If you want to use that I'd get a nice looking block of wood and drill a hole that'll fit that vase. Something to stabilize it. That thing looks really too heavy and likely to tip over.
I just tried to Google Lens this item, but only similarly shaped drinking glasses with a base came up. If this item is a vase, I imagine it's missing a metal structure to hold it from the widest part and it's meant to be a hanging vase. Otherwise, the weight of water, soil, the plant wouldn't hold itself up properly.
That's a vase I would use for displaying cool rocks or just as a decoration on it's own. Given there's no drainage, at best I might put a bouquet or otherwise cut flowers into it. However, I have a cat so that'd just be a disaster waiting to happen lol
you could do any sort of starter hydropoinc plant in there from vegetables to plants. its not an ideal shape but it should work during most juvenile stages
Air plants, propagations, or possibly a starter plant still in its nursery pot that you could set in their temporarily. I'd just be concerned about the tipping factor.
Like everyone else, balancing is an issue but if you really wanna use it and be able to see it why not try to find some clear glass that it can nestle into and sit perfectly. Then I'd fill the bottom with a lot of perlite to be a drainage layer and put something that won't get super big, maybe a succulent with colors that match it.
I would prop coleus in it. They are very easy to prop and I do this so my coleus’ are ready for planting at our second home after the snow melts. I take cuttings in Autumn and have new big coleus’ by spring!
This thing looks like it’s going to tip over if someone sneezes. There are some really easy hanging basket macrame tutorials on YouTube, and you could easily turn this into a hanging plant holder. Much more stable. I made one recently using regular yarn I had lying around.
Agave. Or, the byproduct of agave. With Ice. And lime. Some triple sec to top it off
We are on the same wavelength

Don't forget the little umbrella, for easier watering of course.
Yep, margarita for sure.
Came to say this. With salt on the rim.
Don’t forget a crazy straw! Plus less oxygen to the brain gets you drunk faster… weeeeeee!
Then crack that whip! Give the past a sip!
I wouldnt.
Exactly, this is just a spill waiting to happen.
It might have a base to help keep it upright.
Could be cool as a hanging planter, just needs some simple macrame or etc.
I vote for air plant though.
Air plants, prop vase or a hanging vase with hemp rope or twine for lighter plants.
Oh I love the idea of making a hanging rope vase out of this. Would be way too scared of the whole thing falling over if it was just on a table
Same here but it’s a beautiful piece for foliage. I wouldn’t be able to pass up rigging it for some somehow 🤣
You may could also find a candelabra base that’s wide enough to hold it for a shelf piece.
If there's no drainage holes then it might be good for some propagations
Exactly what I was thinking. Definitely get something to prop it up, though.
how stable will that be w/ it filled and a plant that might grow unevenly out of it ? might be a potential center of gravity problem in your future ;)
Is it a vase or a taper candle holder flipped upside down?
Exactly
That’s a hat. Jk idk about what flowers tho
Air plants! Tillandsia are perfect for these kinds of things.
I would turn it upside down and challenge someone to a game of Sorry!
I'd also turn it upside down, but I'd wear it as a hat and pretend to be in Devo
I’d highly recommend limiting whipping anything while wearing this
This is not a vase. This is a hat indicating that you’re DEVO.
If you want to use that I'd get a nice looking block of wood and drill a hole that'll fit that vase. Something to stabilize it. That thing looks really too heavy and likely to tip over.
That is practically designed to fall over.
Unless it was in some kind of base that prevented tipping I would not set it that way.
Artificial plants
Would that actually even support plants? It looks like it would tip over?
I would not use this for plants.
I would knock that over immediately
White hydrangea so it looks like an ice cream cone.
I realized what group I’m in. I’d use it purely decoratively for fresh cut flowers, not for planting anything.

Neither. Turn it upside down and use it as a bracelet/jewelry tree
With the risk of revealing my age, that is a wonky Devo hat.
We are Devo
Whip it!
With support and a drainage hole, maybe for lithops as they have long ass tap roots. But that's a stretch.
Id make it into a hanging vase using macrame. Otherwise its too much of a spill issue
Crack that whip Give the past a slip Step on a crack Break your mama's back
When a problem comes along You must whip it Before the cream sits out too long You must whip it When something's going wrong You must whip it
Now whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead Try to detect it It's not too late To whip it Whip it good
When a good time turns around You must whip it You will never live it down Unless you whip it No one gets away
Are you sure that's not an upside down candle stick?
Air plants. Also second the vote for agave with lime and a salt rim, tho.
I wouldn't
Tbh I would turn that into a snack bowl.
The potential for layers is insane.
Right? I love it and snacks.
Make a hanger for it so you don't have to worry about it tipping over and use it as a propagation station
Isn't that a Dva cup?
None cuz I'd tip it over!
You are supposed to force bloom bulbs in that glass.
Hey, you have my Devo hat, damn I just dated myself.
EDIT: Apparently, I wasn’t the only one lol.
This looks like some kind of insulation cap from a power line. Interesting.
Purple glass made me think insulator as well lol

I would use it for r/semihydro

I would use it for ikebana but I wouldn’t plant a houseplant in it.
If I'm putting ANYTHING in that I'm coming up with a good way to keep it stable first.
3dprint/wood/macrame... something
Hang it with a macrame that can hug the top rung and let the light shine through it.
I'd drink tequila in that thing.
Would be awesome in a macrame hanger! I'd love it!
I would personally put a sno-cone or a margarita
Broccoli
That’s a hat, silly! A silly hat!
with a hanger and pothos
A tealight candle maybe. Unless you have pets. Certainly not soil or water unless it's a hanging pot.
Cut calla lilies
I would use it as an adapter for a tower vase arrangement
I don’t think this is a vase, and more of a candle holder
Caudiciforms, Haworthia
Most people are saying it’s going to fall over, I’m saying find another clear glass to nestle it into. It’ll be less likely to fall over.
That’s going to dump over.
Has it got a stand or hanger or something?
Tip over concern is too large to use as a vase... feels like you got it upside down
I'd get a rechargeable led light and put that suckered on top like a weird lampshade
If there would be a way you could make it more stable maybe adding something to it then I would but anything with shallower roots
its giving me anxiety
Maybe ONLY some dried baby breath.
Hang with macrame if you’re gonna use for plants, too much of a tip hazard otherwise
I think it’s upside down and it’s for incense
I would prop coleus in it. They are very easy to prop and I do this so my coleus’ are ready for planting at our second home after the snow melts. I take cuttings in Autumn and have new big coleus’ by spring!

Do this with it. False drainage setup
i'd put purple heart or transcandentia in it
This thing looks like it’s going to tip over if someone sneezes. There are some really easy hanging basket macrame tutorials on YouTube, and you could easily turn this into a hanging plant holder. Much more stable. I made one recently using regular yarn I had lying around.
Bamboo would be lovely in this..perfect darkness for the roots!
OMG that's definitely manganese and will glow bright green under UV!
That’s so freaking cool. I literally just bought a UV lamp, I can’t wait to test it out! Thank you for bringing that up!!!!
YAY!! idk if you got a 365 or 395 but the 365 will glow the brightest! I'm so curious if it's slime yellow or slime green! Go you!
Are we sure it is for plants... and not, other places?
Maybe a cool pen/marker storage?
