He plays exactly the same as the ice knight. Clash with three pwoplw while you use the reat of the team gainat the manequins
did it with sinking, walp rodion and ishmael carried me
Heishou winrate
this
Envy team is hilarious with it. What do you mean clashing? Just keep hitting me until you lose!
Envy teams are highly viable, despite what people claim. Just throw in a reindeer hong lu for minor sanity reduction and you’re golden.
Absolutely loved the music played in that stage. I beat it with the heishou team, along with having sinners that have the lowest or no escalating duel debuff clash with the apprentice.
So I made this post about Meursault nearly a year ago now. It’s cool how, even now, they’re still putting a lot of attention to his rapid assessment of the surroundings. Dante knows he can be trusted to spot a given person among the carnage, and Meursault also picks apart the breathing quite easily.

Canto 9 part 1 spoiler how long does it take for abnos to recover fron egg form because it seems that moses and erza already beat the abnos before us and seeing how they gave tips on how beat them
It's kinda funny how in this one part we have at least one representitive from not only each of the five Fingers, but also each of the five Limbus Company branches that we currently know of.
Idk if I am just not playing the game enough anymore to be good, but I have such a hard time beating even the second stage of this canto, that it's just sucking the fun out of everything for me man
Try not to hit the manikins while they are guarding, otherwise they use their big attack with all unbreakables instead of just the one and it'll stagger even if you win the clash, I hate those enemies but I think that strategy was somewhat consistent for me
The best team is probably sinking. Sanity reduction is really nice.
Otherwise, dunno what else to say besides level up your ids, use Superbia and Morositas, etc.
I appreciate the tips, but I already tried them, my IDs are all 55, and since Durante abilities are once per day, they do nothing to help when tryint out things.
I just think the game isn't made for me anymore
55 isn't the level cap anymore; It's 60. That should be a sizable gain to your clash consistency.
Durante is only consumed when you actually finish a fight. If you reset the fight you get it back.
No this has to be the moat annoting enemy they have ever concuted those manikins do 70 damage after loaing a clash its genyinely unfun
Get good or something, these are winrate tier enemies… I have had 0 sinner deaths through part 1, or maybe they did die and I didn’t notice, since I really wasn’t looking at the combat for grunt stages.
Guys when does the new Mirror Dungeon drop?
Unclear, but almost certainly a minimum of two weeks following the Canto conclusion. Likely a bit longer.
god, thanks to the canto, i had a silly idea for a shitpost if anyone wants to draw it
bamboo-hat kim in a therapy office
Any gamers out there with Udjat Outis I can add to test her out? :)

This canto was so much harder, seems like its priming us towards losing clashes and health and making use of the chain battle system. I wonder how harsh parts 2 and 3 will be.
wait tf you mean 4 sinners only?
But yeah, even this part forces you to play your skills right, less variables=more control.
I hope that this will finally make people realize how good Unbreakables are for the battle system. Limbus works best as an attrition game, and Unbreakables actually reduce the amount of variance in combat.
I had a lot of fun running my challenge team into the bosses, really hope the remaining parts keep the difficulty up.
Honeatly it sucks. So much damage you cant dodge. I dont mind but man the 4 sinner last boss is hell. I idnt lose a sinner but they are just so fucking tanky
Gonna need so many tickets
It was pretty easy tbh, the only thing that requires a functioning braincell is not attacking into Guards which the game even helpfully highlights for you in bright orange text.
your right not saying its super easy but once you read shit its not that bad. i didnt die one time even 9 18 i was expecting to die with lvl 55 units

does anyone have the new outis ID? I tried rolling for her and the faust, and after 100 pulls I only got the faust. If anyone could allow me to use her, it would be greatly appreciated. My friend code is W339525880.
I do, I'll add you shes quite good and has some hype and sleek animations not to mention that she clashes pretty high and reliably.
Thanks!
Added you, Imperialis is my username.
Also leveled her up to 60 so you can use her at full power.
If you'd rather I equip her with any other EGO aside from those that I have there feel free to ask, I have all of Outis's egos at at least Uptie 3
Edit: Here's my UID U886167684 for anyone who wants to add me
can you also add me homie :) V356000786
Sure!
Already done!
Thank you! The prescripts will bless you
And may the Eye of the Udjat forever watch over you!
