New here, looking for language exchange partners. I am beginner in Basque.

  • Hi, I speak spanish, I'm from Venezuela and I can help you practice, I would like to practice french.

  • Egun on! I'm kinda late to the party, but if you're still looking for someone to learn Basque with, I'm a native speaker (Nafarro-Lapurtera)

I would love to learn some Basque with you.

That sounded weird. Yes, I would like to practice Basque since you offered hahha!

Oh don't worry, it didn't sounded weird to me haha

I'm sending you a message on WhatsApp if that's OK with you!

  • Are you still looking for a language partner? I speak Spanish (native) and I’m trying to learn French.

    Still looking.

Très bien ! What do we do now? Mp? Whatsapp? Qu’est-ce qu’on fait ?

  • Hola, estoy interesada en practicar inglés contigo. Yo soy española nativa. Saludos ^^

Hola! ¿Puedo enviarte un mensaje privado? Tengo un nivel intermedio en Español.

Ciao! Vale? Como seguimos? Aqui? Zoom? Whatsapp?

No tengo discord.

  • I’m from Florida so my native English isn’t much to offer, but I speak B1 Porteño Spanish so maybe we can practice?

  • Hi! Spanish native here (from Spain); also I speak Italian because I worked there for 6 months.

I'm not sure if this means you've like to have some talk exchanges in Spanish. I am looking to have regular video calls weekly (~30-60). If this is something you think you can do, let me know. If not, not worries.

Hola!

  • Where do people speak Basque? Never heard of it. Also, I can help with Spanish. :)

People speak basque (euskera) in the basque country-- I'm not being cheeky! It's Northern Spain and Southern France. Beautiful place that I lived in for some years. I can explain more if interested.

I would love to have an exchange. From where did you learn Spanish? I learned while living in Spain (Basque country)

Sure thing! Would love to hear a thing more, or two, about this culture; the geographics and the language. For my Spanish, I'm from Mexico, and so it's my native language. I've also learned English, mostly by myself, and self-taught French.

Basque people live in Spain (most of them) and France. Also there is an immigrant community in USA as well. You can read & watch about them and their language, it is really fascinating! If the current main hypothesis about their origin is true, Basque language is the only surviving pre-Indoeuropean language in Europe.

Also they have contributed to the most unexpected pidgin ever, the Basque-Icelandic pidgin that doesn’t even have Icelandic words.

That's a pretty interesting, rather unique concept, to talk about a language that's been preserved this well. Definitely deserves a more detailed research, which I'll look into. Thank you so much for your response!
