Hey y'all. I've got a flight out of IND at like 5 AM on Monday. I'm staying in a hotel like 3-4 miles away from the airport. Do y'all think I'll struggle to find an Uber at like 3 AM in this area? Thanks!
Whenever I do it, I get a confirmation usually within an hour of pre booking with a driver name and car. Perhaps it didn’t work out for you or there was another major event pulling drivers who were willing to cancel take the hit on their record and make more money.
Schedule your ride on Lyft. It's a better process for the driver than Uber is. Price it out though.
Unless something has changed, Uber makes the driver logon 40 minutes before your ride. That's an obstacle. Uber tries to find other rides for the the driver in the process that fits the time gap, but that's a pretty thin needle to thread. That means the driver is just sitting around for 40 minutes.
Lyft, you just have be online in according to the time you'd need to leave to get the passenger.
I've had an Uber cancel on me on several different occasions after reserving a car for an early flight out, so definitely make sure you have wiggle room with your airport arrival time. I live downtown so it's not because I live in BFE. Just a word of warning.
Never had a problem getting Ubers at any hour in Indy. Especially if prebooked. Just give yourself some leeway in case they need to find a new driver last minute
You can pre-book Ubers in advance. I do this every time I have an early flight.
that doesn't guarantee a ride. it just guarantees that you've asked for a ride.
Pre book, I’ve never had a problem
this only guarantees that you've asked for a ride, it doesn't guarantee that a driver will be available

I never have a problem getting an Uber at 3 am, especially to the airport. Did it this morning.
I would either pre book or make sure you give it 30 minutes lead time. When I go to work early in the mornings usually it takes longer to get one.
You'll be fine. You'll catch some overflow from the bar/late night crowd.
They go that hard? Damn I thought with indianas antiquated liquor laws that wasnt possible
Which laws are those?
Tell me you are out of touch without saying it.
the irony of you using stale left-behind phraseology while telling someone theyre out of touch.
Yo, Indiana only has 4 hours where you can't buy/get served alcohol. And, yes there are some bars that take advantage of this law.
I recently prebooked a Lyft to be at the airport at 5 am with no issues
Real ones take their Uber straight from the bar to the airport at this time.
Nope we were able to get one! But it did take an extra 20-30 min so just call it early.
Shouldn't be an issue. Like others said, pre-book it!
Prebook with a good 30-40min available time frame. I have had a couple of occasions where an Uber came 20min late.
I had a 4am uber in October to IND from downtown, didnt prebook/reserve. No problem finding a driver
I suppose the one time I pre booked, it didn’t work and we ended up waiting 40mins and pay surge fee.
Does your hotel have a shuttle?
Doesn't run til 5
Many hotels will offer some sort of accommodation outside of shuttle hours, especially business-oriented ones.

at 5 am you'll probably only need to arrive 1 hour early
I’ve taken Ubers in between 2 - 5 AM thrice, both to and from the airport, and I’ve always gotten a ride within 10 minutes.
I travel for work and have found excellent availability during those hours. Many Uber and Lyft drivers work overnight hours.
Many of the drivers have told me they only do airport runs because they think they are safer.

We got an Uber to the airport at 3am no problem. We just pre-booked it the day before.
I seriously doubt it. There will be drivers out.
