Source of the photo. Wikipedia entry for Bobbi Campbell. He was a public health nurse and the first to come out publicly as a person who had came to be known as AIDS. He did a live satellite interview with Dan Rather on CBS two weeks before he died but I couldn’t find any images from that interview.
He died of cryptosporidiosis and cryptococcal meningitis, with his parents and Bobby Hilliard at his bedside. He was 32.
The braveness of these men, fighting the exactly-right fight, is astonishing and beyond comprehension for at least 90% of us in the USA today. What they faced personally was horrifying. How they were treated by the government and society was unconscionable.

32 is insanely young :[
I can’t even imagine the pain people had to go through losing their loved ones so young. May he rest in peace
Sad but he was brave to speak up about the epidemic. RIP