Was there any nerfs
Non
Thanks man
Finally finished part 1 since I had to wait for Enkaphalin to recharge. Really loved the abno parts, and the apprentice + Nursefather designs are great. Think it's my favourite part 1 of a Canto by far, not that it really has much competition there since the other ones are all fairly weak imo.
But man if the Peccitalum (or whatever) fights immediately after fighting an apprentice wasn't such a disappointment... I know filler fights always exist but that was the most boring part of the Canto by far and an immediate (but luckily brief) mood killer.
Part of me wonders if Ryoshu will actually unsheathe her sword, since doing so seems to be exactly what the Nursefathers want.
THIS WAS SO PEAK HOLY SHIT!!!!!
(also i love how much this canto punishes winraters, )
i just beat Lucio, and then i realized "holy shit, im so fucked"
I also found it hilarious that they had a whole section in the faelantern fight of "have you considered soloing?" in the middle.
Because they wanted to punish the illiterate, I guess.
That and an certain fight pulling out the "please read what this defense skill does" move at the very end was also so fucking funny
I love how they pulled out a highlighter for Canto 9
Which fight was that? Pinky apprentice?
Yeah, 9-18. Near the end of the fight, Albina takes a whole turn to use one defense skill, allowing you to also defend and ensure that neither side takes direct damage. Project Moon specifically highlighted in bright orange that you will take a sizeable amount of retaliation damage if you do choose to attack her.
Huh, that one? I saw the damage, but she was literally one hit away from stagger so I just hit her anyways and killed her on that turn lol.
One of my friends did the same thing. It is very strange that she uses the move when Ren has likely already retreated and her stagger bar is closing in.
She did it to me after she auto recovered from stagger.
It's difficult to near impossible to balance the game tightly when accounts will have different levels of power depending on their pulls. Just the nature of gacha games.

It's insane by how much new pierce luxcavation is better then the old one! Stupid 15 rolling negative skill and free shield for enemies is no more!
I do like our 4 chosen sinners individually, but its kinda blatant PM probably restricted the team to Ryoshu, Gregor, Meursalt and Yi-sang because they together and alone literally make the least cohesive team possible.
It also served to showcase that even though Ryoshu got 2 Ids past season none of them are super strong, it was baffling to fall back to REAP Ryoshu by sheer virtue that she is tanky and has good rolls/Sanity gain to be beaten up repeatedly while Firefist Greg, Thumbsalt and Liu Sang do all the work.
And while I usually love trying out whacky teams, it kinda felt a bit cheap this time... Especially because we had to do a boss fight with these 4 starting out at 0 sp, plus the boss had really high base power and we don't get to have access to Fluid Sack, Blind Obsession or even an SP passive to make the slog less RNG heavy. The fight itself was peak, after the RNG allowed me to get past turn 2 without losing all clashes and thus having to fight a boss with 30 sp while my units had 0 which after my experiences with Jia Mu's 1st phase means a very frustrating death.
Frankly, I want to lead Outis's team instead. Her Udjat ID plus Kodya would make short work of anything with or without an SP bar.
I'm glad you posted this comment because now I get to see everyone's teams for these sections. I personally used a very similar team as you did (Liu Ryoshu + Yi Sang, Capo Sault, and FireFist Gregor) and got through it just fine.
Were the IDs less powerful than they would be in a full team? Yep. Was it fun to have to take stock of what I could use instead of just spamming one limbillion Heishou IDs again.
Heh, I'm glad my unpopular opinion at least could give you at least some cool insight into people's comps.
Aside from the burn comp I also used bleed and poise while trying to figure out which one would feel the best
For bleed I tried: Ncorp Ryoshu, Night Awls Gregor, Prince Meursalt and Ringsang.
Everyone but N Ryoshu performed quite well, Ringsang had a little bit of trouble whenever he didn't roll an S2 to clash with but he wasn't dumpstered as Hard as NRyoshu who would just never roll heads and get obliterated, she'd even lose clashes with her S3-2 which made her seem like she inhaled all the Fraud energy from Jia Huan.
