Did keto before my wedding and felt great. 8 years, a 5 year old, 4 surgeries including brain and 15 lbs heavier. Ready to start again. Yes, on Christmas Eve. My gift to myself!! Just had to post here. It’s for my health. I have horrible migraines and endometriosis. Deep down, it wont be fun, but I have to do whats right for me. Sick of the sugar crashes, binges and anxiety. Ready for this!
Fabulous!
Since you've done it before, you know the drill. Don't skimp on the fat and protein at first during the transition. No need to fast at the start. Calories count, but get through the first week or two without hunger.
Well, merry Christmas, welcome aboard, and know that we have zero doubts that you’re going to do fantastic.
Thank you!! Merry Christmas!
And of course today I got a Christmas treats tower with all sorts of cookies, chocolates, etc . Havent touched it but cant say Im not tempted!
re gifting isn’t my thing, but can you re gift this? lol. out of sight is out of mind. we have so many cookies here. if i eat one all hope is lost. let’s not give sugar any power!
Good luck! You can do this!
Thanks! A little discouraged because I weighed in a lb heavier this morning… but staying the course.
speaking from years of experience, i would hide the scale for a while and focus on keeping keto. i’ve learned not to become a slave to the scale. it’s quite liberating. also, water weight fluctuates daily.
Well done! I just restarted last week and have been fasting between social meals (1-2 days usually) and its awesome!
Now I also have to cut down on coffee, getting sensitive since my sleep is dramatically better. Best of luck to you!
do this for you! im 3 days back on keto (began in 2023) after a disastrous ‘bout w sugar. good grief. im tired of surface dwelling and im ready to do the deep dive into what’s going on with me that i keep floundering. im so addicted to sugar. yikes. keto is the only thing that works for me. 2026 is going to be a great year keto wise. we can do this!
Sounds similar to me! My kids are 3 and (nearly) 5, and I kicked off this return to keto x-mas eve too. I came here with the desire to just tell someone too :)
I’m impressed you’re only 15lb up after multiple surgeries including Brain! I’ve had a couple too, alongside general junk like injuries and being sick for what feels like years. I’m way more than 15 lb up from where I should be, exacerbated by a concussion that wouldn’t quit for months. That might sound unrelated, but the medical team kept telling me to eat carbs to fuel healing.
It’s for my health too. I feel exhausted and lethargic and overweight, and that’s just not who I want to be! It isn’t who I used to be, so I’m hoping to reclaim it.
We got this!! Sugar is the worst. Concussion does not sound fun. We are in a similar boat!! Feel free to dm anytime
