Hi, everyone! I'm a Nordic philologist (and multimedia artist) by trade, I speak English, Swedish and Norwegian, each at a different level (+ Serbian as my native language), but I'm trying to move forward with my Czech and Irish at the moment. I can help you with Serbian, English, Swedish and Norwegian (as much as I can, as a non-native speaker). Apart from that, I'm a freelance translator, who also likes writing, reading, singing, listening to music, watching movies, etc. as well as creating music and visual arts, I'm curious about different things in general and I'm open for learning new stuff, so our language exchange won't be boring. :D
One of my greatest passions is traditional Irish music and modern music influenced by it (one of the reasons why I'm learning Irish - to be able to sing sean-nós/trad songs in Irish properly), and my love for the Czechoslovak New Wave cinema got me into learning Czech (I'd love to learn Slovak as well once I'm more confident with my Czech). I'm still a beginner at both, but not a total beginner. I'm still not past A2 levels in Czech and Irish properly (written Czech/Irish is still a comfort zone; I understand written/spoken Czech much better then written/spoken Irish though, although it depends on many factors), so I need to study more, AND to practice the languages with someone. But I will do my best to write/answer you in both Irish and Czech though - I'm good at using dictionaries, grammar/text references and researching everything online (I'm a translator, after all). :D
Čini mi se da tražimo istu stvar, je sam govornik irskog koji hoće naučiti srpski
haigh, is gaeilgeoir mé, chuir téacs chugam
Haigh, a Ruairi! Go raibh maith agat as do téacs... Ní sé éasca gaeilgeoir a fháil do comhfhreagras :D
I found the following users who may fit your language exchange criteria:
55444Hermes: a bot for r/Language_Exchange | Documentation
Well, those criteria will overwhelm way too many people around here. :D
Alas, it was not meant to serve as criteria, it was rather an attempt to state/define what I can/cannot do language-wise, and to offer something to others :D
Hehe, yeah. These are technically criteria though, as stated of the bot. Hope you'll find your bestest (ye, I know, informal word) of the best partners. :)
Yeah... I'm still getting used to being followed around by bots here (it even feels weirdly reassuring on some emotional level) :D Thank you for pointing that out, and for the good wishes - hopefully a (good) partner will pop up at some point, I'll just keep looking :)
Best regards!
Hehe, yep. Good luck!
(also if you wish, we may direct message for other types of conversations :D)