For poise I tried: Bamboo Hatted Meursalt, BL-Sang, Maid Ryoshu and Heishou Greg
Maid Ryoshu actually could win Clashes easily and was able to snowball quite well in the Manikin fights, BL Sang and Meursalt did their thing and became nigh invincible after stacking enough poise BL sang just got in trouble because of the 3 coiner unbreakables of death from those enemies since he has quite low Max HP, Si-greg was very meh
I didn't try rupture because when I do so I do it for the hype moments and aura farming that comes with Lord-lu, but you can make a reliable team with Warp-sang/Wei-sang, MaoRyoshu, Si-Gregor and Cinq Meursalt. Yi-sang and Ryoshu add count, Gregor fuels potency and Cinq Meursalt just procs rupture for free at the 15/3 mark.
Any teams aside from these 4 tho, I feel would be unga bunga 0 conditional teams thrown together by the powers of "Random Bullshit Go!"
To be honest, I didn't really have a problem with the small squad even if the teams I created with them felt taped together. What irked me was mostly that this lineup of sinners barely has any SP regen tools and PM wasn't kind enough to provide us with a wave of weak enemies/Low clashing skills to mitigate the awful low sanity RNG.
Huh, really? I felt the team of NRyoshu, Night Awl, and CapoSault to be quite strong actually. NRyoshu was even doing quite a lot for once after constantly dying on Gaze buffed unbreakables the levels prior. Firefist was actually getting beat quite hard this section so I had to swap him to Night Awl.
?
Heishous + Cinq gets you a rupture team.
Yes, it was one of the team comps I thought about using but ended up not because after the release of Lord-lu using the Heishous alone feels bland.
Same goes for using the two bloodfiends, without having Manager Don they feel a bit lacking
I realize now that my issues with the lineup mostly come from the fact that we can't use any of the coolest combinations bar Ncorps coupled with the lack of passives from the other sinners.
Like, Leisault doesn't have Sinclair to give him ammo, The Heishous don't have Hong-lu to give them their hype combo attacks and The prince and the Priest don't have Manger to supply blood feast to. I think I may like thematic team comps a bit too much
I mean burn is technically not missing all that much, which is what I used. Liu sang thumbsault and firefist Gregor are good enough to get to 99 burn and as much count as you want. No dark flame but the bosses don’t have enough hp to warrant needing it.
That's precisely why I ended up going with burn in the end, the only unsatisfying part of it though is that Ryoshu, the star of the show herself really feels like she doesn't belong there due to her sole burn ID being an old 00 that definitely doesn't hold up to the canto's enemies clashing.
That's what I meant by "Lack of Cohesion" since Ryoshu's teams are actually quite limited since she doesn't have any proper Sinking, Burn or tremor(Yurodivy is also a 00 that clashes badly) Identities for us to diversify and fit her into our comps.
They are about as cohesive as any other random sinner group, provided you have no ID restrictions. I used N-Corp Ryoshu, Night Awls Gregor, Ring Yi Sang and Prince Meursault. That is not really a wacky team, right? They kept both bleed and tremor-hemorrage up and had basically no issue clashing when it counted. I can buy that they wanted to exclude Maost and KoDya but I don't think they actually picked characters that have that little cohesion. You can at least make good Bleed, Tremor and Poise line-ups with them from my experience. I think this group is just also very good with their interactions so I don't think it's unreasonable to think that they just picked characters that they wanted to center a bit more and killed two birds with one stone.
Imo the named enemy fights in this part were great mechanically. The mechanics weren't convoluted or difficult but you couldn't ignore them, either. Very fun part 1.
You misunderstood my point, and I explained it a bit badly.
What I mean by "Least Cohesive" is just the lack of diversity in team comps and status comps. We're basically corralled into using either Bleed,Burn or Rupture and those keywords are lacking their centerpieces and supports in this scenario bar the Ncorp duo.
What irked me though was that this was basically the first time they've forced us to engage with the 0 sanity rng this heavily. Usually they give us a wave to build sanity or we have access to Egos like fluid sack or passives like Nfaust's, this time though we only had access to Liu Yi sang or Bygone days gregor.
Minor nitpick, I would've liked to have had the chance to use the new Ids a bit more too.
But story wise the choice of characters is indeed excellent, the writing is already phenomenal and the gimmicks on the abnos are fun. It's literally just the last leg of the part 1 that soured things a little bit and only gameplay-wise. I literally wouldn't have had any complaints if I could've used sinking or had better SP healing options as I do not enjoy sitting through 3/4 turns of watching the manikins dumpster my teams at 0 SP or having to retry fights because 0 sanity rng doesn't allow even a single heads hit to win a clash.
