Go to your local planetarium, the place that has been showing sphere-based projection shows about space since before you were born for cheap and yet has been decaying into obscurity
You just have to be a little careful not to get brainwashed by the subliminal messaging, but it's really worth it to support a local organization doing good work.
Eh….planetariums are cool but they need to up the ante with dynamic shows that captivate younger audiences. Most that I’ve been up to have some old guy narrating in a monotone voice and the guy next to you passed out and snoring
Second this - at least at ours (Winnipeg) the projection equipment has been upgraded. It’s far less blurry than I remember and quite a bit more dynamic than the constellation pattern it seemed to play on repeat when I was a kid.
I had low expectations taking my kids there for their first visit and was properly blown away within the first minute.
Yeah I mean 'your local planetarium' probably isn't in Vegas.. unless it is.
The word 'cheap' is doing a lot of work, though. Not like I could afford to go to any of those concerts anyway. I have been to my local planetarium, and I think they might have played something from the Eagles..
yeah my planetarium did a whole laser+visual ensemble to The Dark Side of the Moon album by Pink Floyd. It was awesome, but still a drop in the bucket compared to when i saw C&S live at the Sphere. I payed ~200 for that, worth every penny
Nah, its Vegas. Everything is overpriced and nobody gives anything their full attention. Took my wife to cirque du sole a few years back. And was blown away at how many people just didnt give a fuck about the amazing show that was going in right in front of their eyes.
death defying stunt where a woman is being tossed back and forth between swinging ropes 50ft in the air
Random audience member: im out of beer. Maybe ill go pee and buy a hot dog too.
No it absolutely is not. I checked out No Doubt tickets and anything close to the middle was $500+ before fees. $200 tickets exist but I wouldn’t say they’re near the average.
Is that source from the other reddit comment in this thread that quoted $795? Because I just looked on ticketmaster and they didn't have this event upcoming but they had the wizard of oz tickets starting at $100 and the backstreet boys starting at $350 so I don't see how a laser show would start at $800 in the same venue.
It's $35... And it's literally an unreal experience. The seats nice, they have the most unique climate control I've ever experienced, and the audio is insane. 8k video... I could go on. It's the best human spectacle thus far.
Where the f did you get $35 from? My sister was just there and the seat was like $230 something. Just doing a quick google search it seems they have different play or singers etc go through so I am guessing that changes the price and on some nights could be cheap like you say but the number I got was around $230.
You can also find them for much cheaper as it gets closer. My wife saw the Backstreet Boys for like $100-$150. The tickets were like $500+ the week of but dropped quickly leading up to the show.
I wanted to see WoO when I was in Vegas and cheapest tickets after fees were $300 for the worst seats. A random Sunday afternoon show. Best tickets were over $600. It's too much for a movie...thats more than most live performances...
I went last month. I thought it was amazingly overpriced and pretty much sucked. I guess if you are a big WoO fan, you'd think differently.
There were some neat effects, for sure, but the $185 we paid per ticket was about $150 more than it should have been. $35? OK, not too bad (but still a bit high for a glorified IMAX movie). $185? GTFO.
On another note, the concessions were CRAZILY overpriced and just nasty. We had a RAW hamburger. It, plus a hot dog and ONE drink, came in at $50-something! Just checked my statement:
SPHERE-CONCESSIONS LAS VEGAS NV $51.77
Go see Ka or Blue Man Group or something else and get some value for your spend. The Wiz ain't it.
Psychedelics aren't that expensive. Also, most tickets aren't that much either. That $700 quote was a dumb reddit comment wanting to shit on stuff people wanna enjoy. Like when they see a video of a single course at a Michelin star restaurant and pretend like that one dish costs a thousand dollars.
Psychedelics are the cheapest drugs there are. (most fun too)
LSD is like 2 euro's per tab and growing shrooms costs you 30 euro's to get a stash that lasts you 2-3 years
Really? I thought it was one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen. I mean just the scale is bonkers.
We saw it on the second day, by accident - we were just looking to watch any show at the sphere and Oz just happened to open the day before we wanted to go.
I think it helped going in cold. The reviews were just coming out by then and we didn’t expect any of the interactive pieces.
I’m not sure I would go back to rewatch Oz but I would 100% watch another show there.
I will occasionally take some video of a concert I'm at, especially if it is an especially unique or spectacular display. But that's only like a 10 second video so I can show friends the vibe/spectacle. I couldn't imagine just holding up your phone for 2 hours trying to capture everything like you're gonna watch it over and over again. I hate being the guy filming a concert on my phone, but when I do it's only for a moment. I've also been the guy to ask the people in front of me to stop holding up their phones when they're doing it for the whole show.
Better enjoy it while you can. They are hemorrhaging money to the tune of half a billion a year. Unless Taylor Swift gets signed to a year round contract I don't see it lasting too long.
