It might've been a temporary side effect, I waited about a month each time but it just got to a point where I was feeling sick and couldn't work which isn't an option since I live on my own. 10mg has been better.
I went from 10 to 20 for a few months last year—for me it was the wrong move. 20mg had my body feeling like lead. I felt heavy, struggled to really "wake up" most days and really had that space cadet feeling.
It wasn't working for me and I wish I hadn't so readily accepted that suggestion from my provider.
Besides, I just didn't like the idea of being on a max dose. So, not only did I go back to 10, but I actually just last month went down to 5 and am having absolutely no problems and don't notice any negative difference.
I actually think I can go down even further to 2.5 at some point soon.
Does that mean everyone will have my experience? No way. I'm positive 20mg works well for certain people. Just, in my experience, I didn't feel like it was the right change for me and I'm glad I reversed course.
I’ve been on 15mg for probably a year. I definitely understand the fatigue. I take a nap pretty much every day.
At 10mg I could still feel the anxiety “sitting there” in my chest, and I didn’t like leaving my house, and especially hated driving
At 15mg I stopped having issues leaving my house or driving. My day to day anxiety was pretty tolerable. I only really noticed the anxiety in large social settings, or in situations where anxiety would be normal, it just seems to amplify what a “normal” persons anxiety level would be.
I’m just curious if 20mg would make me a zombie to the world
I couldn't handle 15mg & 20mg, I had to go back down to 10mg. It made my depression bad to the point I wasn't functioning at work and in general.
So going up in dosage made it worse?? What?

Yeah ok a month should be enough in my opinion. I tried going from 20 to 15 but after a month i realised that was to big a reduction.
from 10mg to 20mg made me incredibly exhausted all the time. i can take multiple naps a day and never feel well rested.
My reaction exactly

No it wont. Im on 20 doing fine. Only the weight gain is an issue.
I’ve been on 20 mgs for about six weeks and still can’t get myself out of the house or driving. Hope I can soon.
I went from 10mg to 20 and it’s odd because I feel like with 10mg I felt fatigued 24/7 once I jumped to 20 I feel more leveled out
How long did it take for you to level out?
It’s been a week since I’ve been on 20mg but I honestly felt a difference on week two. Unsure if it’s placebo or not but it definitely feels different
Ha, 20mg was my starting dose. Went from 20mg Prozac, which was also my starting dose of that.
I find motivation is the key thing I lost. Couldn’t do my job effectively as I found I leaned on strong emotions to get things done.
I find myself sleepy, tired, drained.
But considering what I was before, I will take this
Did you switch right over immediately or did you have to taper down & then back up? Biggest differences between the two drugs for you?
My doctor said just stop taking Prozac for a day then start lexapro.
I think I’m more tired on lexapro, I think weight gain is the same, motivation nominally lower, I think I have greater brain fog on lexapro.
But I also felt like Prozac was no longer working for me, like my body adapted?
At 20mg my anxiety quieted down significantly.
