For a first bike, honda makes sense. It is more relaxed, can still cover long distances, and gives drastically better mileage in the city. Pulsar on the other hand will give you that thrill that your 2nd bike must have to feel like an upgrade.
I’d say go for the Honda CB350RS. It’s closer to the Ronin/Hunter vibe with that neo-retro look, smooth 350cc torque, comfortable riding position and pretty decent mileage around 35 kmpl. It just feels more refined and practical for daily use and weekend rides. The NS400Z is great in its own way but it leans more towards the sporty side. In the end, it completely depends on what you want and what type of bike feels right to you.
There's no direct comparison between the two. NS 200 is liquid cooled, whereas CB350 is air cooled. Air cooled engines can never beat a liquid cooled engine in raw performance. Alternatively, air cooled engines are very economical to service and maintain. Liquid cooled engines are a nightmare when something goes wrong.
I had same dilemma for 2 months and guess what i bought cb350rs on 21 december. I drove 1000km since then and made first service within 5 days. Specifications to sab youtubers bata dege but as per my experience Honestly bata raha hu bro cb350rs buy karoge to 2 things consider krna-
1. mud splash literally bohot jada aata hai, bike purchase krte hi honda hness ka front mud guard install kr dena.
2. spare parts and service cost is too high. take AMC in advance.
Reasons why i bought cb350rs over ns400z-
1. Mileage- Before 1st service it gives 35+kmpl and after 1st service it gives 40+kmpl. Mene bike purchase se pehle bajaj service centre par customers se poocha tha and the best mileage they can get from ns400z is 30-32kmpl
2. Service experience- Though service honda ki costly hai but service experience is top notch.
3. Road presence- Baccho se leke mature people, sabko looks pasand aati hai. In real bike looks more dope than in videos or pics.
4. I usually drive bike at 70-80kmph and never race so thats why cb350rs was for me.
At last as per my opinion why should you buy ns400z-
If you need raw power and peak performance.
Affordable service cost and spare parts.
Bajaj service centre availibility in every part of india. Honda bigwing are in selected cities.
If you travel long distances with a group containing himalayan, guriella, ktm390 etc, then you can easily outmatch their performance.
Seat cushion of ns400z is literally more softer than CB350rs.
Vibrations are less in ns400z. Aur haan sab bolte hai ki honda engine is vibrationless but trust me bhai, literally vibrations feel hota hai footpegs par when revving high. However Gear shifts are butter smooth.
Honorable mention- Honda cb350rs produces heat but not like RE's and also wo heat legs par nai aati, however pulsar ns400z ka fan on hote hi legs par bhot heat aati hai.
I hope this helps you and plz update here whichever bike you bought.
rear tyre hugger se ABS unit safe ho jayegi. Bcz abs unit ke connections pe bhi mud splash aate hai. The only downside of usuing rear tyre hugger is, it destroys bike rear look. In my opinion buy splendor rubber fender extender and paste it with double sided tape on the elongated plastic at the rear. Looks bhi sahi rhegi and abs unit bhi protect ho jayegi.
Sorry bro ns400z ke vibrations se compare nai kia mene. Mai generally bata raha tha ki bhot jada overhype kia hai youtubers nei regarding engine vibrations. Aur haa ek cheez aur overhyped hai soft clutch. RE se comparison mei to soft hai clutch but ns400z ka clutch jada soft hai and adjustable bhi hai.
Cons for the CB350RS (as an owner & redditor tired of hearing post-purchase complains from uneducated buyers): the power for the bike, especially in comparison with the NS, is really low. Most of the power band i.e the bike comes alive below 80kph; requires constant gear shifting in bumper to bumper traffic (can't start from a standstill from the 2nd gear). No real power above 100kph only cruising mode. Limited 3rd party accessories, as major focus is on H'NESS.
mud splash from the rear is bound to happen; as another redditor pointed out it's due to the humongous tyre size. Now, I have not installed any mudguard or anything but somebody on a thread had recommended & used this. Also, if you really wanna reduce mud-splash also install a bigger mudflap for the rear tyre, below the seat

