Hi there! I’m a 30 y/o trans dad. I am half Chinese, my family is from Singapore/Malaysia. I’m trying to learn Chinese via Pimsleur, Coffee Break Chinese, and YouTube with my 3 month old son. He loves to listen to the sounds and I really like the idea of teaching him about his heritage. He’s also half Chinese. I speak French and Spanish and have loved the process of learning languages. I like nerdy grammar and trying to get all the pronunciation right. My own dad speaks seven languages so I gotta keep it moving!
I’m seeking someone I could text voice memos to correct pronunciation and chat to from time to time via video. I’m happy to offer English or help with French or Spanish if you’re a beginner and don’t care that I’m not a native speaker.
Some interests are self-improvement, parenting, queer culture, psychology, art, economics, history, current events. I’m interested in the minutiae of everyday life. I’d love to click with someone I can relate to who‘s outgoing and a reliable communicator. Too many of these things just fade out!
DM if you’re interested!
Hi I’m offering mandarin here, dm me
hi! i'm malaysian chinese and can speak mandarin and english! i am 17 though, so if you're not comfortable with that i understand!! good luck, its so nice to see dads that do their best to love their children.
Hey there, I just love the idea of showing your kid the sounds of your heritage. As a half-thai, who doesn't speak his mother tongue, it's so inspiring that you do this, your kid will thank you.
Thanks for the love. When you’re hapa you have to just kind of make it up as you go! Do you think you’ll try to learn Thai one day?
Possibly as a hobby to honor my mother but at the moment I'm already overwhelmed by the languages I have to become fluent in to be a good teacher. 😁
