Hi! I just found this subreddit and decided to make a post here. I'm a native Finnish speaker and speak English fairly well but far from perfect. I'm learning a lot of languages but at the moment I'm mostly focussing on Hungarian and Italian. I could try to help someone to learn Finnish and hopefully practice another language too. Just pm me if you're interested :)

  • Hi! I'm not sure if your offering is still up, but I'm interested in getting at least a piece of advice to continue learning Finnish. I was in a student exchange program at Jyväskylän Yliopisto during last winter/spring, I took a course to learn basic Finnish, and continued studying by myself since I returned home.
I'm a native Spanish speaker, and fluent in Portuguese and English (I'm a teacher of English as a foreign language), so I could help you with any of those languages.
Let me know if you're interested :)

  • Moi! I'm a native Hungarian speaker, living in Hungary, and besides Russian (pre-intermediate), I recently started learning also Finnish because I love the language. Currently, I'm doing it on Duolingo, which is really great, but I'd like to find something more efficient.

  • Hey there. I'm a native English speaker who's just started learning English. My Spanish is very good, C1. My French is a bit lower but still advanced around B1-B2. German and Italian are low beginner. PM me if you want

  • I‘m not learning Finnish, but I used to teach English as a Second Language and teach German now. If you ever have questions or want help/to chat, DM me!

If you were teaching it as a second, why does it say native on your tag?

English is my native language. English as a Second Language refers to teaching English to non-native speakers living in an English-speaking country, in my case the US. It's kind of a silly name though, because I've had plenty of students who learned English as a third language.

English as a Second Language is the name of the program. He’s not saying English is his second language.

  • Moi! Ehkä en puhu unkaria tai italiaa mutta mun äidinkieli on saksa ja opiskelen suomea.

  • Sounds cool! I'm a native English speaker and looking to learn Finnish!

    That's awesome! I'll dm you
