I'm a doctor living in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. I love learning languages, and am currently trying my hand at two new ones. The first is Tongan, which I am hoping to become familiar with to communicate with my patients, as there is a large Pacific Islander population in my county but few resources to learn it. The second is GuaranĂ, which I've read a great deal about and always wanted to learn, but only recently decided to take the plunge.

I'm hoping to find conversation partners I can talk to once every week or two weeks. It will be painful at first as I slowly put together sentences, but hopefully I can string together some basic thoughts within two months. I can trade native American English, C1 Indonesian, which I studied for my graduate degree in history, or B2 Spanish/medical Spanish, which I use to communicate with my patients.

About me: 35M, an MD with graduate degrees in philosophy and history, with a good command of the relevant vocabulary in each of the languages I'm offering. I love history, philosophy, movies, psychology, literature, current events, gaming...I enjoy talking about pretty much anything!