Perhaps I was spared the worst of the worst but I did not feel that my clashes got substantially more consistent over the fights from my first turns, perhaps due to the enemy's own sanity mechanic. They were inconsistent and stayed that way. I have neither sources of sanity gain either, nor do I usually rely on them for my first turns when they are available so I guess it's a difference in preferred playstyle more than anything.
I think you are smoking weed dude, I replayed the final boss 3 times cause I was dissapointed at how easy it was and ryoshu was always the one dealing the most damage. My team is Liu/horse sang interchangably, Capo meur, Awe ryoshu and firefist/night awl greg interchangably, aka a mix of burn and tremor.
Mostly RNG then, that was literally the only issue. In my runs Ncorp Ryo never won any clashes by virtue of her S2's base power being only 4 and whenever she rolled a single heads hit the boss or the enemies would also roll heads and win the clashes.
It was an easy fight overall that I agree with you, just found the Id and team choices kinda restrictive.
my ncorp ryoshu carried me in the final section ngl, ive never even used her before
It's funny because my NCorp was doing absolutely awful before that point and constantly dying to unbreakables and her Gaze buffs.
That's exactly the experience I had with her myself and what led me to trade her away in favour of REAP.
I think its mostly because she suffers from having low base power on her skills so even if her ceilings are high, in no way shape or form she's winning anything when rolling tails(S1 has 3 base power, S2 has 4 and normal S3 has 5, all are incredibly low)
Was definitely thinking about swapping to REAP but at least she did work well after the split. Probably would've been way better to have REAP for the boss rush though.
Yeah, REAP adds some consistency because she gets tons of clash power from penitence and gets chip SP healing from just hitting stuff, not to mention that you can basically guarantee her conditionals's activations if you just use a normal unenhanced S3 once which in turn makes even her S1s have a base of 6 and a ceiling of 15.
As a bonus she also gets like 50+ hp worth of shields every turn at full penitence and her S3-2 actually gives her or one of her allies like a 60hp heal
I ran the N Corp Duo, Thumb Mersault and Night Awls Gregor and they did great! I dunno they feel quite strong, bleed tremor mix and I could actually pull off the combo moves of the N corp Duo
Not really? Outside of the one exception being Ryoshu herself, you basically had a mini Burn team going between the rest. That's not what I'd exactly call "least cohesive team possible". I've also had success going Bleed/Tremor with N Corp Yi Sang, N Corp Ryoshu, Thumb Meursault, Allen Gregor, as well as a full generalist team with Solemn Lament Yi Sang, REaP Ryoshu, Thumb Meursault, and Allen Gregor.
If you really desperately need SP, Gregor has Bygone Days to heal 3/4 of the group by 15.
First few turns of a boss fight has always been quite swingy, especially if the boss itself has SP. I don't think changing up the Sinners would have mattered too much, unless you get someone like Faust/Rodion with an OP ID who can single-handedly carry the entire team.
Bloodfiends Gregor and Meursalt + Painter Yi Sang + Awe Ryoshu worked fantastically though. Lust Resonance, tankability and sustain for days.
I used a similar team at first, just swap Priest for Night Awls Greg.
It didn't work as well as I'd like since I couldn't help but feel Prince Meursalt and Priest were wasting their potential by generating blood feast while they didn't consume nearly enough of it.
Not to mention Contempt and Awe Ryoshu kinda doesn't roll that well in a low sanity situation, which led to her being dumpstered in the mook fights. That's why I traded the team for a burn centric team with REAP Ryoshu since she's charge and burn gets to keep their conditionals much easier than bleed without Sanguine Desire.
It kinda opened my Eyes to the fact that the best ID's and EGOs are with Faust, Honglu, Heathcliff, Rodya, Ishmael, Don Quixote and Meursalt with others having mostly supportive IDs that help potentialize/maintain their statuses.
I also feel like with the 4 we were given the only possible status combinations we could run kinda comfortably are Burn and bleed.
Yi-sang and Greg have good sinking IDs but they need potency support to function correctly, Meursalt only has Diecy which is a pretty bad Id and Ryoshu has none.
