Ahoj! I'm a native Czech/English speaker and I teach a lot of Czech people English. I have never taught Czech but I would like to try if anyone is interested.
I'm a university student studying language so I'm very interested in trying to apply what I'm learning about phonetics and linguistics in school to a lesson plan. I can begin teaching in mid January. 🙂
Zdravim!
Interested as well! I am from Russia but want to go to University in Czech. My skills at this language is poor but i will be glad to email you
I'm interested.
I would love to learn! I'm a language student too, and just started the Duolingo Czech course a few weeks ago so I'm definitely a beginner lol.
Pivos!!!!!!!!!! And thats about all i remember from spending 3 months in Prague! My favorite city in entire world!
Hi. I want to learn a little bit, even just the basics. I hope you can teach me. Thank you!
Dobry den! Jsem američan a taky jsem student univerzity. To zajímá mě. Prosím mi
dávate DM.
Ahoj! I would definitely be interested in teaching someone who is studying at University. Let me just figure put how to dm people 😅
I’m interested PM me please. I tried to PM you but I can’t.
I would love to study Czech!
Hello, I’m interested in learning Czech. Please sign me up 😊
Interested! I’ve always been disappointed my mom lost her native language as a child because the public schools forbade its usage at home thinking it would mess up her English. 🙄
Gah, that's very sad. Yes a lot of English speaking colonized nations have had a very twisted relationship to bilingualism. So many people replied, I think that I'm going to begin with someone who has already begun studying the language at least just a bit, but thank you for your reply.
I am very very interested, please I would be very grateful if you dm me!
I’d be interested! I am (was?) a Czech/English native speaker too, but I’ve lived in the US my whole life, so my Czech is slowly slipping away :,) I’m also currently in college majoring in linguistics! :D
Hi, what do you think you'd want to work on? I am worried that my own level isn't high enough to just be correcting smaller things, I myself am starting tutoring after the new year to fix some of my issues (mě/mně/mne, šestý pád, atd.)
I’m not super literate, and my ability to use the right cases with prepositions is kind of falling apart. I also have the vocabulary of a ~7 year old who is aware of taxes xD I definitely need to talk to people more but the mistakes I make make me scared I’ll look like an idiot 😔
I myself get certain cases and prepositions wrong sometimes, but it's what I'll be working on so perhaps it could be a good exchange to pass on and explain what I'm improving myself!
!!! Absolutely :D Btw, do you know any good news sources in Czech? (I’ve heard that Babiš owns a lot of them, which sounds kind of sketchy? 😅)
I don't actually have a tv so I just catch stuff on the radio. I live in a village of 25 inhabitants and work on a farm with like only 2 people so with school online I am admittedly sort of cut off from reality at the moment 😅
Ah okie! xD
Hi! I would love to learn Czech !!
Hi, would be interested to, I started studying Czech this semster though, so if you are looking exclusively for people starting completely fresh, I might not be the person you're looking for. But if I am, DM me please
I am surprised there's so many responses! I would actually prefer someone who has already begun to see what other resources they're using, and since it shows a certain commitment. Are you studying in school?
I'm studying in university in Germany (my main degree is linguistics, so I'd also be very up for nerding out on that part)
Cool! Are you studying Czech in University as well? I had no idea it was offered anywhere
yup, definitely in several universities close-ish to the border. I think two of the main ones are Regensburg and Passau, my teacher has also taught in Austria. At my uni there's a degree for Western Slavistics, so it's sort of part of that (though that degree is mostly focused on Polish, which I'm also learning, even though I'm not part of that degree)
But yup, I'm only learning the language at uni though, not taking linguistics courses about the language
Hi I can’t find chat icon in your profile please DM me, I want to learn basics
Extremely interested!
I'm also interested in learning Czech!
