Hi. I'm a 37M native English speaker from England currently learning Russian and Swahili. I'm a relative beginner in both.

I'm learning Swahili in the hopes that I can surprise my step-mother, who is from Kenya. We are planning to visit Kenya in a year or two (her health permitting) so I'm hoping to learn enough to get by before then.

I also have a close friend who is a Russian speaking Ukrainian, hence the Russian. Although she speaks English well, it would nice to be able to use her language when we speak, plus I've always liked the way it sounds.

I'm looking for people can help me practice what I learn, assist with the grammar and offer the important knowledge which Duolingo, unfortunately, does not provide.

I'm struggling in particular with Swahili so I would certainly appreciate anyone who can help me make some sense of it.

I work as a software engineer, and when I'm not working I enjoy 3D printing, reading, cooking, gardening and playing the odd PC game. I'm also a Go player and a big sci-fi nerd, and have recently got into Blood on the Clocktower.

Thank you. :)
