I loved the song, the lyrics and the mv.

It would have done so much better had it not been for the unnecessary hate train against her

    • also loved by critics i hope she keeps same tracking last few months, what i heard she gonna release few more single tracks like this

That's amazing. I hope people stop hating on her and she can slowly return to the spotlight

  • Honestly, her label just doesn’t promote her music enough. If they actually gave Bandaids proper promo, it would’ve probably managed to chart in the hot 100.

But honestly, it’s not about numbers right now. It’s about recovering her image after the disastrous 143 era. This album was received well by critics, AND the general public also seems to agree that it’s a good song (which matters most when it comes to the current hate train). She just needs to keep this up, and the numbers will come.

  • 🗣️ IT’S NOT THAT COMPLICATED TO ASK ME HOW MY DAY IS!

  • I agree, it's a nice recovery from the 143 period. I just wish it had been advertised a little more because it's a shame that after almost a month and a half, it's already recording not very high streaming numbers (just under 150,000 per day). It deserves more consideration.

  • I love Rockty sm this should be the vibe for Kp7

  • It's an okay song, and a good one for Katy Perry fans.

She didn't try to promote it so I'm not sure what would have made it better.

It's clearly an experiment for her new album.

  • I feel like it's getting the Never Really Over treatment (and by coincidence - these songs are very sonically similar.) A one-off return to form that lacked the promotion and could have potentially steered the ship for her career.

No doubt I think Katy will be fine - but it does strike a what if situation.

  • Katy Perry is in a difficult situation. It doesn't matter how good a song is (Bandaids is a good song); her label is not going to push it. They don't want to spend money to promote her.

On the other hand, to chart higher, you need heavy playlisting and payola. She can't win.

Her best chance is TikTok + luck for it to become organically viral.

I think if it wasn't for the coronavirus, Smile would have had a different destiny. The album was very strong, but the pandemic probably ruined all the promotional plans.

Exactly. Smile was supposed to be her comeback but covid ruined it and that album is genuinely so good.

I do wish she gets her comeback

I wish it too, but labels see artists as assets, and unfortunately, Katy's comeback with "Smile" failed due to COVID.

Katy Perry sold her entire catalog just before "Witness." She made a huge amount of money, but her label is no longer earning from her successful past catalog.

Katy does not have a 360-deal contract with Capitol Records. What does this mean for Katy? Her label has little to no interest in investing in her anymore. She lost her "value" as an asset since she couldn't produce hit singles or albums after "Prism."

Working with Dr. Luke was a huge mistake, not because of the fake abuse claims, but because he is a hit-maker producer. He has zero interest in producing hits for artists who come from two flop eras in a row. He keeps his best tracks for newer and safer artists (example: Doja Cat). People forget that mainstream music is a business, and the business cares only about money.

Katy Perry's best chances are working with an unknown and ambitious producer hungry for fame and TikTok, and hoping for a viral hit.