Rupture could work with Uma/Warp Sang, Cinq Meursalt, Mao Ryoshu and Si Gregor but it doesn't feel like a terribly fun team to play. And while Ryoshu has her Dayu Id, she just wouldn't be sustainable after a while.
Tremor is just out of the question, Hemmorage and Scorch would clash with each other, Thumbsalt cannot maintain burn alone to make it a meaningful damage source and Hemmorage is Hemmorage, its a bleed destroyer at the best of times and terribly underwhelming everywhere else
Charge already has no team synergy which is made worse by the fact that Gregor and Meursalt have no usable charge Ids by nowadays standards(Rosespanner and R Corp)
Poise needs no status synergy but is hampered anyway because Si Gregor kinda wants to be in a rupture team and only Yi-sang would've been able to benefit from Meursalt's swordplay of the homeland. Maid Ryoshu is a very solid Poise Id, with a good evade and solid clashing, but she doesn't do nearly enough damage since she's a relic from a time when damage modifiers were way Rarer and Dayushu really struggles to maintain her poise count while also being massively hampered by not being in a rupture team.
It's such a limiting choice of characters team building wise.
Priest my GOAT omg bro just refused to die and keep tanking that one pierce skill that kill everyone else. My god he is the only reason I beat 9-14 9-15 9-17, everyone else died. Wei Sang struggle to get Line Breakers dued to pink shoes, Casetti Salt got 77 damage after wining the clash (bruh), REAP could not win a clash and died.
Yeah, those Ring manikins are diabolical and from my experience they spam their 3 coiner unbreakable almost every turn. Doesn't feel nice to win the clash and get staggered with a blunt fatal unit and even Blunt resistant units ended up taking like 40 damage from a clash win.
Fuck those guys.
The only time they use their unbreakable is after they guard, and the only time it's actually unbreakable is if you attack into the guard. This is just a reading issue.
Point taken, never had to read in an unfocused encounter before.
And I might have gotten really unlucky with them too, since 3 out of 4 of them would use the guard every other turn, so even if I had paid attention it would still end up costing me turns because no clash = no sanity gain and no sanity gain = Lose Clashes easier and that skill rolls quite high.
Imo allen gregor is a better pick Because of how story fights can snowball so easily towards either side
Allen gregor doesnt get to use his passive much honestly. Priest being almost unkillable juat eats through unbreakables. I atruggled in the final fight until i switched allen oit cause he kept getting staggered by stray hits
Idk if i just got lucky But the final fight was pretty easy tbh
well...I will shard him next walp

Idk if this counts as a spoiler, but the final boss of part 1 I have mixed feelings on. Managing the shield-giving status is fun enough (way better than dulcinea I gotta say). But I've realized that enemies that focus too hard around shields are kinda unfun cause it feels like unless your damage output is high, you're not doing anything to them. I didn't realize that Ryoshu literally couldn't die, would have made it easier had I found out earlier lol. It took me one attempt but I can say that I enjoyed it, specially with that enemy that has insanely high clashing attacks.
I did enjoy the rest of the canto. The guy we all thought was Roland looks like Moses and Roland had an evil son. Can't wait for the next parts! First time I'm playing as a Canto releases. Also every new character is hot, mainly Valencina. First time I've understood those who simp for Makima and Odalia
Holy part 1.
Rolex, Daddy, Tongueless, Thumbgirlthathastheworstpossiblejobgiventoherfightingacolorofallthings but surprisingly no Ring.
Not strange if Verg has somehow already killed the Ring Nursefather though. Would be crazy plot twist.
Ryoshu has AMNESIA. Twinning with Sancho rn. She gets parts back according to hints throughout.
The question is... who gave her Amnesia? Limbus or The Fingers?
Or someone closer? Her baby perhaps? Or herself?
Also, if I get this right, Peak Ryoshu balled with 5 different high tier Capo/Maestro/Big level and mutilated them?
Dunno if they're stronger than Lei Heng, but holy shit, maybe Lei Heng's words about Ryoshu unsheathing if she wants to win wasn't a pep up but like a genuine statement.
"Like, girl, you've done worst to people stronger than me, better show me that 5 finger slayer you were or I'm killing y'all fuuueeeeh"
Overall, fuck that ebony stem thing. I first tried it, but I can see newer players who can't take advantage of 12 possible useable lvl 55 heishou UTIV having a motherfcking aneurysm against it.
