Just wanted to ask as the factory i wark at might get shut down
So my question is how much will i get if they let me go
I make around 550 a week after tax and my contract with them started 10th July 2023
And yes I tried asking Google but I didn't understand what they meant so ya
I worked there for 2years and nearly 6months
Try popping your numbers in this calculator it will give you good idea what to expect:
https://services.mywelfare.ie/en/topics/out-of-work-payments/redundancy-calculator/
It all depends tho if your job will give you just bare minimum or do they have some rules in your contract that may give you a little bit extra but unfortunately if it's factory work it could be just bare minimum.
Thanks
"The statutory redundancy payment is calculated as two weeks' gross pay for each year of service, up to a maximum of €600 per week, plus one additional week's pay"
Based on this you'll get 5 weeks pay (tax free)
About €3,600 and counting. It goes up by around €23 a week. Also your untaken holidays have to be paid
There is a redundancy calculator on Revenues website (or MyWelfare I can remember)
You will also be eligible for Jobseeekers allowance (just collected my first one today)
Best of luck!
