• On a broader note, we need to be alive to the very real and substantial risk that comes in the form of a Reform-Tory coalition in Britain. The consequences that would have for the peace process and for people in the North of Ireland would be catastrophic; perfect for a paramilitary organisation looking to recruit members and pick up where the struggle left off

I think Reform are very very concerning for the North. Farage has indicated he’d like to pull out of ECHR, which would endanger the GFA. And TUV, an anti-GFA unionist party, are linked to Reform UK.

I don’t think the TUV and Reform getting more power would be harmful towards the cause of Irish republicanism, it would create very beneficial conditions

Well yeah, it would, but it would be bad for The North. It would cause political instability and worse conditions. Weakening the Good Friday Agreement would especially do that. I feel like Reform would have somewhat of an accelerationist affect on Irish Republicanism, which is to say it would happen quicker, but less smoothly and with more suffering

There’s no way. So much of the Tory party has already defected to reform. The only tories left are the ones who vehemently opposed cooperation with reform

Are you saying the Republican movement should re-arm and restart their fight if reform get into power?

Yes. They should do that anyway.

Easy to be gung-ho when you won't be taking part.

I think it's very interesting to say that when you've argued extensively for Ireland to up militarisation efforts and participate in the war in Ukraine while presumably having no interest in taking part

I've never argued for Ireland to take part in the war in Ukraine. I've argued they put themselves in a position for a more favourable peace deal which right now is not happening with Russia wanting half the country and essentially total demilitarisation. If the peace deal in the North included something similar I'd argue for continued fighting too. You go to the North and start asking for a return to the Troubles and see how popular it is.

Reform has at referenced bringing in policies that would breach the GFA. The GFA is a peace agreement, typically breaching a peace agreement leaves you liable to breaches of peace.