Bike rentals near my area don't usually have these higher cc bikes, they have scooty splendor etc. what should I do in this situation I wanna test ride hunter 350 and cb 350
since these 2 bikes r so similar yet so different ,
so i'll give u the cons
CB350RS cons :
engine-gearbox combination makes the bike feel lethargic in nature, especially its super tall gearing
part availability issue has the chances to turn into a nightmare aftersales service sucks cause finding a genuine honda dealership that is equipped to handle HONDA BIGWING Series of Bikes is tough if u r not in a tier 1 city ,
also the service cost of CB350RS is fairly high when compared to other bikes around this price point and its fair bit higher than the Ns400z
Pulsar NS400z cons
slight engine vibrations around 4k rpm
the rear end of the bike feels a bit dated
its very powerful but it doesnt behave like it initially, therefore u have to be mindful of it while riding , otherwise u will kill urself
other than this both of these bikes r absolutely fantastic bikes
it basically boils down to what kind of bike u wanna own and ride with joy
I did a TD of both of them before I bought my Scrambler 400X.
If you want to choose based on looks then you already know which one you like more. Personally me and my GF thought the CB looked good while the NS looked like a normal pulsar.
If you are aggressive, want more power and don't care much about mileage then NS400Z.
If you want a comfortable, calm bike and you won't cross 90kmph much then CB.
NS400Z is not comfortable if your city streets are in bad condition. Pillion comfort of not great on it either. On a good road, there is no comparison to it though. It pulls hard. Bt consider the city roads conditions and pillion comfort on priority.
Pulsar NS400Z is a cheap toy for speed obsessed boys with tight budget. It is not long-lasting machine. The money you'll pay is solely for the 400cc engine only, everything else on this bike is cheap. The ENGINE can reach high speeds but the BIKE can't. Handling is bad.. chassis is unstable.
Pulsar NS400z is great on paper because it is a MOTOROLA of motorcycles.
Honda CB350 is overpriced.. Everything is great unless you're looking for Value-for-money deal. Honda bikes are always overpriced because there is demand for reliable engines. So if you value experience more than raw performance then it is a good bike.
Royal enfield are IPHONE of motorcycles though some of RE bikes are really great if mileage and maintenance cost is not a deal breaker.
Also, if this is your first bike then why do u feel the need to go for 350/400 cc bikes? If you're going for these bikes then I'm assuming you have decent riding experience. If not, get some first and then go for big bikes. Good luck.
Strong opinion? Get ready to be offended. You have been warned.
- NS400z- You buy it because you can't afford a Duke 390 and it is associated with the cheapest 400cc tag. Plus it looks like 15 year old bike and not a flagship Pulsar unlike TVS 310.
- CB350- Honda might have copied the RE in looks and specs, but RE Classic is the more memorable bike.
CB350C is a clone of Classic, not just close. RS shares the same engine, gearbox, suspension, chassis with H'ness and CB350, and practically the only differences are the looks and ergonomics. So they are all the same bike and a mighty company like Honda should have made the RS slightly sportier in engine tuning, gearbox, suspension, etc...
Classic and Hunter are very different bikes (chassis, bodywork, even engine tune) and same can be said for Speed 400 and T4 (different engine and features). Unlike CB350RS and H'ness. That is why Honda versions are all the same to me, but Classic is the better bike. This is something I speak after years of experience in bike riding.
If someone Choosing between a High revving naked bike & long stroke tall gearing retro bike
I suggest them to rent some bikes first, get good riding experience understand power, torque , compression ratio, in which rev band they like power & what they want why they want understand everything by doing extensive test rides
Personally I would go for NS400z because it is powerful, intimidating, and can take months or even years to get used to. I will not outgrow it as quickly as a CB350RS. But I like to keep a bike for a decade at least.
Its not just about the looks. OP should test ride both of them and check which one fits their riding style, use case and requirements. Also notice the comfort
For a first bike, honda makes sense. It is more relaxed, can still cover long distances, and gives drastically better mileage in the city. Pulsar on the other hand will give you that thrill that your 2nd bike must have to feel like an upgrade.
Whosoever clicked the Ns400z pic has a good knowledge about photography, great click 🔥
Pretty sure both were clicked by the same guy
Please tell me what's so knowledgeable about that pic... I'm curious. Is it the composition?
Framing, angle vohe sab basic cheez ko log dhyan nahi dete....
CB350RS is no nonsense retro bike with good reliability
Damn, both pics look amazing 👁️👄👁️

Hi bro, I just booked a CB350RS. I am going to install a front mudguard.
Is there anything to gain by installing a rear tyre hugger as well?
rear tyre hugger se ABS unit safe ho jayegi.
Thanks for the reply. I will check for a minimalistic equipment to stop the dirt from the rear.
its my pleasure bro. Btw welcome to honda family #powerofdreams
bhai ye splendor wali jugaad jara photo wagerah dikhao to, actually lene ki soch rha
what No way 350rs has more vibes than NS400z, like WHAAAAT, kehdo ki ye jhooth hain😵

Honda over Bajaj, anyday Happy riding :))

Are there any complaints with the mud splash from the rear? I know about the front issue.
Any must have accessories that we should install?
I have booked this bike.

Both are of different categories: cruiser and naked street !!! Simple asf
i was in ur shoes a couple months back and went with cb
Go rent it for a day and then make a decision
Bike rentals near my area don't usually have these higher cc bikes, they have scooty splendor etc. what should I do in this situation I wanna test ride hunter 350 and cb 350
Royal brothers might be there in your nearest big city. They ought to have them. Or u could always ask ur friends
since these 2 bikes r so similar yet so different ,
so i'll give u the cons
CB350RS cons :
Pulsar NS400z cons
other than this both of these bikes r absolutely fantastic bikes

NS400z is brutal
I did a TD of both of them before I bought my Scrambler 400X.

for first bike i wouldn't go with ns400
Cb350rs is a no brainer, just look at the service center reviews near your home for bajaj and you will get your answer 😂

Test ride them both. Ull out grow the cb350 faster meanwhile ns will keep up with you
Between bajaj and honda? Always honda :)

"Strong opinion" ka matlab yehi hota hai bhai

Avoid the Eicher clone.
