  • Hi I'm into climbing, bouldering and the occasional hill walk in nature. I studied a semester in Prague (a long time ago). I usually visit from time to time but part of me has always wanted to move back over long term.

I am from the UK (Scotland) so am a native English speaker. I don't have any teaching qualifications but have been told I am good at explaining some nuances and correcting technical writing etc.

Honestly I kind of considered learning a language as an impossible task but a friend told me a few months ago he had success with Duolingo for Spanish so I installed it and I finally opened it up last week and am surprised at how much Czech I have actually picked up (probably because I have seen the labels in the supermarkets on maps and metro stations and have heard a lot of spoken Czech). There seems to however be no spoken practice with Duolingo and therefore it will probably be a while before I can actually make any conversation in Czech.
