I understand in the way that breakfast meals tend to be lighter than dinners. So if you prioritize a decent sized breakfast, medium lunch, and small dinner you'll probably eat fewer calories than a small breakfast and big dinner.
But the post is still stupid. Weight loss is about calorie consumption, and eating less calories doesn't make you buff. Dude making this meme is unlikely to be at the gym often.
Yeah lol, my lean ass tends to have a big dinner and it’s not uncommon for me to skip breakfast altogether. I did today lol. I’m not particularly hungry in the mornings. For the longest time I actually could not gain weight for the life of me.
I lift and do yoga every other day + do cardio and go for walks outside of that. My main source of calories is dinner. It doesn't "net" more caloric expenditure if you eat in the morning because the calories don't magically stick around (or run away the next day, for that matter) if you eat them at night but stay in a caloric deficit or at maintenance.
I usually do the "formal" exercise in the mornings. A hearty breakfast would have me regurgitating the second I do anything resembling a crunch.
So... Maybe you don't need the calories at dinner and are more active after eating a lot in the morning.
May be true but I find it easier to sleep if I had a decently sized dinner, so I sleep better, so I feel more rested in the morning, and therefore burn more energy than otherwise.
I'm the same. I need to feel full at night or I can't sleep, and if I'm tired I'm less disciplined during the day and more likely to eat junk food. I still have plenty of energy in the morning regardless of whether I have a large or small breakfast. Large breakfast actually makes me lazy and sluggish

But it's also not a law. An office worker won't suddenly be more active with a heartier breakfast. The reality is that calories in < calories out is what causes weight loss - and you won't gain mass in a cut.

Now behaviourally I find (I’m training for my first marathon currently) I perform much better after a big breakfast. I then after having my heart rate elevated can almost feel that either my stomach has shrunk from having my heart rate elevated for a long period of time or that maybe blood being diverted around to different parts of my body makes me not as hungry in the evening as on my recovery days.
I used to strength train a lot before starting long distance endurance training and I would be hungry on the way back from the gym and would have to control how much I was eating after training.
Another point on diet is the concept of a “cheat day” once a week I asked my friend who does this to actually record what he ate on his cheat day and it was crazy that it offset his entire week I think a cheat meal once a fortnight is enough if you really want to adjust your eating behaviour
No your body can really digest 26 g of protein for a 70 kg person if the protein is fast digesting protein like whey but for casein or beef or best yet bean the time for it to go from small intestine to large intestine take more time as it is slower digesting causing more protein to be used for MPS.
For beans however since the protein is inside the fiber matrix it can't be wholly digested (for pigs about 80% and human about 90% in case of lentils)

Idk it's the complete opposite for me. I've lost a lot of weight by just skipping breakfast (I'm usually not hungry in the morning anyways), having a light lunch, then loading up on calories at dinner. I think it's important for people to do what works for them and everyone is different. But I personally HATE going to be bed hungry. You're not the only person on earth who has lost weight and kept it off, lots of people (like myself for your info) maintain long term weight loss with easy CICO. 🙄 it's the only common denominator in any weight loss success. Has nothing to do with calories of the meals. Meal timing is to do with the hormones that the body releases at different times of day. In general, heavier meals in the morning and light dinners are more condusive to leanness.
Not necessarily true, I can't speak for Italy but in France it's standard to have lunch be the largest meal then dinner is on the smaller side, usually more like a "supper". This is why French kids get a super long lunch break at primary schools, so they can go home to have lunch with their families

Hard agree. I’m a recovering bulimic and it’s weird seeing my own destructive eating habits that only made me gain more and more weight over the years suddenly marketed as a weight loss/wellness trend 😂.
To be fair, it is common in fitness/health circles to eat larger breakfasts, smallish lunches, and even smaller dinners. I don’t completely remember why, but the saying goes “breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper.”
I’m not an expert so I’m not gonna say whether or not this is helpful, but I have seen many personal trainers and such recommend this.

Unsure if it's the same reason why fitness circles do it, but I've heard that you should not have a large dinner because it can worsen insomnia and give you a less restful sleep with weird dreams because your body is focusing more on digesting than on other things like healing and memory storage
Maybe it's just personal preference, but I like getting up early, doing sports early, and having a relatively large breakfast (and smaller dinner). This makes me feel more motivated and less tired overall.

Just make sure to get plenty of protein and water, especially for breakfast.
Eat something light but protein dense like yoghurt to start your day off right. You will also feel a lot better throughout the day as opposed to starting off with carbs or sugar that crash your bloodsugar levels leaving you feeling tired and lethargic all day.
Eating a bad breakfast or no breakfast will also leave you running on fumes all day, so once dinnertime comes it's way easier to binge on junk because you've been starving all day.
Fitness and health is much more about what you eat as opposed to how much you eat.
I can easily muck down 2-3000 calories in junkfood or icecream, but eating that amount of calories worth of beef, chicken, rice or veggies in one sitting is impossible.

