Inuyasha has many hilarious moments, which ones do you like the most?

  • It makes me laugh and feel tender how Inuyasha changed over time. At first, he counted down the exact days until Kagome returned, and if she was even a minute late, he'd rush to find her. Then he started going for her even before the deadline: first a day early, then two days early. Later on, he'd go the same night, and finally, he'd just walk Kagome home as if nothing was wrong, and even go to school to pick her up because he was bored without her xD

In this chapter Inuyasha had already gone to school to pick up Kagome but she told him to go back. Inuyasha gets anxious when Kagome is late coming home from school and starts pacing around the house like a dog, it's funny 🤣

  • I love when they act like actual teenagers their own age lol

  • Who was the sexy demon Miroku was jealous of?

  • I forgot how dopey Kagome and the others look in the manga, too used to the anime lol

me who loves the simplicity of the manga style

Keep forgetting her brown eyes are a anime only thing

  • He called her a bitch? I don't really like that :(

Is that some kind of weird translation or are Japanese people really tolerant of language like that to/from their friends/lovers?

That particular panel was translated by fans, but in Japanese Inuyasha uses a rude form of the word "you". I don't have the manga in english so I used the fan translation for this post.

Temee is a very rude form of saying "you". Bitch or bastard would be appropriate translations. There is only one worse form: kisama. Sesshomaru uses it to address Inuyasha all the time. It basically infers an inequality in status like superior to inferior.

It's amazing what I remember from my Japanese lessons. Always the cuss words.

I already asked my best friend who studies Japanese, and she says that "Temee" is a derogatory way to refer to someone; it could be like "idiot," "moron," or "jerk." It's an informal and offensive word, but calling someone "bitch" is a bad translation from Japanese to English, that's what she told me. I imagine it can't be that bad if Kagome lets it slide, because we know she has a strong personality and punishes him with "Sit, dog!" for less.

Idiot, moron, or stupid all translate to "baka", not "temee". Remember the "baka fight" in Band of 7 where Koga & Inuyasha keep calling each other stupid?

  • I loved the funny moments!

  • I have used that first scene as a way to show how Insensitive Inuyasha is for a fanfic as one of the many reasons Kagome gave up on him. It’s cute in cannon, but when the guy giving you a ride decides you are going to stop to eat next to a stinking battlefield of dead bodies - well it’s reasonable to not be happy.
