Intel® Core™ Ultra X7 Processor 358H seems like an absolute game changer literally for handhelds. i'd love to see a Steam Deck 2 released running this.
The Mesa drivers work, but for a low powered device like that you do need more performant drivers. They said it's not a priority, but they also didn't rule out focusing on linux drivers.
I’m sure if both sides wanted it to happen they could easily work together and get it done. Valve and Intel together have enough resources and know how to make it a reality if it’s in both of their best interests
SteamOS would need to support Intel Mesa drivers and that would take time and effort from Valve to test and support that, and for hardware that they don't use.
That said, there's nothing stopping any manufacturer from shipping with Bazzite or any other distro, or even a custom distro.
I think we will see from MSI an 8" 120Hz-165Hz OLED VRR Screen with the new Intel Chips, but it will be very expensive, i did find current gen without the inflated RAM Prices already kinda atrocious, can't/don't want to imagine with those specs and CPU this year what it will cost, lol
Let's gooo
Decided I want a handheld gaming PC and been waiting for PTL
I have a switch 2 but my PC library is huge and I really want cross save
Switch 2 and claw is the best combo imo the best rtx in handhelds

Intel needs to step up with their Linux GPU drivers first if you want to see a Deck 2 with an Intel SoC.

Windows 11 or Steamos?
Currently have the lenovo legion go s with steam os and really like it.
Not sure if intel is optimized for steamos but I hope they do as for handhelds I found it to be a better gaming os.

i really hope they putting a shitload of work into their linux support alongside these hardware advances.
Something OLED VRR please.
