Yo guys, I've been practicing my English speaking through discord for a while. Sadly, I've found that it's just sooo difficult to dig out an interesting topic and keep talking about it with others.
So, now I'm thinking, why don't I try to fight with other people?
You know, the fact is, when we quarrel/fight/argue with others, we will be much sharper and smarter than usual (like a real badass). And given that politics is the most ambiguous topic on this planet, these topics should be effective enough:
Is China a centralized country?
Is Trump a racist? Is Biden a lizard?
Is homosexuality natural?
Are vegetarians demons?
etc.
I must emphasize that I did not mean to offend anyone, and these topics are just practice materials. So, no matter what you think, welcome. But please be gentle and rational. And I really hope we can disagree on these topics. If, unfortunately, we have identical ideas on them, that's just so sad :)
Since I'm a native Chinese speaker (Mandarin), I'm pretty sure I'll win the Chinese quarrel. You'll have no chance there. But when it comes to English, it depends.
hit me up if you are interested!
lol, you could also add debate to your list of quarrel/fight/argue - that might make it seem less confrontational ;)
Nice. Love this angle. Guess you’re looking for advanced mandarin speakers? PS I’m vegetarian.
I'm not native English speaker (Spanish one) nor a guy, but I'm fluent and I love to quarrel, especially on politics. ;) Oh, by the way, I'm learning Chinese.
You just reminded me of the most serious mistake in this post: Using guys to refer to everyone
Guys is a correct term for men and women, if I’m not mistaken. However, you are free to not use this term if you desire.
“He” is also the correct term for “he or she” (is it still?). However, I never use this because pretty much everybody will think “he” is “he”, so instead I say “they” to refer to “he or she”.
using “he” instead of “he or she” is very outdated! “he or she” is usually used in professional documents, but now most people say “they” :)
“guys” is fairly gender neutral and is accepted in casual conversation— not so much professional
Don't worry. It's pretty usual around here. For some reason, one assumes redditors are guys, myself included.
Nice idea! Too bad i am not native English speaker. It must be hard to fight back. Haha
我以为争论在大陆不合法 lol count me in.
Edit:

Lmaooooo this instantly caught my eye. Should create a discord....bring it on people. We'll discuss / fight hahahaha
You guys can definitely create a discord and put the link here if you want, welcome!

I'd be up for that as well 😂 I don't speak Chinese, but I do like a good debate
I’m not a native speaker but could I ask why you would say vegetarians might be demons?
Sorry, it's just for fun
And by the way, I didn't say it, I just questioned it
Reminds me of a fun bit on South Park

I didn’t mean that. Sorry for using improper words. I was just curious why you would question that.
TBH, I don't know any vegetarian, but there are indeed many people dislike vegetarians very much, and some of them do have really convincing evidence. So, I think, perhaps, it could be considered a question, right?
Haha, that sounds kind of fun.
For sure not doing this shit on WeChat lmao
