The asphalt path is a NIGHTMARE for bicycles and joggers who have ankles. Back in the 90s when they redid it all, they planted trees like 5 feet from the path... now all those trees have grown for ~30 years, and the root systems have destroyed the jogging/bike path; it is a BMX course now full of vertical bumps, bike tire-width crevices, and branches of all sizes. It's to the point where you HAVE TO CONSTANTLY scan the path for hazards, taking away from being able to enjoy the scenery of the park! It desperately needs TLC... more than a simple 'repave'.
I’m a huge fan of all the improvements Indy Parks has made here. It’s definitely worth a visit.