In the past 6 months I have lost about 10 kg and I go for a lighter breakfast and lunch along with consistent exercise. For me it is more about eating at consistent times to avoid getting hungry between meals. That's when I used to over eat in the past with excessive snacking. At the end it really is as simple as calories in and calories out. Whatever eating pattern makes it easiest for you is the right one.

No, if you eat light in the morning (for a long enough period that you’ve developed a sustained calorie deficit) the energy you’re using is from your fat and glycogen stores(mostly glycogen)-which both store calories on an ongoing basis.
But while you sleep, your body is repairing you both mentally and physically so energy from your dinner last night gets used up and anything left over is stored into fat.
The energy made from the food that you consume in the morning typically does get burnt throughout the day simply due to the fact that it is in your tract, same with lunch.
You have to run a deficit for several days like 1000 cal consumed at most in order for you to wake up and to be burning your fat stores-instead of glycogen or glucose from where ever it can.
Your body is so adverse to burning its long term fat stores that you will unconsciously retard your own breathing in order conserve calories.
It’s an extremely inefficient way to achieve the kind of metabolic effort necessary to lose weight. And it creates a hurdle that prevents people from actually starting a weight loss journey-they think that portion control and self-discipline are a shortcut out of doing exercise when that’s not how it works unless you wanna keep at it for years with limited progress and lots of opportunity for set back.

You're not the only person on earth who has lost weight and kept it off, lots of people (like myself for your info) maintain long term weight loss with easy CICO. 🙄 it's the only common denominator in any weight loss success. Has nothing to do with calories of the meals. Meal timing is to do with the hormones that the body releases at different times of day. In general, heavier meals in the morning and light dinners are more condusive to leanness.

Not necessarily true, I can't speak for Italy but in France it's standard to have lunch be the largest meal then dinner is on the smaller side, usually more like a "supper". This is why French kids get a super long lunch break at primary schools, so they can go home to have lunch with their families

Hard agree. I’m a recovering bulimic and it’s weird seeing my own destructive eating habits that only made me gain more and more weight over the years suddenly marketed as a weight loss/wellness trend 😂.
To be fair, it is common in fitness/health circles to eat larger breakfasts, smallish lunches, and even smaller dinners. I don’t completely remember why, but the saying goes “breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, dine like a pauper.”
I’m not an expert so I’m not gonna say whether or not this is helpful, but I have seen many personal trainers and such recommend this.

Unsure if it's the same reason why fitness circles do it, but I've heard that you should not have a large dinner because it can worsen insomnia and give you a less restful sleep with weird dreams because your body is focusing more on digesting than on other things like healing and memory storage
Maybe it's just personal preference, but I like getting up early, doing sports early, and having a relatively large breakfast (and smaller dinner). This makes me feel more motivated and less tired overall.

Eat something light but protein dense like yoghurt to start your day off right. You will also feel a lot better throughout the day as opposed to starting off with carbs or sugar that crash your bloodsugar levels leaving you feeling tired and lethargic all day.
Eating a bad breakfast or no breakfast will also leave you running on fumes all day, so once dinnertime comes it's way easier to binge on junk because you've been starving all day.
Fitness and health is much more about what you eat as opposed to how much you eat.
I can easily muck down 2-3000 calories in junkfood or icecream, but eating that amount of calories worth of beef, chicken, rice or veggies in one sitting is impossible.

In the past 6 months I have lost about 10 kg and I go for a lighter breakfast and lunch along with consistent exercise. For me it is more about eating at consistent times to avoid getting hungry between meals. That's when I used to over eat in the past with excessive snacking. At the end it really is as simple as calories in and calories out. Whatever eating pattern makes it easiest for you is the right one.

The logic here is that if you give your body more energy earlier in the day it'll use that energy throughout the day instead of turning it into fat.
If you give it that energy right before you go to sleep, the energy doesn't get used, and it gets turned into fat.

But while you sleep, your body is repairing you both mentally and physically so energy from your dinner last night gets used up and anything left over is stored into fat.
The energy made from the food that you consume in the morning typically does get burnt throughout the day simply due to the fact that it is in your tract, same with lunch.
You have to run a deficit for several days like 1000 cal consumed at most in order for you to wake up and to be burning your fat stores-instead of glycogen or glucose from where ever it can.
Your body is so adverse to burning its long term fat stores that you will unconsciously retard your own breathing in order conserve calories.
It’s an extremely inefficient way to achieve the kind of metabolic effort necessary to lose weight. And it creates a hurdle that prevents people from actually starting a weight loss journey-they think that portion control and self-discipline are a shortcut out of doing exercise when that’s not how it works unless you wanna keep at it for years with limited progress and lots of opportunity for set back.

Your insulin sensitivity is much higher in the morning than at night. That’s why breakfast is the most important meal. Breakfast is where you want to get in your dairy, your saturated fats, and your carbs while you’re still optimally insulin sensitive.
