Hello everyone! I’m looking for players to join my game Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, the 2018 urban fantasy prewritten module for DnD 5e all about getting tied up in an intricate conspiracy surrounding have a million gold pieces! This is a perfect game for beginners to the game, but still something fresh for an experienced player.

I’ve run this campaign to completion one other time in the past and now that I’ve done more research I would like to revisit this campaign that I love. If you’re interested so far, please read further!

About me: Hi! I’m Clay (he/they), I’m 20 and I’ve been playing DnD 5e for around 7 or so years. I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a furry. Some of my greatest media influences include Zelda, Persona, Final Fantasy, and Deltarune.

About the campaign: An unlikely party of adventurers receive a job to save the friend of a celebrity. However, little do they know that this job will cause them to get entangled in a conspiracy that involves some of the most powerful individuals in Waterdeep and the wider Sword Coast.

For those of you mildly aware of the original adventure; this campaign is a remix that pulls in all 4 of the original villain factions. So even if you’ve played it once, this may still be a fresh experience!

Is this campaign for me?: This is a great campaign for beginners and people willing to engage in roleplay. Those who enjoy investigation, sandbox games, intrigue, heists/stealth, and notetaking should find something valuable in this game. Those who are more fond of combat, character optimization, straightforward goals, roleplay-lite, facing obstacles head-on, and exploration beyond Waterdeep’s urban setting might not find as much enjoyment out of this game (and that is okay, ily minmaxers and beer n pretzel players 🤍). The perfect player for me is one that is willing to be more proactive and doesn’t feel inhibited by verbal roleplay with myself and others at the table.

LGBTQ players are 110% welcome at my table. I personally would also prefer players be at most 30ish years of age, though I’m willing to be a little flexible on that front! It’s mostly a comfortability thing.

Player character restrictions: My player restrictions for this campaign are fairly minor. I will be accepting a maximum of 5 players, but preferably 4. I will not allow homebrew for this game (for simplicity for everyone), and all races must be able to be found in the Forgotten Realms (I will assist and have a list of acceptable and unacceptable races). This game will also NOT be first come first serve; I want to chat and make sure you’re right for my game.

Times and VTT Systems: Times will be flexible, but likely be sometime on weekends past 1 PM CST. The group as a whole will settle on a time together. Session 0 will be sometime in January and the first session will be either in late January/Early February. We will use Discord for voice; there will be music bots but you may turn them down if you do not enjoy music in the background. I personally use Foundry VTT for mapping, and I love automation suites for speedy combat encounters. Sometimes combat in this system can feel more video game-y though, so if party consensus demands that we switch to a lighter system we may.
