Hi! I'm an undergraduate student (19F) from New Delhi, India. As a result of being brought up in New Delhi, I'm fluent in English, Hindi and Bengali. Sanskrit is my fourth language and it's also the subject I'm graduating in. I have experience in teaching English and Sanskrit formally as a private tutor and I've also helped my cousins, relatives, friends etc. with learning Hindi and Bengali (even though I've never taught them formally). I've been learning Japanese on my own using online resources for over a year and would love to engage in a conversation with a native speaker or an intermediate/advanced learner on topics we're both interested in.
I'm an ardent reader and a big fan of contemporary Japanese literature, some my favourites being Convenience Store Women (Sayaka Murata), The Devotion of Suspect X (Keigo Higashino) and Sweet Bean Paste (Durian Sukegawa), and someday I hope to be able to read Japanese literature in Japanese. I'm not that much into manga or anime, but I'm always open for good recommendations and thought-provoking discussions around them. My favourite anime is Banana Fish. I've also tried getting into One Piece, but would love to have someone to discuss the story with (who already loves the story). I'm also really intrigued by Japanese culture and would love to learn more about it. I would also love to understand how Japanese works are translated into other languages (mostly English). My areas of interests include literature, philosophy, psychology, linguistics, history, and anthropology.
I am a beginner bengali learner. English native, feel free to pm me.
