Kinda depends. I go to WFTC because they have a cheap 1 hour shoot on Tuesdays. Sometimes Eagle, but it's my least favorite place to go and I only really go with others. Columbus is free and has up to 100 yard ranges, but it's like 1.5 hours away. McMiller is alright if you're mostly just shooting boomer style where you sit and pop at paper targets slowly.
I shoot at Eagle often. It’s the closest to me and I like the people there. I like shooting trap, so I get out to McMiller a few times a year. Do you have any experience at Racine County Line? I’ve been thinking about checking it out, but haven’t yet.
I haven't been, but I would like to go at some point. Not sure about their membership requirements or anything, but I would absolutely join a group to check it out.

Usually USI. Other than taking a friend or a family member on occasion I go to the range alone, but would be happy to join a group if there was one.

Hopefully you don't mind me asking, but do you have any recommendations for good ranges in the Pittsburgh area? A couple of friends and I are planning to meet up there next summer and since we're all in the hobby to various degrees we've been thinking about having a range day together.
Keystone is decent for 25 yard and under but I often shoot at west deer sportsman’s club.
West Deer is $20 a year and it has 50/100 yard rifle that’s shared but three 40-50 yard open areas that you get first come first serve and no one can be in the pit. There’s zero frills but 🤷♂️.

I’m pretty jammed up through the holidays but I’m down for January. I’ve got the WMA pass and go to the Chestnut range quite a bit, it’s just such a crapshoot of lane availability. I tend to bring long, short and pistol and just shoot whatever is open.
Definitely would love to check out some other ranges and you’re welcome to buddy pass on my membership at GA Firing Line in Marietta. It’s a pretty nice setup.
I live West of Marietta so it's 50/50/50 (yes I know that's not a thing) for me on whether I go to Chestnut, Club El (the fancy one with the electronic targets), or West Point (LaGrange/ Franklin - a good range that has lost some funding but is a lot cleaner and better funded than Chestnut). Since each is about an hour and a half away from me I usually go to West Point.
Talladega is not much farther but I just haven't made it over there yet. No need to go out to those distances just yet. If you don't mind a drive I'm up to do some longer ranges. North of Chattanooga, South Georgia by Albany. South Carolina has a 1 mi range.
They’re all about the same distance for me too. How about you pick one and a Saturday, I’ll be there. I haven’t shot a mile in a long time but I’d take a crack at 500yds (only have some 223s). I’ve been thinking about getting back into long range stuff now that I have adult money. I used to do some in PA with a hand me down 308 and budget glass but I struggled to be able to afford the ammo so I fell out of it.
ETA: Have you seen these Hike and Shoots? There’s a range over in Alabama with some pretty interesting scenario setups. I’m definitely trying to make the next one.