I know that they were showing a special version of "The Wizard of Oz". I heard that during the scene with the apple trees, they released foam apples over the audience, to give a more immersive feel.
Contrary to some comments. The tickets do not cost almost $800 unless you are seeing a premier act.
Most tickets for say the current wizard of Oz show are $177-282 per ticket for most seats.
Genuine question to OP: If this video is yours, did you watch the actual thing happening in front of you, or did you look at your phone screen whilst it was happening in front of you?
People saying this is the same as your local planetarium have obviously not been…the sphere screen size is 160,000 square feet. There’s nothing like it and it’s not even close. You could fit dozens of imax screens on it.
Go to your local planetarium, the place that has been showing sphere-based projection shows about space since before you were born for cheap and yet has been decaying into obscurity
Ours has been closed for decades due to shitty politics and financial mismanagement.
Torontonian?
You betcha!
"Sad!"
(Sorry to hear, all too common now)
We still have an inflateable one somewhere... doesn't compare.
They closed the one in Toronto years ago. No more Laser Zeppelin & Laser Floyd.
Man, Laser Floyd is an experience that every young stoner should have at least once. That's a damn shame.
I went once as a kid and it was awesome..thank you for reminding me about planetariums.
Also that South Park episode. 😂
I love the planet-arium
plane-arium
They have a rare bone disease which prevents them from saying the letter T in the word plane-arium.
You just have to be a little careful not to get brainwashed by the subliminal messaging, but it's really worth it to support a local organization doing good work.
Alright, you’ve got me interested now, you can’t just tease us like that! Elaborate lmao
We never even had a plane arium =(
I’m convinced this place would make me nauseous exactly the same way planetariums do
I see what you're saying but are any doing something as cool as this?
Eh….planetariums are cool but they need to up the ante with dynamic shows that captivate younger audiences. Most that I’ve been up to have some old guy narrating in a monotone voice and the guy next to you passed out and snoring
I love my local plane'arium. It's the best.
I see you are a slurm of culture
Got non of that where I live....
LTT just visited one recently https://youtu.be/02Xm6kriroE
i have to state hop over to the museum of natural history in NY.... worth it though.
As someone who has been to quite a few and loves them...the Sphere takes it to a whole new level.
Not like this bruh 💀
Second this - at least at ours (Winnipeg) the projection equipment has been upgraded. It’s far less blurry than I remember and quite a bit more dynamic than the constellation pattern it seemed to play on repeat when I was a kid.
I had low expectations taking my kids there for their first visit and was properly blown away within the first minute.
If you compare it to this you will be let down
I wish my local planetarium could pull names like Kaskade, Chase & Status or The Eagles. Where do you live that you are getting these shows??
Yeah I mean 'your local planetarium' probably isn't in Vegas.. unless it is.
The word 'cheap' is doing a lot of work, though. Not like I could afford to go to any of those concerts anyway. I have been to my local planetarium, and I think they might have played something from the Eagles..

I bet everyone around that guy was like “PUT YOUR FUCKING CAMERA AWAY!!”
And was like “why the fuck are you screaming?”
The needless screaming would piss me off.

Apparently it's almost $800 per ticket. I'd bet most people there are recording to get some value of going by posting it on social media.
Edit: seems like actual tickets are much cheaper at around $200. I seen a top comment saying $800.
I went to a show there for like 200 bucks, why would this show be so much more expensive?
Edit: I just saw the first comment saying the price was 800, I guess this is how misinformation spreads lol.
[deleted]
It's not almost 800 per ticket. You skimmed one incorrect reddit comment in this thread before saying that. Its 200/person.
No it absolutely is not. I checked out No Doubt tickets and anything close to the middle was $500+ before fees. $200 tickets exist but I wouldn’t say they’re near the average.
It is multiple incorrect ones now, but also, fortunately, more corrections.
Imagine paying a grand to be sat next to some over-exaggerating screaming banshee for an hour or two.
I’m sorry, a grand??
and to see all the idjits looking at the amazing spectacle through their gd fucking phones.
It's $35... And it's literally an unreal experience. The seats nice, they have the most unique climate control I've ever experienced, and the audio is insane. 8k video... I could go on. It's the best human spectacle thus far.

What show is this?
Backstreet Boys residency show at the Sphere.
As a Gen Xer who had no love for boy bands during their heyday...it was a helluva show this summer. The venue is insane.
I wanna go so badly, but I cannot justify the cost. It'd be like, $1300 for me and my spouse. If it were NSYNC though, I'd pay up in a heartbeat.
You can get 2 tickets for less than $700.
Pukematic 2000
$800 to hear this lady scream
$795 a ticket is a waste of money
Holy fucking god
especially when someone is *screaming* like that? WTF are you 3?
