Completed my half marathon. I’m around 76 kg with roughly 35% body fat. Finished in 2h 39m with an average heart rate of 179 bpm. I barely stopped running (maybe 10 minutes total).

But my heart rate seems very abnormal and i also felt i had good breathing control, i would've pushed more if my knee didn't hurt

Looking for suggestions on what I should improve next and how to train better going forward.

    Yeah, but not sure running alone will get me there. As of now I can cope up with a high heart rate for some long duration. But I see for this pace the heart rate should be lower.

    Try this for a few weeks. Run while keeping your heart rate below 155–160; if it goes higher, then walk. This helps you build aerobic endurance.

  • From your splits it looks like you ran too fast in the beginning half and then hit the wall and slowed down after km 16. Suggest you to pace yourself better. I feel you could have completed 2-3minutes quicker if you paced better. Run conservatively first 15 kms with slowly getting faster every 5kms. And then push in the last 4 kms. Your last 5 km should be faster.
