  • off topic but Id like to know your japanese progress. now I know japanese features the same grammatical functions as turkish even though both arent in the same language family but Id like to know what made you dive into tonnes of intimidating and challenging kanji? its cuz of anime or grammatical affinity of both languages or maybe both of that? its ok to say that turkish people, better yet, people whose natives are agglutinative language are most likely to grasp the language than german speakers or russian speakers? cuz I guess some people use it as an adventage to learn agglutinative languages since those kinds of languages are so short in number.

Kanji came as a natural part of the language after a while. However, I think as a native speaker of Turkish, perhaps the grammatical structure of Japanese (which is also agglutinative) didn't come as a challenge (pronunciation is also quite easy for a Turk) so the only challenge was perhaps the kanji. Furthermore, the logic of the languages were quite similar in the sense that when I directly translated something from Turkish into Japanese (or vice versa) it usually worked quite well.

My good friend was an Italian guy, who hated me for explaining everything in Korean and Japanese like, "yea I mean, just as how we have it in Turkish..."
