You don’t know where you are, and as you look at your hands you’re not even sure you know who you are. But you do know two things- that the pounding in your ears is the sound of your own heart, and that every atom that makes up your being is screaming for you to run.

And yet, you can’t. Your shoes feel as if they're made of stone and your eyes are fixated on the blackened and scared mountain in front of you, the shadow it casts seemingly growing larger and larger by the second.

When you manage to finally tear them away, you look to your left. Faceless, featureless figures stand beside you, though if you didn’t know any better you’d say they were statues. It’s only the shaking of their hands that tells you they’re real. To the right, the same. You don’t know who they are or why they’re here with you, but something inside you stirs. You're glad they're here. You're glad you're not alone.

For a moment the fear subsides. And then someone is screaming- the sound so shrill it tears through the sky and you can’t help but cover your ears in pain.

No. This isn’t screaming. Well maybe there is some screaming- your screaming, the faceless figure's perhaps. But this is something else. It’s something that sounds like failure.

The sky lights up an ominous blood red and silhouetted within the clouds you see it- a long strand of chains, tethered to the mountain and disappearing into the sky and within it a link beginning to give way. you can only watch helplessly as the metal creaks and bends and then breaks with a booming SNAP!, the top piece of the chain flying haphazardly across the sky like a whip while the bottom disintegrates over the mountain top, spreading darkness like a sprinkle of glitter over the mountain top and spreading down it like an avalanche.

It barrels towards you, consuming all in it's path, and as it comes over you, you now know three things. That the pounding in your ears is the sound of your own heart, that every atom that makes up your being is screaming for you to run, and that this is the end of the world.

But maybe it doesn’t have to be.

About the game: Hello and welcome to Wildemount! You chose the perfect time to visit, for the end of the world is coming and only you (and a few others) can stop it! Brought together by a shared vision the likes of which rival the calamity, will you and your new found party find a way to stop complete and utter annihilation? Or will you fall short, and bear witness to the end of Exandria as we know it?

We'll be using 5e 2014 rules (as this is what I'm most familiar with), Discord and Roll20. I own quite a bit of D&D content on DnDBeyond so I will be making a campaign there to enable content sharing. This way everyone has easy access to the two Exandria books- Explorer's Guide to Wildemount and Tal'Dorei Reborn. You are not required to make a character sheet on both DnDBeyond and Roll20- I just need to know where your sheet is for easy viewing.

We'll be playing on Mondays at 6pm CST for a maximum of 4 hours. I work overnights and have a hard cut off of 10:30 CST, so this is the absolute latest we will ever go. This is 7pm EST and 4pm PST.

At this moment I primarily see the campaign taking place on the continent of Wildemount. This may change as the story progresses. Please keep this in mind while coming up with ideas for your characters. The starting location will be in Wildemount, though it has yet to have been narrowed down further than that. A little knowledge of Exandria/Wildemount is preferred but not required.

I plan for this to be a long-term campaign, running weekly or bi-weekly depending on the party. I also plan for everyone to start at Level 3. Because of this, a little experience with 5e 2014 is preferred but not required.

About the DM: I'm Sintaurii (she/her), a 26yo from Texas who enjoys playing horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil in my free time. I've been playing D&D for almost seven years now, DMing one shots here and there. Out of the three pillars of D&D I enjoy Roleplay the most.
