Hello everyone! I'm a 26 year old guy from the US. I'm looking to make some friends in the languages I'm studying/want to study, since it's a lot easier to improve when you have someone you can interact with regularly in your target language. If you want someone you can talk with casually while learning about each others' culture, interests, or whatever else, feel free to send me a message!

Here's what level I'm at and what I'm looking for more specifically with each of my target languages:

Japanese: Not fluent but I can communicate comfortably in Japanese without much issue. Mainly looking for a partner to keep me from getting rusty, as well as picking up more advanced vocabulary/improving my accent and speaking mannerisms.

Spanish: I can have basic conversations, but I haven't had much practice speaking with natives so I don't have much confidence in my abilities yet. Trying to learn Mexican Spanish but it's fine if you speak a different dialect!

Russian: Complete beginner. I can read cyrillic and know some of the basics, but I don't know much more than that yet. As long as you're fine with me being a beginner I'm happy to both learn from you and help you with English.

Mandarin: Beginner, similar to Russian. I've learnt some of the basics from friends before and I can read a bit (partially from study, partially because of Japanese), but I'm not good enough to do much yet.

  • Hello , My name is Arlene, and I live in Beijing. I am a native Chinese speaker looking to enhance my English skills. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I enjoy reading and listening in English; I have read many books and can understand native speakers quite well. However, I don't have many opportunities to practice my spoken English. My English level is intermediate, and I would like to progress to an advanced level. I am easy-going and patient, which makes me an excellent language exchange partner. My interests are varied and include reading, traveling, food, and cooking. I am interested in a language exchange where I could help you with Chinese, and in return, you could assist me with my English. Please let me know if you would like to give this a try. I have WhatsApp, Line, and WeChat, so please let me know which platform you prefer, and we can share our IDs. Thank you for considering my request.

  • Hi I'm Grace! I did a bachelor's degree in the states and I am doing an internship during the summer. I am a Chinese native speaker and I've tutored Chinese when I was doing the undergrads. I'm happy to talk to you!

  • Hi! I'd love to help you with Russian (while practicing my English), but I'm more into texting. I'm interested in trying to "teach" my language because most people seem to quit it soon

Hello! Just text is fine with me as well, and as long as you're willing to teach I'm willing to learn!
