Hello! I'm a 26 year old male from the US seeking a language partner who can help improve my very basic Japanese. Currently learning vocabulary and can communicate about basic things, but my speaking and grammar needs work. I am very passionate about music and food, so if you like to talk about those things we could get along!
Ideally would like a partner who is a native speaker from Japan, as I have lots of questions regarding regional music cultures such as tsugaru shamisen, honkyoku, and others. I want to visit the country extensively in the next 1 to 2 years. In return I can talk about the Southern United States where I am from, bluegrass music, and my region of origin Louisiana. I really love learning about culture and about music.
I'm not very great at Japanese, but I don't expect a teacher. I just want someone to help immerse me in the language. While not an academic, I think I have a pretty good understanding of English and how to explain some concepts from my experiences talking with Spanish speakers learning the language.
If this sounds interesting to you let's partner up! I also play some video games if you would rather communicate while doing an activity.
Native Japanese here. Not too talkative. I probably don't know much about the specific music you mentioned, but I do write songs for fun occasionally. Personally, I'm keen to improve my speaking skills since they're quite weak at the moment. Hit me whenever
Doesn't have to be that specific music! I'm just very interested in different music styles across cultural groups in different areas of the world. I'm down to talk about J-pop, enka, hardcore, city pop, rock, hip hop, or whatever. I really love music.
Are you ok with someone who's not yet at JLPT N5 level? I'll probably be really bad to start out with. Your English seems much better comparatively.
My English is a pretty neutral American accent with some hints of Southern.
Sounds good to me! My written English is maybe fine, but my speaking skills are significantly worse, both in grammar and punctuation.
Hi, I’m not a Japanese native speaker but I’m a J-pop Stan and I have visited Japan several times. If you want to have a talk, just drop me a message
I'll send you a DM! We can also figure something out.

Are you looking for specifically a Japanese native or a learner too, because I'm learning Japanese too and would love for us to help each other with our Japanese.
The goal here is to find a native Japanese speaker as I'm interested in the cultural component as well, but I wouldn't be opposed to also speaking with another Japanese learner.
Main things for me would be: how far along are you, and what kind of interests do you have that we could talk about?
I'm a pretty very early learner but am learning faster than I thought I would. I'm also interested in music, and an extra interest is video games and linguistics in general.