Holy wipe out. Unfortunately for it, the rupture team is a fucking boss node. You might've killed the 1st wave, but there is another.
And if you kill that 2nd wave, you now face [THE LORD OF HONGYUAN].
Apparently that was the hardest thing in all of part 1.
The very first abnowe bully the shit of is the hardest thing in this canto as of right now. Crazy what the deterrence does. They lobotomize these bosses. (lol)
Ebony Stem really wasnt that bad as long as you read. Just put unga bunga IDs against it and it worked.
Imo, it was the easiest lol.

you can clearly see they are around
8 base power clashable guard is not funny bro
my firefist just did 3 damage
Making thoae chain battles is obnoxius cause the answer of ignoeinf them ends up being just dont play that turn
fr that shit is so annoying

Shout out to the localizers for Sweetheart. What a perfect word.
Now I don't know if the difficulty ramped up or my IDs were slightly underleveled, but the Canto so far has been a boss fight gauntlet compared to all the others. Surprised this isn't the dungeon with the amount of abnormalities and powerful bosses. I suppose the real dungeon will get very, VERY interesting and hard.
Isn't the Outis group genuinely the safest one? All they have to say is that they're Ryoshu's friends and Middle Dad should let them off, or make them lead him to them
There is one slight problem, though. The Middle never forgets, and that group, unfortunately, contains a certain coupon thief amongst them.
Nah, Heathcliff is with his bestie Hohenheim.
I don't think Ricky Rick told the other branches
In Nocturnal Sweeping he says he's been asking the East Thumb for help tracking us
unless they do anything to piss him off they should be fine yeah
in terms of how safe being around a finger is the ranking probably goes like this index, middle, pinky, ring, thumb
although id rather be killed by the thumb then the ring lmao
Ryoshu's father fight with multiple weapons and can even swap between them seamlessly, he also kill people instantly without no one even noticing and his silhouette is kind of generic just like Roland. Like, this have to be intentional at this point but why does this man has many similarities with Roland? Even the teaser having him looking like he's wearing Black Silence mask. If he starts pulling out a gun next part, I might just flip.
prescript told him to act like roland "mimic the soundless color" or some shit
the middle trainee mentions 2 other guys and girls as part of the trainees. By elemination index trainee must be a girl
Likely the Daughter. And so ryoshu's goal will be to release her, but she's likely indocrinated
these better not be the new exp lux enemies or i'm gonna distort
Fuck 9-17
Even reading its just such a slog. Im genyinely exhausted of shields
there is always 1 annoying lux
is it just me or leveling characters a complete slog to do?
Oh absolutely if your like me and have too many team comps you like.
Assuming you mean from 55 to 60. Don't level them until you have to? I mean why would you even want to max them at part 1? Just takes the fun out of the game.
I keep mine the previous max until I really can't do anymore fights or the dungeon...whichever comes first. Last season the dungeon unironically came first.
I feel they gave the lux as the first part so we would level units honestly. The final boss of the act is 65 with no debuffs
I kept my team at 55 and the fight was fairly easy regardless bc the boss has fairly average rolls with hardly any coin power conditionals if at all. Not to mention they have gimmicks to deter their strength. Although I suppose it helps the winraters/illiterate.
Always has been. Seasonal BP levels can help, as do events, but Luxcavation farming was never not a bit of a chore. (Aside from when it didn't exist)
At least we have access to the new EXP lux after finishing part 1!
Is it just me or

Used Ringsang, Caposault, Red Eyes Ryoshu, and Firefist, had zero trouble with everything.
I wasn't looking out for it, but I think pierce resistance is super helpful to basically ignore the spikes passive from the ring apprentice
wusang, caposault, Ncorp ryoshu and night awl gregor worked very well for me
I used Ringsang, BFMeursault, Contempt and Awe Ryoshu, and Night Awl Greg
Here's a thought - Ryoshu was trained to be a blade that can cut anything, does this include things like memories, i.e. was she the one to destroy her own memories?
The best part about Canto 9 starting is unironically that I don't have to see the Heishou anymore. Freedom at last
Monkey heishou popping up in part 2
Watch
Heishous will save us in part 2 and the banner for that? Heishou Meursault
