I've been studying English for years, but these days I've lost my motivation. The reason I posted here is simply because I wanted someone to talk to. None of the people I made friends with on Steam could speak Japanese.
I can understand enough to play English games, but it would be difficult to talk on Discord. I can correct mistakes in your Japanese, but don't expect me to explain grammar in English.
I like anime and manga, so it's even better if you like that kind of topics. I'd like to otaku talk. 😆
Edit: I'm lookin for someone who speaks English and understands a little Japanese, and I'd like to make friends with someone who has the same interests as me.
I'm not thinking of studying English hard, so I'm sorry to trying to help me with that.

Hello! It's amazing that you can listen and understand Japanese. If you just speak and put the words in order, Japanese people will understand you. I often see foreigners on Japanese TV show who have lived in Japan for decades but still can't use pitch accent. I wonder if the difficulty in reading and writing is due to the use of Kanji?
As for my favorite anime, I don't really have one that is the best. I watch any kind of interesting anime. If I had to pick one, I would say that I don't watch the popular animes. (e.g. Attack on Titan).
Of all the ones I've watched recently, I really enjoyed Uma Musume.
I know I don't have a native grip on pitch accent, but I consider my pitch accent to be better than my friend's who is otherwise better than me at speaking. I'm able to correct him when he uses the wrong inflection. The difficulty in writing is from kanji definitely, and with reading it's a mix. When I speak and write, I feel like I don't really know how to word things. I struggle when I try speaking to my friend even to ask him, do you want to come over later? Will you be having lunch with xxx?
You said you like Uma Musume, which I haven't watched, but do you like that sort of anime? Sports, fantasy, kinda cute? I want to watch a lot of anime when I have time. I'll hopefully someday watch Serial Experiment Lain, Berserk (or the manga), and some other darker anime but I also want to follow some slice of life and romcom. I really enjoyed Oregairu. I also want to watch Carol and Tuesday... The list goes on...
