• Source of the photo. Wikipedia entry for Bobbi Campbell. He was a public health nurse and the first to come out publicly as a person who had came to be known as AIDS. He did a live satellite interview with Dan Rather on CBS two weeks before he died but I couldn’t find any images from that interview.

    He died of cryptosporidiosis and cryptococcal meningitis, with his parents and Bobby Hilliard at his bedside. He was 32.

  • The braveness of these men, fighting the exactly-right fight, is astonishing and beyond comprehension for at least 90% of us in the USA today. What they faced personally was horrifying. How they were treated by the government and society was unconscionable.