Yeah that scream is pretty bad ... 🤣
Gotta get your 795 dollars worth
This is why I always keep sound off on reddit unless absolutely necessary. It's either this BS or some dumb ass annoying music.
Turned it on just to see what you were talking about, and regretted it.
You don't understand, the entire world is about her.
Worse than a plane clapper
I haven't seen anything that costs that much there. Source?
Id be shocked. It was $200 when I was there in the spring
My work buddies and I went for less than $100 per seat back in March.
I think some of the prices being quoted are for concerts or limited events.
Or resellers
You can also find them for much cheaper as it gets closer. My wife saw the Backstreet Boys for like $100-$150. The tickets were like $500+ the week of but dropped quickly leading up to the show.
I wanted to see WoO when I was in Vegas and cheapest tickets after fees were $300 for the worst seats. A random Sunday afternoon show. Best tickets were over $600. It's too much for a movie...thats more than most live performances...
200 is about what I expected.
But if you lie about it, more people will upvote you.
No idea. I just looked up the tickets for The Wizard of Oz and they were like $105 before fees. Pricey, but I've heard it's an amazing experience.
I went last month. I thought it was amazingly overpriced and pretty much sucked. I guess if you are a big WoO fan, you'd think differently.

I've heard it's a really bad experience, but that's mainly based on this video.
[deleted]
Why do you keep posting some kind of resell list? The most expensive ones listed are $350.00 still insane but ...
https://preview.redd.it/ltr7ypb1kl6g1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa939dc436fede25d24087d841f186dba78de48d
Do they provide the psychedelics at that price???? That’s insane
That would be a top end ticket for a limited event. The show in the video was probably ~$200
I wonder if the screamer everybody is talking about (mine is muted) is like that because they went for the full experience.
Psychedelics are the cheapest drugs there are. (most fun too)
LSD is like 2 euro's per tab and growing shrooms costs you 30 euro's to get a stash that lasts you 2-3 years
No it's not. Unless you get the really expensive seats (that aren't much better). Most tickets are around $177-250 https://gotickets.com/venues/msg-sphere?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&tid=kwd-1944332798379&agid=173568326365&cid=22249248690&int=9030833&pres=9193908&network=g&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22249248690&gbraid=0AAAAAqsaoURc4jbQKjA-Ru7aJgYmdzj9m&gclid=Cj0KCQiA9OnJBhD-ARIsAPV51xNXEL29mdy1e_myXx8RvNr5sEfPNkA7MeylzKDCCrxDeT_-Md-cuIgaApm5EALw_wcB
It was like 200 for me maybe the best seats are that much??
I mean when I went it was only $240. Depends on the event.
"Waste" of money is all relevant, too. Some people spend more than that on ski tickets, every year. Wtf.
You really just pulled that number out of your ass, and so many people believe it hahaha
Dafuq you talkin bout
Seems like it just keeps doing the same thing over & over
Ya I'm sure it could be a really cool creative tool, but there was zero creativity in this video.
Even seeing this as a kid on a field trip to a planetarium this would get old pretty quick.
What did I just waste my time watching …?
That was like a super high tech winamp visualization
Excited to see Phish in April
I just got my email...shut out. :(
Tickets on sale tomorrow…good luck. You’ll get em.
It’s cool, but just a bunch of gibberish and doesn’t really mean anything
It feels like AI had the reins in terms of directing this show
Some unsuspecting shroomer had the trip of their life
Overhyped af, was there for the alice show, it was mid. Not worth the high price
Yeah, I kind of feel like that about Wizard of Oz. There's a huge potential with this venue but I wasn't terribly impressed with Oz.
Really? I thought it was one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen. I mean just the scale is bonkers.
We saw it on the second day, by accident - we were just looking to watch any show at the sphere and Oz just happened to open the day before we wanted to go.

I’m not sure I would go back to rewatch Oz but I would 100% watch another show there.
The Bright Sun Films video on this thing is gonna be fire
I didn't know people went inside until a few months ago. I thought it was built just to be that emoji all the time
That shit was boring as fuck.
Can Yall put your fucking phones away and just enjoy yourselves?
How else am I meant to watch it on my phone if someone else didn't record it on their phone and upload it to the internet
What's the point of that? Fancy animations stretched over 1:30 without changing it up. Somebody put in the least amount of work required for this.
It fails to amaze me
Just go to the planetarium for 20$
Exactly what I thought 🤣
Apparently they have a fucking pterodactyl at the planetarium too.
Just hold the camera still, you fucking goober.
Better enjoy it while you can. They are hemorrhaging money to the tune of half a billion a year. Unless Taylor Swift gets signed to a year round contract I don't see it lasting too long.
Do people need to fucking scream?
Wow that's cool
Now lets talk about the downsides
This screaming person must be fun to stand next to after paying $785... shut the fuck up attention seeker
why do women scream for no reason?
Men do it too. Just lower pitched.
i mainly hear a “ohhhh” a “yoooo” from men. women scream like they are being chased by ghostface 😂.
ghostface 🤣
I can appreciate the insane engineering of it but that price is wild
Might as well just go to an IMAX theater and save yourself a shitload of money
I would love to go there and watch some dope nature documentaries. Planet Earth style.
Underwater! That would be amazing. I wonder if they've done that already. I would seriously consider booking a trip there just for that.
What is this show?
Yeah, cool. Now, stop fucking around on your phone and enjoy the show for yourself in the moment, instead off of the upvotes you might get.
camera pans left to right instead of filming horizontally. how stupid
I didn’t realize it was something you went inside of. That is very cool, is what’s shown on the inside the same as what’s on the outside?
There is always a girl screaming. Why you do this?
the planearium
This made me dizzy
I don't get motion sick, but holy shit. That's disorienting through a phone screen!
Dogshit camerawork
What amazes me is that they built this piece of shit and there are still people starving to death on the streets of Las Vegas.
Am I the only one completely uninterested in going to the sphere?
I wanna play Skyrim on it
What the fuck was that hoarse vocal fry banshee half ass wheezy whiny ass fucking screaming shit, I threw up in my mouth a little
Loud women are so tiresome.
[deleted]
Yes and also concerts
I know that they were showing a special version of "The Wizard of Oz". I heard that during the scene with the apple trees, they released foam apples over the audience, to give a more immersive feel.

Yeah, they do that. The opening tornado scene gets intense wind, and "snow" falls during the freezing flower scene.
Is it an interesting experience? Oh hell yeah. Worth the money? IDK, in Vegas, is anything worth the money?
No, and.... no
Wizard of oz
Fantastic
Looks like dogshit on my phone lol
Gojo vs sukuna please
I only wanna go inside of their high shrooms
That’s some Death Stranding 2 vibes
I like my visuals a little less chaotic and decipherable.
Drunkin spin simulator
Yk how much acid you could buy for one of those tickets smh what a waste of money
Didn’t know they allowed velociraptors admission to the sphere!
This is the same planetarium show they show at all planetariums. It costs 100x more at the sphere though
And still managees to fail to make a profit😂
In the cost, or the spectacle.
But it's both.
Awesome.
I thought there was no recording or photography allowed in the sphere.
Contrary to some comments. The tickets do not cost almost $800 unless you are seeing a premier act. Most tickets for say the current wizard of Oz show are $177-282 per ticket for most seats.
🇺🇸 ❤️ 🇷🇺
Got dizzy just watching this on my 5” phone
Genuine question to OP: If this video is yours, did you watch the actual thing happening in front of you, or did you look at your phone screen whilst it was happening in front of you?
Okay, so where is this? Other than Las Vegas? Is it a specific stadium/hotel?
I went a few months ago. It was neat but definitely not worth the price of admission.
You get in for free if you pretend to have a seizure at the entrance, ask me how I know.
Mmmmmmm motion sickness
Planetarium max +
This is awesome! I wonder if they would allow me to bring in the $170 pizza I bought into the show?
The Las Vegas sphere is losing roughly 100 million USD every quarter. 👍
Wilhelm was there.
Oh the screams.
Or, and check this out, go to a fucking Planetarium
They've been doing this for like 50 years, and they're all way underfunded because people suck
Never going there. I value my money and time way more than that.
That's the longest production company intro I've seen before a movie.
Probably needed to be there.
This is the kind of thing you get shown before getting told you have to go save the Universe
People saying this is the same as your local planetarium have obviously not been…the sphere screen size is 160,000 square feet. There’s nothing like it and it’s not even close. You could fit dozens of imax screens on it.
Aren’t they almost bankrupt?
Being an American thing, I’m very surprised it doesn’t have ads every 2 minutes like their sports
Reminds me of going to a Van Halen laser show blazed AF.
That’s awesome but I’d get so sick.
This thing uses enough energy to power 21,000 homes, Annual energy consumption is estimated at roughly 96,000 megawatt-hours (MWh).
Nevada/Vegas is in need of water. How many desalinization plants do you think they could have powered?
Noticing a lot more Las Vegas advertisements
Pretty sure if I lived there the majority of my money would go to sphere tickets.
So that's where Brock Sampson met Molotov Cocktease
The raves in the must get wild!!!
It amazes me that you would pay for a seat that isn't in the "optimal viewing zone" and still be excited about how badly you got ripped off.
Now play where in the universe is Carmen San Diego.....
i always wonder if there is a place in las vegas that has a thing called the sphere. thanks for jogging my memory.
